Preparation for Winter
2026/10/18
This sermon draws a parallel between Paul's urgent plea for Timothy to visit him before winter and the gospel invitation for sinners to come to Christ immediately. The central message emphasizes that salvation is simple, requiring only faith and repentance rather than prior moral reform, yet it demands decisive action and the prioritization of God above all other concerns. The preacher uses the imagery of the approaching winter and the fleeting nature of life to highlight the urgency of the hour, warning against the danger of procrastination and the assumption that future opportunities will always be available. By referencing the simplicity of the brazen serpent and the sincerity of Paul's loneliness, the message assures listeners that God's invitation is genuine and sufficient for their salvation. The tone is convicting yet comforting, urging the audience to seize the present moment to receive the peace and rest that Christ offers before the door of opportunity closes.
The Bread of Life
2026/10/18
This sermon explores the significance of Jesus declaring Himself the bread of life within the context of the Passover and the miracle of the loaves. It distinguishes between merely admiring the provision of God and actively appropriating it, using the analogy of a farmer who fails to harvest a field. The message emphasizes that Christ is the necessary, sufficient, and often despised source of spiritual life, contrasting the temporary satisfaction of worldly pleasures with the enduring fulfillment found in Him. Listeners are urged to focus on the Giver rather than the gifts, trust in Christ's work rather than their own, and take hold of Him by faith to receive everlasting life.

Thanksgiving A Duty & Blessing
2026/10/18
Come before the Lord with joyful praise and grateful hearts because He is our Maker, our Shepherd, and the faithful God whose steadfast love endures from generation to generation. Thanksgiving is more than a feeling; it is our fitting response to who God is and all He has done. As we enter His presence with praise, we remember we belong to Him and discover again the blessing of resting in His goodness and faithfulness.
Mustard Seed Faith
2026/10/17
This sermon explores the parable of the mustard seed to illustrate the profound potential of the gospel when faithfully sown. The message emphasizes that God uses small, seemingly insignificant things to bring about great results, encouraging believers to trust in His power rather than their own limitations. It highlights the necessity of dying to self for the seed to germinate and grow, reflecting the transformative work of grace in a believer's life. The preacher presents the church as a shelter where souls find refuge and nourishment, much like birds nesting in the branches of the grown tree. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a personal response to the gospel, urging listeners to allow the seed of the Word to take root and produce eternal fruit.

Somebody Prayed for Me
2026/10/15
Point 1: The Reason (Colossians 1: 9) Point 2: The Petition (Colossians 1: 9c) Point 3: The Purpose (Colossians 1: 10 - 14) This sermon examines Paul's prayer for the Colossian believers, emphasizing that earnest, unceasing prayer is a vital response to the faith and love of the church. The central petition is for God to fill believers with the knowledge of His will through spiritual wisdom and understanding, enabling them to live lives worthy of the Lord. The message highlights that this divine knowledge produces fruit in good deeds and growth in the knowledge of God, rather than relying on natural intellectual capacity. Furthermore, the sermon explains that God's power strengthens believers not to remove trouble, but to display patience and steadfastness during trials. Ultimately, the purpose of this prayer is to cultivate a life of joyful thanksgiving, rooted in the assurance of sharing in the saints' inheritance in the light.
Glorifying God
2026/10/14
This sermon explores the theological concept of glorifying God by reflecting His supreme greatness through thoughts, words, and actions. It emphasizes that human beings are created to display God's glory, much like the diversity and beauty of creation, and that this duty is motivated by the high price paid by Christ. The message outlines six key principles for living a life that honors God: scriptural adherence, proper motivation, diligent service, dependence on the Holy Spirit, constant thankfulness, and wholehearted devotion. Specific biblical passages are cited to illustrate how everyday actions, from eating to working, should be performed with a consciousness of God's presence and for His glory. The tone is instructional and pastoral, urging believers to avoid self-centeredness and lukewarmness, instead pursuing a humble, grateful, and consistent witness that leads others to praise the Father.
That He May Judge His People
2026/10/14
When the mighty God calls the heavens and the earth, whom does He call them to witness against? Read verse 4 and ask whether He comes to judge the heathen or His own people. Then read 2 Thessalonians 1:8 and ask whether them "that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Thessalonians 1:8) are men who never knew God. "He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people." (Psalm 50:4)
