3 A deeper look at Judas—Could You Betray Jesus Too? - Mark 14:10-21
2026/10/19
Why did Judas Iscariot betray Jesus? Was it really just about 30 pieces of silver—or was something far more dangerous happening in his heart? In this in-depth Bible study of Mark 14:10–16, we explore the betrayal of Jesus Christ, the spiritual danger of loving money, and the remarkable truth that God's sovereign plan was unfolding even through humanity's most wicked actions. Judas was not an outsider. He was one of the Twelve disciples who had walked with Jesus, witnessed His miracles, and heard His teaching. Yet he chose money over Christ. How could this happen? And what warning does his betrayal hold for us today? In this episode, we examine the human and divine dimensions of Jesus' journey to the cross. My sermons are the fruit of nearly 30 years of pastoral ministry, biblical counseling, formal seminary training, and a lifelong passion for God's Word. Since childhood, I've been drawn to the beauty and power of expository preaching—opening Scripture verse by verse and applying it to real life. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute, I spent the next 27 years serving as a youth pastor, senior pastor, church planter, and host of the Food For Your Soul radio broadcast. Along the way, I also earned a Master of Sacred Literature and a Doctor of Religious Studies. For more content from D. Richard Ferguson, visit TreasuringGod.com. 26-10-18 Value of Higher Education in Ministry
2026/10/18
Value of Higher Education in Ministry Faith Debate: Sunday, October 18th, 2026 (10/25/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) This discourse centers around the question, "Must a pastor be seminary trained?" The participants articulate a spectrum of perspectives, acknowledging both the merits and pitfalls associated with formal theological education. The panelists suggest that seminary training can equip individuals with vital knowledge and skills, but debate if it's a requirement for pastoral ministry. The speakers emphasize the paramount importance of character and spiritual maturity over academic credentials, suggesting that effective leadership stems from one's relationship with Scripture and the community rather than solely from formal education. And what about the view that says seminary training might enhance a pastor's capabilities, but head knowledge means little for effective ministry compared to a man's character and commitment to biblical teachings? 324. Why Paul Recommended Singleness
2026/10/15
Why would the apostle who calls marriage a living picture of Christ and the church also tell some people not to marry? In the final episode of our Christ and culture series, Dr. Marcus Mininger takes up 1 Corinthians 7 and a claim that rarely makes it into church life: good things can still be the wrong things to build your life around. He moves from Paul's logic to the questions it raises about discretionary income, a nicer car, a political donation, a well-drilling project, and the careers we steer our children toward. He also tells why he turned away from Special Forces, politics, and graduate philosophy to study what lasts the longest. Cultural life matters, but how much of your life should it get? Listen, then pass it to the pastor, elder, or friend who is wrestling with that question.

2 Six Signs You’re Falling Asleep Spiritually (Mark 14:1–9)
2026/10/12
Could you be drifting into spiritual sleep without even realizing it? Discover six biblical warning signs of spiritual complacency in this in-depth, expository sermon on Mark 14:1–9. Spiritual sleep rarely happens overnight. Just as a driver can gradually fall asleep behind the wheel without recognizing the danger, Christians can slowly lose their spiritual alertness. Fear of God diminishes, sin becomes less troubling, worship loses its significance, and the promises of Scripture no longer seem as real as they once did. In this message, we examine Jesus' anointing at Bethany and discover what the contrasting responses of Mary, the disciples, and the religious leaders reveal about the condition of our hearts. 26-10-11 Meet Jesus Christ
2026/10/11
Meet Jesus Christ Faith Debate: Sunday, October 11th, 2026 (10/18/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) A man says he met a woman named Christina in 2023 while he was sitting on a front porch swing. She walked across the lawn carrying an iPad, like many salespeople do. The young lady sat in front of this man and his wife and began speaking about history, the Bible, and the church. Then she added that she knew the man was born with water on the brain, which is true. This seemed very supernatural, and so tears filled the couple's eyes as they contemplated what they were experiencing. This angelic-type presence didn't say how she knew the medical information; she simply looked up at the sky and smiled, telling the man three times, "You don't get it". Then she turned, and using her iPad brought a cool breeze from the north that moved through the treetops in a rotation specifically around the house and its street. Finally, she looked the man in the eyes and told him that she was sent by God with a message: "You've been kept alive to protect innocent people from evil". What should a Christian think about such a happening? Some quickly dismiss it as a lie. But if the story is real, and not a fabrication, what then? The panel continues to consider all of this in part 4 of a 4 of a unique series. Find The Faith Debate at wfmd.com, ChristianPodcastCommunity.org, & podcast platforms like SermonAudio & Odysee.
