Jacob and Esau
2026/10/21
In Genesis 33:8-11, both Jacob and Esau said they had enough. But Jacob only had enough. Both Jacob and Esau had enough physical wealth, but Esau did not have spiritual wealth. Jacob did. Do you have enough? Not just physically, but spiritually. Both Jacob and Esau had enough physically, but only Jacob had enough spiritually.
Matthew 5.1-12 - Sermon on the Mount
2026/10/20
This sermon provides a verse-by-verse exposition of the Beatitudes in Matthew 5, emphasizing that true blessedness is rooted in spiritual humility rather than material wealth or self-esteem. The speaker argues that acknowledging one's total depravity and sinfulness is the necessary prerequisite for salvation, citing David's confession in Psalm 51 as a model of honest self-assessment. Each beatitude is presented as a divine fact describing the character of God's saints, who mourn over sin, submit to God's chastening, hunger for righteousness, and extend mercy despite their own unworthiness. The tone is pastoral and convicting, urging listeners to rely entirely on God's grace and the finished work of Christ, while warning against the false security of self-righteousness or the world's approval. The message concludes by affirming that those who remain faithful in the face of persecution possess an eternal inheritance that no earthly loss can diminish.
Solomon's Pleasure Experiment
2026/10/19
This sermon examines Solomon's deliberate experiment with pleasure in Ecclesiastes 2, analyzing why his pursuit of joy through laughter, wine, and material wealth ultimately resulted in futility. The message argues that earthly pleasures cannot provide an escape from life's difficulties, nor can possessions recreate a perfect paradise, as they remain infected by sin and the brokenness of the world. By highlighting Solomon's failure to find profit in his highest achievements, the text demonstrates that placing excessive value on temporal happiness leads to misery rather than fulfillment. The preacher emphasizes that while pleasure is a gift from God, it must not be expected to cure the fundamental brokenness of human existence. True and lasting happiness is found only in Christ, who offers the eternal profit that earthly pursuits cannot provide.

Will The Rich Go To Hell?
2026/10/18
The sermon rightly interprets the Beatitudes in Luke 6 by arguing that Jesus' pronouncements of blessing and woe are not based on economic status but on one's faith in Christ and persecution for His sake. It contends that material poverty is not inherently virtuous, nor is wealth sinful, but rather that believers are blessed when they endure hatred and loss for the Gospel, while unbelievers face judgment for their opposition. The message emphasizes that the solution to societal issues like hunger and homelessness is spiritual redemption through faith in Jesus, which grants believers the status of Abraham's heirs. Finally, the preacher calls for a radical imitation of God's character by extending kindness and mercy to enemies, asserting that such actions reflect the nature of the Heavenly Father and demonstrate true discipleship.

Enjoy!
2026/10/18
We're picking back up with our somewhat occasional series looking at the wisdom literature of Ecclesiastes, and we find ourselves at the beginning of Chapter 2. Here the Preacher "makes a test" of pleasure and wealth, but he does it in some particular ways that may lead to some particular questions…how good are the good things of life? Are they really that good? Or any good? We'll see what the Preacher says and hopefully take away some good applications for ourselves.

One Thing You Lack
2026/10/18
A wealthy young man comes to Jesus believing he's only missing one last piece to complete his spiritual collection. But Jesus exposes the truth: the "one thing" he lacks is actually everything. This sermon explores how our instinct to collect—whether possessions, achievements, or even moral accomplishments—reveals deeper beliefs and misplaced affections. Through Jesus' encounter with the rich young ruler in Mark 10, we see that salvation isn't something we add to an already good life; it's a total reorientation of the heart. Only when we release our idols and come to Christ like a child—empty‑handed, dependent, and trusting—do we find the treasure that truly satisfies. The message challenges listeners to examine what they treasure most and invites them to discover the incomparable riches found in following Jesus.
Vanity of Vanities
2026/10/18
The sermon explores the central theme of Ecclesiastes, asserting that a life lived without God is characterized by profound restlessness and emptiness. It argues that human wisdom, worldly pleasures, and material wealth are ultimately vain and cannot satisfy the eternal soul, which is inherently restless until it finds its source in the Creator. The message critiques the modern church's tendency to rely on secular psychology and human reasoning, urging believers to abandon these distractions and return to the sufficiency of God's Word. By contrasting the fleeting nature of earthly pursuits with the enduring peace found in Christ, the sermon calls for a daily decision to trust in divine truth rather than human ideals. It concludes with a pastoral invitation to find true rest and fulfillment only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who alone can fill the spiritual vacuum within every person.

11 - The Causes and the Violations of the Law – Part 3 [B]
2026/10/15
What does Amos 6 teach us about the dangers of arrogance and prosperity? Israel's leaders were living in luxury, trusting in their wealth, military strength, and political influence rather than in God. They had become self-absorbed, indifferent to injustice, and convinced that divine judgment was far off. But God reminds them of once-great cities that had fallen and warns that their own destruction and captivity are certain. This lesson examines how arrogance leads to self-deception, why prosperity can be a greater test than adversity, and how God's righteous judgment follows generations of gracious warnings to seek Him and live.
