JRS185 Speedy J
2026/10/08
The 185th episode of the Jeton Records Radio Show welcomes Speedy J, from Rotterdam. Jochem Paap, better known as Speedy J, has been one of the defining figures in European techno since the early 1990s. Emerging alongside artists such as Laurent Garnier, Aphex Twin and Richie Hawtin, his early releases on Plus 8, Warp and Novamute helped shape a period when techno was rapidly expanding beyond its Detroit origins. Across albums including Ginger, G Spot, Public Energy No. 1 and Loudboxer, Speedy J continually moved between different sides of electronic music, from atmospheric and experimental productions to uncompromising club-focused techno. His work has also extended beyond conventional releases into audiovisual projects such as Umfeld, collaborations with other artists, and new approaches combining live hardware, software and DJ performance. Through Electric Deluxe, Speedy J created a platform for his own work as well as music from artists including Chris Liebing, Tommy Four Seven and Terrence Fixmer. More recently, he founded STOOR, a Rotterdam-based studio, label and live performance project built around hardware improvisation and collaboration. Its sessions bring multiple artists together around interconnected machines, creating electronic music collectively and in real time. More than three decades after his first Speedy J releases, he remains closely connected to the development of techno through production, performance, collaboration and experimentation with technology. We’re honored to feature Speedy J on this month’s Jeton Records Radio Show with his set recorded live at Torax in Barcelona on May 11th, 2025. Enjoy!

His productions have appeared on respected techno labels including Mord, Soma, Symbolism, Edit Select, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Faut Section, and MindTrip. He also runs his own imprint, SMUTA, focused on a futuristic approach to techno. His career has taken him across Europe and South America, while his early years included appearances at events such as Gamma Festival and Monasterio Factory. Alongside producing and DJing, Lidvall teaches techno production and gives lectures where he shares his creative methods and production techniques. We’re pleased to feature Lidvall on this month’s Jeton Records Radio Show with his set recorded live at Zgub, Ciało Club in Wroclaw, Poland, on March 14th, 2026. Enjoy!

2026/05/09
The 180th episode of the Jeton Records Radio Show welcomes 01100110, from Berlin. The journey of 01100110 began early with classical piano, later evolving into electronic music production during their teenage years. After moving to Berlin, their path naturally expanded into DJing through self-organized spaces within the city’s underground scene, particularly in queer and left-wing communities. This approach is also reflected in their productions, where rhythm, texture, and tonal depth play a central role. Their music has been released on labels such as ARTS, Planet Rhythm, and FLASH, establishing a clear identity within the deeper and more hypnotic side of techno. We’re pleased to feature 01100110 on this month’s Jeton Records Radio Show with his exclusive mix. Enjoy!

Rather than relying on pre-recorded material, he constructs his music in real time using synthesizers, drum machines, and sequencers — following a strict “what you see is what you get” philosophy. The result is a constantly evolving blend of techno and house shaped directly in front of the audience. His journey began in the underground rave scene of London, where the DIY spirit of illegal parties helped shape his approach to live performance. Since then, Saytek has brought his improvised machine music to some of the most respected clubs and festivals worldwide, including Space Ibiza, Tresor Berlin, Awakenings, and Rave The Planet. Over the years he has released an extensive catalogue of music, including more than nine albums and hundreds of tracks — many of them recorded live. JRS177 Ackermann
2026/02/08
The 177th episode of the Jeton Records Radio Show welcomes Ackermann, from Stuttgart. Following a break from touring due to long COVID, Ackermann returned to the scene in late 2025 with shows in Berlin and Dublin. During this time away from clubs, his studio output reached new heights. His work on Marco Faraone’s UNCAGE imprint saw multiple EPs chart in the Beatport Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic) Top 3, including a remix of Consciousness by Marcal, which became the genre’s best-selling track of 2021. Ackermann has collaborated with artists like Vinicius Honorio and Michael Klein, and remixed tracks for Anja Schneider, Marco Faraone, Carlo Lio, and Don Rimini. His productions have landed on respected labels like Suara, BCCO, Outerworld, and his own Safe Space, which has grown into a trusted source for hypnotic, groove-driven techno. Supported by names such as Ben Klock, Pan-Pot, Charlotte de Witte, Len Faki, Radio Slave, Amelie Lens, Marcel Dettmann, and Chris Liebing, Ackermann continues to earn recognition as one of techno’s most consistent and prolific voices.
