Grey and B_Don are back to finish up the infield for the 2024 positional rankings with 3B on this week’s episode of the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast. We discuss the depth of the position. At the top, what separates Austin Riley and Rafael Devers? The rest of the guys you’re drafting for 3B are a mix of crusty vets and young up and comers. Is the upside of Royce Lewis worth his draft cost? The names we know seem safe, but we discuss the safety level we feel on Nolan Arenado, Manny Machado, and Alex Bregman. Josh Jung and Noelvi Marte both had nice starts to 2023. Will they keep it up in 2024? Grey and B_Don are back for the next installation of positional rankings on the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast with the shortstops, SS. Are you ready for the Bo Bichette discussion again? Because it’s going to happen, again. We talk about the other guys in the tier with Bo that B_Don has over Bo. We move on in the SS rankings to talk about the Cruz’s at SS with each of us coming to the defense of our own favorite Cruz. SS is top heavy in the overall rankings, but then there’s a drop followed by another big drop. If you miss out and have to take somebody after one of the drops, we’ll tell you who we like in that area of desperation.

On this week’s Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast, Grey and B_Don continue the positional rankings for 2024 with 2B. Who will be the player we compare to everyone this week at the position? The guys differ on how they view the 2nd tier at the position, but agree on the names there in Jose Altuve, Matt McLain, and Nico Hoerner. 2B offers a mix of capabilities for your fantasy builds, and the guys discuss where those tiers breaks are for them. At some point, we cross over into the world of middle infielder land where you should have grabbed your 2B by then. Grey and B_Don are back for another episode of the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast as we continue going through Grey’s positional rankings. After the scintillating 2 hours on catchers, it’s time to move to the corner and talk about 1B ranks. We talk about the depth of the position and where you likely want to grab your 1B and then fill your CI spot if it is going to come from this position. There are some young 1B making their mark in guys like Triston Casas, Nolan Jones, and Spencer Steer. Find out where they rank against vets like Paul Goldschmidt. Both the guys think there’s some ADP value to be had at the position and a couple guys they probably won’t get vs ADP. This is apparently the year where we find one player in the top 10 and say every player at the position can be them. Find out who that is for 1B.

Grey and B_Don are back on the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast to start the positional rankings for 2024. Where would we start our positional rankings? Our favorite position, of course, catcher. Sure, all the catchers are ranked, but couldn’t they all be #1? Everyone is basically Will Smith or JT Realmuto or Salvador Perez if you look hard enough. Where would Grey actually draft a catcher in 1 or 2 catcher leagues? There are some young catchers popping up, and just how far does Grey have them rising in the rankings.

Grey and B_Don are back for the first Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast of 2024 where we are looking at Grey’s Top 20 rankings. Grey says there’s no question who will be at #1 in every draft this year. After #1 though, there’s still a top tier of hitters including Julio Rodriguez, Bobby Witt Jr., Corbin Carroll, and Kyle Tucker. Even if you miss out on those guys, there’s still plenty of talent left out there. Can you guess how many pitchers Grey has in his top 20? There’s one player in Grey’s top 20 that B_Don doesn’t think belongs. Surely we can’t go long on the podcast with only 20 players to talk about right…right?

Grey and B_Don return to the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast to discuss the happenings from the MLB Winter Meetings. While Grey missed his opportunity to hangout with a Japanese baseball legend, the greatest Japanese baseball legend (maybe just baseball in general), Shohei Ohtani, is holding the baseball world captive with his free agency decision. In other news, this little team in New York traded for Juan Soto and Trent Grisham while the Padres got back Michel King and some other young arms. The Yankees also acquired another outfielder in Alex Verdugo, but how do the guys see the playing time shaking out in NYC. The Mariners and Braves swapped some players including Jarred Kelenic going to Atlanta and smashing our Vaughn Grissom dreams yet again. Free agent signings have begun, and the Diamondbacks jumped right in by bringing in Eduardo Rodriguez. The Cardinals are bringing in veterans Sonny Gray, Lance Lynn, and Kyle Gibson. Jeimer Candelario joins the Reds and B_Don is taking it hard. Craig Kimbrel joins Baltimore with their closer spot open while Felix heals. Jackson Chourio signs and Grey is excited about the possibilities.

Grey and B_Don go through a draft of the top 25 fantasy baseball players for 2024. We discuss where the tier breaks are in the rankings. Where did the draft go from clear to hazy to muddied. After we draft our 25, we talk about some of the other players that belong in the conversation for the rest of top 40. We talked about where we got things right and where we got things right, but did we learn? How many pitchers get drafted with Grey and I picking players?

Grey and B_Don are here for the last podcast for the 2023 season (we’ll be back next week, but doing our 2024 draft). After Grey vents about the Ronald Acuna Jr. and Mookie Betts real MVP discussion, we move on to the fantasy MVP award discussion. Cody Bellinger might take home the fantasy MVP and comeback player award for 2023, but do we believe for 2024? Up next, we talk about some of the top pitcher values in Zach Eflin, Justin Steele, Kodai Senga, Pablo Lopez, and Kyle Bradish. We preliminarily rank the group of starters for 2024. Then, we talk about some of the other fantasy comebacks, most improved, and breakouts for guys like: Josh Lowe, Jake Burger, Jorge Soler, and CJ Abrams. Before we wrap up with waivers and bullpen talk, we discuss what players are our best and worst calls from 2023.

Grey and B_Don discuss who should take home the MVP, Cy Young, and Rookie of the Year awards for both leagues. We called the MVP race months ago, but do we still think so? The Cy Young for the National League is anyone’s guess even at this late stage of the season. Then, we take some time and talk about the Rookie of the Year candidates and what we expect from them next year for production and ADP. After we get through with the awards, we take a look at some of the best second half performers and if we expect them to carry it over into 2024.

Grey and B_Don talk about a couple young pitchers who ran into some trouble in George Kirby and Cole Ragans. We continue to talk about who might be the top prospect drafted next year following the Jasson Dominguez injury. Maybe it could be another late season call-up in Jordan Lawlar, Pete Crow-Armstrong, or Evan Carter. The Angels are open to trading Mike Trout, and we’re sure they’d trade Anthony Rendon if they could too. It was announced that one of the top Japanese pitchers, Shota Imanaga, will be posted to MLB this offseason. Ryan Pepiot is in the Dodgers rotation now, but could Grey trust Gavin Stone again?

Grey and B_Don start the show with some discussion about the Julio Urias situation. We talk about setting lineups for stretch runs and the amazingness that is Ronald Acuna Jr. We talk about a few of the recent MLB team claims made by the two Ohio teams.Next, we move on to talk about the September call-ups. The Yankees made a few including Jasson Dominguez, Austin Wells, and Randy Vasquez. We also talk about the call-ups and recalls of Alexander Canario, Ronny Mauricio, Brett Baty, Emmet Sheehan, Kyren Paris, Xavier Edwards, Tyler Soderstrom, and Jose Tena.
