By What Authority?
2026/10/20
Luk 20:1 And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders, Luk 20:2 And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority? Luk 20:3 And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me: Luk 20:4 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? Luk 20:5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not? Luk 20:6 But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet. Luk 20:7 And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was. Luk 20:8 And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

3 A deeper look at Judas—Could You Betray Jesus Too? - Mark 14:10-21
2026/10/19
Why did Judas Iscariot betray Jesus? Was it really just about 30 pieces of silver—or was something far more dangerous happening in his heart? In this in-depth Bible study of Mark 14:10–16, we explore the betrayal of Jesus Christ, the spiritual danger of loving money, and the remarkable truth that God's sovereign plan was unfolding even through humanity's most wicked actions. Judas was not an outsider. He was one of the Twelve disciples who had walked with Jesus, witnessed His miracles, and heard His teaching. Yet he chose money over Christ. How could this happen? And what warning does his betrayal hold for us today? In this episode, we examine the human and divine dimensions of Jesus' journey to the cross. My sermons are the fruit of nearly 30 years of pastoral ministry, biblical counseling, formal seminary training, and a lifelong passion for God's Word. Since childhood, I've been drawn to the beauty and power of expository preaching—opening Scripture verse by verse and applying it to real life. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute, I spent the next 27 years serving as a youth pastor, senior pastor, church planter, and host of the Food For Your Soul radio broadcast. Along the way, I also earned a Master of Sacred Literature and a Doctor of Religious Studies. For more content from D. Richard Ferguson, visit TreasuringGod.com. Acts 14.1-28 - Two Missionaries Preaching
2026/10/19
This sermon examines the missionary journey of Paul and Barnabas as recorded in Acts 14, highlighting the consistent opposition they faced from both Jewish and Gentile communities. The central message emphasizes that the true relationship with God is founded strictly on His grace rather than human works, and that faithful preaching of the Word inevitably invites resistance. The text explores the theological implications of Paul's resurrection after being stoned, suggesting a profound spiritual encounter, while contrasting the humility of true ministers with the self-aggrandizement of modern religious figures. The preacher argues that entering the kingdom of God requires enduring tribulation, and that the early church's success was built on the sacrificial lives of its leaders who remained steadfast despite persecution. The lesson concludes with a call for spiritual confirmation and the importance of divinely appointed leadership in the church, warning against the dangers of ungodly ministry and the closing door of faith in a hostile world.

And God Remembered Noah
2026/10/18
If God forgets nothing, what does it mean that "God remembered Noah" (Genesis 8:1)? Read Exodus 2:24 and ask whether God's remembering is a memory brought back or His mercy put into action toward His own. Then ask why the same verse names "every living thing, and all the cattle" (Genesis 8:1) beside Noah. "And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;" (Genesis 8:1)

An All-Nighter in Troas
2026/10/18
1. A Lengthy Sermon on the Lord's Day 2. A Young Man Raised from the Dead 3. A Church Feasting on Truth This sermon examines the narrative of Paul's extended preaching and the resurrection of Eutychus in Troas, highlighting the significance of gathering on the first day of the week for worship. The text argues that Paul's lengthy sermon was an exceptional circumstance driven by his impending departure, rather than a norm for all preaching, emphasizing the need for wisdom in determining the manner and length of teaching. The incident of Eutychus falling asleep serves as a vivid illustration of human limitation and the necessity of heart examination, while also demonstrating God's mercy toward human weakness. The resurrection of the young man is presented as a tangible illustration of the spiritual life transferred from Christ to believers through the gospel. Finally, the congregation's desire to continue discussing the word until dawn underscores the vital importance of a fervent, consistent hunger for God's truth within the church community.
