Description

Mosaic Lincoln is a community following Jesus in practicing rhythms of grace to bring renewal to a weary and burdened world. Our desire is to come together as a people unencumbered by the cultural and religious expectations of our time. Instead, we will focus on receiving and extending the grace of God. Our hope is to work together to cultivate safe spaces within our church family, our neighborhoods and our shared networks where people can lean into each other’s stories and experience the restoration of Jesus together.

Sanctuaries in Miniature: A Theology of Home
2026/09/14
What would it mean to believe God is encountered not only in worship gatherings but in the way someone speaks to his/her spouse, parents bless their children, children honor their parents, people eat together, forgive one another, offer hospitality and welcome strangers? Home isn't where real ministry stops or scales back. It's where it begins! After all, the home – not the local church building – is the place where God's presence, God's blessing, and God's welcome become most visible to us and others. Scripture: Ezekiel 11:16, Genesis 18
Themes From the Table: A Savior in Our Exile
2026/08/31
Exile can be both literal and metaphorical – a physical displacement from home and a deeper experience of living in a place, season, or circumstance where we feel unsettled, disconnected, or longing for something more permanent. JRR Tolkien wrote to his son, "Our whole nature at its best and least corrupted, its gentlest and most humane, is still soaked with a sense of exile." Yet Jesus knows exile full well as he left his heavenly home to make a home with us in our wilderness experience as we wait for the permanent home prepared for us and coming to us in the age to come. The faithful one is faithfully with us as we orient ourselves to his presence even in our experiences of exile. Scripture: Hebrews 11:13-16
Themes From the Table: When Love Doesn’t Seem to Work
2026/08/17
"On the night he was betrayed..." Sometimes in life, love doesn't seem to 'work.' Jesus is no stranger to this reality. God risks humanity's refusal in every moment. And yet he continually moves towards us and loves us. What might this ask of us? There is no safe investment in choosing to love, but there is union with Christ and a power at work transforming everything. Scripture: 1 Corinthians 11:23, 1 John 4:17-19
Themes From the Table: Fullness In Our Scarcity
2026/07/27
There is a scarcity mindset in our world telling us we don't have enough, we haven't done enough, and we don't measure up enough. Of, we need to hoard and monopolize whatever resources we can so they don't end up in the hands of someone else. This is not the way for followers of Jesus. God's abundance generally doesn't arrive in our preferred ways, but there is a fullness available to God's people even in the scarcest of times. Scripture: Exodus 16:16, 19-20, John 6:54
Themes From the Table: Expanding Our View of Family
2026/07/13
As the fragility of the nuclear and biological family becomes exposed from the pressures of life, we are invited to expand our view of our brothers and sisters. God, in Christ, is growing a new human family with many arms available to one another to catch us when we fall and provide support in our journeys. Just as Jesus has moved toward each of us, we move toward one another in love. Scripture: Matthew 12:45-50, Mark 10:29-30, John 1:12-13
Themes From the Table: A Taste of Joy
2026/06/22
The table Jesus prepares for us is an ongoing invitation to allow the heaviness of our hearts to experience a taste of joy and relief. Although our hearts can often draw back from living within the hope of the story of God's promise of rescue and never-ending joy, the mysterious presence of Jesus at the table bids us welcome. The end is the ongoing feast of which we are invited to taste and experience even now in moments together at Jesus' table. Scripture: Psalm 16
Themes From the Table: A Broken Savior for Broken Bodies
2026/06/08
Being present with the brokeness (material and immaterial) in our own bodies and the bodies of others is a difficult thing. But we have a God who entered our broken humanity to be in solidarity with us. Will we honor his presence with us in this brokenness and allow him to be at home with us in those broken places? Even there, he is holding us until the coming age of full renewal. Scripture: Psalm 139:7-10
Themes From the Table: Delighting in Communion
2026/06/01
To be human is to long for relational communion, and the essence of Christian communion is delighting in others for who they are as God's image bearers, not for what they can offer us. In this teaching, we explore the beautiful communion of the Trinity (Father, Son and Spirit) welcoming each of us into their communion of delight so we can share this with one another. This movement in our lives is essential to the healing and repair of the world in which we're often invited to not delight in others and to even remain in hostility with others and seeing them for only what they bring to us. Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 11, Genesis 3, Isaiah 40:27
Themes From the Table: Living Within Pain and Promise
2026/05/19
In a world filled with trouble, we're reminded of the promise of hope that has been shown to us in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus and one day will fully be present among us. At the Lord's table we're reminded pain and promise are odd dance partners, but we're called to presently live in this tension. For whenever we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim the Lord's death (pain, death and sorrow in the human experience) until he comes (hope and promise). Scriptures: John 12:24, John 16:33, 1 Peter 5:9-10, 1 Corinthians 11
Awareness of How We Are Loved
2026/05/11
•Opening Worship •19:04 Message: The more aware we are of being loved, the more able we are to love. Will we root ourselves in the love of God enveloping us at all times so we can keep soft, generative hearts even in the midst of our hearts sometimes being paralyzed, calloused or condescending? Jesus is inviting us on this journey. Scripture: John 13:3-4, Hebrews 13:12-14, Ephesians 3:17-19
Easter Recalibration in Liminal Spaces
2026/04/20
•Opening Worship •18:18 Rachel and Mosaic Kids •29:01 Message - The season of Easter is a time to recalibrate our lives toward the risen Christ as Lord. The epistle to the Hebrews was written to people living in a liminal space of having to think and act in new ways. Many today are realizing they are being invited to live and act in new ways in the midst of a chaotic world. As the writer of Hebrews reminds us, here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. So, let us go to Jesus outside the camp. Scripture: Hebrews 13:12-14

Trusting Jesus in Life and in Death
2026/03/16
•00:00 Opening Worship •10:40 Ministry Moment with Libby of Mosaic Kids •35:55 Message | In a world of war and nation-states seeking self-protection, riches, and dominance over others, we are reminded that to follow Jesus is to embrace an existence of vulnerability centered on blessing others. Scripture: Hebrews:1-3
Go to Yourself in God's Story
2026/03/02
•00:00 - 21:39 Communal Worship •21:40 - 32:57 Ybor/Bill moment •32:58 This week's teaching explores the free opportunity God has given each of us to go to our truest selves as we entrust ourselves to God's care for us in Jesus Christ. Our frail, human journeys have a Story to call home as we receive our lives as a sheer gift by entrusting ourselves to God's care. Scripture: Genesis 12 and Romans 4
The Foolishness of the Cross
2026/02/02
In this teaching we discover the cross is our invitation into discovering experiences of inner scarcity are the portals into both receiving the tenderness and kindness of God and then offering self-emptying love toward neighbor. God is kinder to us than we are to ourselves as we embrace the cross and God's wisdom found there. Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:18-31
