Take Heed Lest Ye Fall
2026/10/18
This sermon examines the spiritual privileges of the nation of Israel, including their redemption, sustenance, and divine presence, to illustrate that spiritual privilege does not guarantee faithfulness. The central message warns believers against the sinful practices of lust, idolatry, fornication, and murmuring, which led to the judgment of the majority of the Exodus generation. By contrasting Israel's experiences with the completed work of Christ, the text emphasizes that believers are called to a higher standard of obedience and humility. The preacher urges the audience to view Scripture as a pattern for admonition, steering their lives by the light of God's Word rather than their own perceptions. Ultimately, the message calls for vigilance in the Christian race, urging believers to remain faithful and avoid the danger of becoming complacent or spiritually stagnant.

The sermon explores the spiritual significance of God providing water from the rock at Rephidim, identifying Christ as the ultimate source of life and satisfaction. It contrasts the temporary relief of worldly pursuits with the eternal fulfillment found in Jesus, emphasizing that He is the only foundation capable of sustaining believers through life's trials. The message strongly condemns the spirit of murmuring and complaint, arguing that such attitudes reveal a lack of trust in God's sovereign plan and weaken the faith of the community. Instead, believers are called to cultivate contentment and gratitude, recognizing that God works all things for good and provides for every need. The sermon concludes with an invitation to trust in God's faithfulness, urging listeners to replace anxiety with the peace that comes from standing on the rock of Christ.
Children of God
2026/09/27
This sermon examines the exhortation in Philippians 2 to conduct oneself without complaining or disputing, framing this behavior as a reflection of the believer's identity as an adopted child of God. The central argument contrasts the 'crooked and perverse generation' with the 'blameless and harmless' nature expected of Christians, who are called to shine as lights in the world. By referencing the humility of Christ and the historical tendency of Israel to murmur, the text argues that dissatisfaction and argumentation are incompatible with the Spirit of adoption. The message urges believers to rely on the ordinary means of grace and to exhibit dignity and peace in their interactions, thereby demonstrating the transformative power of their relationship with the Father.

Resourceful Groaners (video)
2026/09/20
This sermon has two points: "What Hinders Perseverance?" and "What Encourages Perseverance?" James answers the first by saying "grudge not." Literally, he means groaning and murmuring against another believer. The answer to the second question is "the Lord is pitiful - full of pity - and of tender mercy." By God's mercy at the cross we were redeemed and by HIs mercy in life we are kept.

PAINT WITH WHAT YOU’VE GOT!

PAINT WITH WHAT YOU'VE GOT!["Stop Looking at What You're Missing and Start Using What God Gave You"] Exodus 4:1-5 KJV Sarah Biffin was born in England in 1784 without arms or normally developed legs. As a young girl she entered the world of traveling exhibitions, where audiences watched her demonstrate remarkable abilities. Sarah learned to paint intricate miniature portraits by controlling her brush without hands. Her artistic talent eventually received serious recognition, professional instruction and royal patronage, and her work was exhibited at the Royal Academy. Her remarkable life provides the backdrop for a biblical question God asked Moses: "What is that in thine hand?" — Exodus 4:2 KJV My prayer is to challenge believers to stop concentrating on what they lack and surrender what God has already given them. I. STOP CRYING OVER WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE Your Limitation Does Not Have to Become Your Excuse. II. DON'T LET SOMEBODY ELSE'S LABEL BECOME YOUR LIMIT They Saw an Attraction—Somebody Else Saw an Artist. III. GIVE GOD WHAT YOU'VE GOT A Little Becomes Much When It Is Surrendered. Moses had a rod. David had a sling. A widow had a little oil. A boy had five loaves and two fishes. Sarah Biffin had a paintbrush she couldn't hold in a hand. What has God put in your life? Stop waiting until you have what somebody else has. PAINT WITH WHAT YOU'VE GOT!

Ever Since
2026/09/15
Ever Since This message centers on three simple words that describe the life of faith: for, with, and through. God does something for us, we respond with faith, and then He works through us for His glory. Israel had experienced the mighty works of God in Egypt and the wilderness, but at Kadesh-Barnea most of the people failed to mingle what God had said with faith. Joshua and Caleb were different. They saw the same giants and fortified cities, but they interpreted what they saw through the promise and character of God. Caleb becomes the great example of an "ever since" faith. Forty-five years after God spoke concerning him, Caleb could still say, in effect, "Ever since the Lord spoke that word, I have been living on it." The promise did not keep Caleb from having to walk through the wilderness, but it kept him faithful through the wilderness. While an unbelieving generation murmured, complained, and died around him, Caleb continued to wholly follow the Lord. At eighty-five years old, he was still strong in faith and ready to say, "Give me this mountain." The message emphasizes several truths: • What God says about a thing is more important than the thing itself. Israel's manna, their circumstances, the giants, and the land all had to be understood through what God had spoken. • Faith is not denying reality; it is interpreting reality through God's Word. Caleb saw the giants, but he also knew the Lord was with them. • Unbelief affects more than ourselves. Israel's refusal to trust God affected the next generation, while Caleb's faith became an inheritance for his children. • We need "ever since" moments. These are places in our lives where God has saved us, spoken
And be ye thankful
2026/09/13
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. (Colossians 3:15) *1/ That which leads to a thankful spirit. 2/ How a thankful spirit is evidenced. 3/ Examples of those who showed a thankful spirit, as recorded in scripture.* **Sermon Summary:** The sermon exhorts believers to cultivate a thankful spirit by reflecting on their union with Christ and the security of their salvation. It identifies key theological foundations for gratitude, including redemption, justification, and the hope of eternal glory. The preacher emphasizes that thankfulness is both a duty and a privilege, serving as a vital witness to the world amidst trials. Examples from Scripture illustrate how genuine faith manifests as praise even in adversity, encouraging the congregation to reject murmuring. Ultimately, the message calls for a life consecrated to God through consistent gratitude and reliance on His sovereign mercy.
Zacchaeus Sought And Found
2026/09/08
Luk 19:1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. Luk 19:2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. Luk 19:3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. Luk 19:4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. Luk 19:5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. Luk 19:6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. Luk 19:7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. Luk 19:8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. Luk 19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. Luk 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Does Real Suffering Excuse Sin?
2026/09/07
Stress, grief, exhaustion, low blood sugar, hormonal problems, depression and severe trials can weaken us and intensify temptation. They can call for compassion and appropriate mercy - but do they remove personal responsibility? Are there also double standards? For example, women are sometimes given a free pass because of hormones or emotional suffering, while men are still expected to control anger, aggression and harmful behavior. Should either sex be excused? Real suffering may explain why obedience became harder, but it does not make cruelty, violence, hatred, adultery or abandonment of duty, right. The Biblical balance is compassion for suffering, but accountability for all evil responses.
Do Not Murmur Against One Another

GOD SPEAKS TO HIS PEOPLE
2026/09/06
GOD SPEAKS TO HIS PEOPLE. Exodus 3:1–6, 11–15; 4:28–31 KJV In Exodus 3 and 4, God met Moses during an ordinary day and called him from the burning bush. Moses learned that God is holy, personal, and sufficient. When Moses asked, "Who am I?" God answered with the greater truth: "Certainly I will be with thee." God then revealed Himself as "I AM THAT I AM," showing that Moses's calling depended not upon Moses's strength but upon God's character and presence. Moses eventually carried God's message to Israel, the people believed, and they worshipped. The lesson reminds us that God speaks through the truth of His Word. Our responsibility is to listen reverently, trust Him completely, obey what He says, and share His truth with others. God speaks; we listen; we respond.
