A House of Presence
2026/10/18
This is a very significant day in the life of our congregation together. Perhaps the most significant day came way back in 2009, seventeen years ago, when we gathered for worship as a church for the very first time. That was the day we were established. Another significant day was in April 2016, when we became a particular church, one recognized by the presbytery as self-governing through its own plurality of local elders. Now, more than a decade after that moment, we arrive at the morning of worship together in a building that we can call our own. We have crossed the desert. We have pitched and taken down the tabernacle for the last time. This morning, like Solomon did so long ago, we gather in a permanent structure and praise our God for His faithfulness to His Son and to us. We are His temple, and in His generosity, He has provided a permanent place in which we can gather to worship Him. We are the temple of God, who dwells in our building because He dwells in us.
Jesus Knows

During this time, in addition to Jesus cleaning out the temple, He performed miracles that were not recorded in the bible. Some believed as a result of these miracles, but was it a saving belief?
Exodus 33:18 - The Glory of God in Exodus - Pastor John Dean
2026/10/18
What is the glory of God, and how does the book of Exodus reveal it? When Moses asked the Lord, "Please show me your glory" (Exodus 33:18), he expressed a longing that should characterize every believer: to know God more deeply, behold His greatness, and glorify Him forever. In this introduction to a new sermon series through Exodus, Pastor John Dean explores how God's glory is revealed throughout the Old Testament and ultimately finds its fullest expression in Jesus Christ. The Exodus is more than the story of Israel's deliverance from Egypt—it is part of God's unfolding plan of redemption. Pastor John introduces three major themes that will guide the series: 1. God's Glory in Liberation: God's deliverance of Israel from slavery points forward to the greater freedom from sin found through faith in Jesus Christ. 2. God's Glory in His Covenant: The Mosaic Law reveals God's holiness and humanity's sinfulness, pointing to our need for a Savior and the better, eternal covenant established through Christ. 3. God's Glory in the Tabernacle: God's dwelling among His people foreshadows Jesus Christ, our great High Priest, whose sacrifice opens the way into God's presence. Throughout the message, Pastor John also challenges believers to examine their own hearts, resist discontentment, and find their greatest satisfaction not in the things of this world, but in the glory of God. Join us as we begin this verse-by-verse study of Exodus, discovering how the Old Testament points us to the Gospel and the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Acceptance With God
2026/10/18
Here is the dire state of humanity in unbelief. God's law shows us our guilt, but we are vastly too fallen to earn acceptance with God. Here, then, is God's promises of acceptance and righteousness as a gift, secured through faith in the saving work of Christ.
Faith Untested Is Faith Untrustworthy | Daniel 1:1–13, 18–21
2026/10/18
Daniel 1:1–13, 18–21 Daniel's experience in Babylon demonstrates the importance of establishing godly convictions before facing the pressure to compromise. Taken captive from Judah and placed in the service of a foreign king, Daniel encountered a culture that threatened to reshape his identity and allegiance. Yet Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself. His decision illustrates that faithfulness begins with an inward commitment to obey God. When confronted with a difficult situation, Daniel responded with wisdom and respect while remaining steadfast in his convictions. The account continues with a test that demonstrated Daniel and his companions' faithfulness and God's favor upon them. When they appeared before the king, they were found superior in wisdom and understanding. This passage challenges believers to consider whether their professed faith governs their choices when obedience becomes difficult. Daniel's example reminds us that convictions should be established before the moment of testing arrives. Central Truth: A faith that governs our lives must be more than a profession; it must direct our decisions when circumstances pressure us to compromise. Practical Application: Determine in your heart to obey God before facing temptation. Stand firm in biblical convictions, exercise wisdom in your responses, and trust God with the outcome.
Exodus 12A
2026/10/18
This sermon examines Exodus 12:1-6 to reveal the Passover lamb as the clearest Old Testament type of Jesus Christ. The exposition highlights how God established a new beginning for Israel, illustrating that salvation initiates a new life where Christ must be prioritized above all else. It emphasizes the sufficiency of Christ, noting that He is never too small to save any who come to Him by faith, and calls for parents to actively teach their children about this redemption. The message underscores the necessity of a spotless, sinless substitute, pointing to Jesus' perfect life and His willing death as the only means of escape from judgment. Ultimately, the sermon urges listeners to move beyond merely acknowledging Jesus as a religious figure to personally receiving Him as their own Lamb for salvation.
God's Presence

Can you hear me God?
2026/10/18
This sermon explores the emotional and spiritual depth of Jeremiah's lament in Lamentations, highlighting how the prophet felt abandoned and burdened by God's judgment on Jerusalem. The message contrasts this feeling of isolation with the enduring truth of God's faithfulness, using the parallel narrative of Job to illustrate how suffering can lead to spiritual refinement. It emphasizes that while human relationships may fail or become bitter, God's mercies are new every morning and never fail. The preacher encourages the audience to shift their focus from their circumstances to the Savior, reminding them that God is present even in the darkest times. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a daily meditation on Scripture as a source of strength and a reminder that God has not forsaken His people.
God Is Faithful. Will You Be?
2026/10/18
God is faithful. But will we answer His calling with faithful obedience? Pastor Ed Decker preaches from 1 Thessalonians 5 and 1 Corinthians 3, reminding believers that God keeps His promises, while we are called to serve faithfully and leave the increase to Him. A King James Bible message from Arnold Baptist Tabernacle. FULL DESCRIPTION (paste into YouTube/SermonAudio/Rumble as appropriate) God is faithful. Will you be? In 1 Thessalonians 5:24, the Bible declares, "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it." Join Pastor Ed Decker at Arnold Baptist Tabernacle for a message about the faithfulness of God and the believer's responsibility to answer His calling. In 1 Thessalonians 5, Paul urges Christians to remain watchful, pray without ceasing, give thanks, and hold fast to what is good. The message also draws on 1 Corinthians 3, where Paul reminds us, "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase." Our calling is to serve faithfully. The results belong to God. The challenge: Attempt great things for God. Expect great things from God. Accept God's results.
God's Amazing Grace
2026/10/18
This sermon explores the comprehensive scope of salvation presented in Ephesians 2, moving from the believer's past state of spiritual death and depravity to their present position of grace and future glory. Using the analogy of the Chilean miners rescued by a capsule, the message illustrates that salvation is a gift of God's grace received through faith, rather than a result of human effort or works. The text emphasizes the theological reality that believers are quickened, raised, and seated with Christ in heavenly places, highlighting the substitutionary atonement of Jesus as the sole basis for redemption. The tone is both convicting regarding the seriousness of sin and comforting regarding the sufficiency of God's mercy, urging listeners to trust in Christ alone. The sermon concludes by affirming that believers are God's workmanship, created for good works as a response to grace, not as a means to earn it.
