Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz Next For Ryan Garcia?
2026/09/20
This weekend we were starved for action, but in a week with mild anticipation, as the NFL takes over the American airwaves for the second week in a row, "King" Ryan Garcia is the story. After Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz knocked out Nestor Bravo, he called out Garcia. What are the guys' thoughts on this?Mainly, WBO super middleweight world champion Hamzah Sheeraz, who won his title against largely unknown Alem Begic and made a lackluster July title defense against Simon Zachenhuber, vacated his belt. Not to mention, Zachenhuber had lost to Pawel Augustynik in April. Sheeraz has opted to not proceed with the purse bid proceedings to face Zhanibek (Janibek) Alimkhanuly. This marks the first major champion to give up a title since Peter Quillin did so in 2014, and was shunned. That decision for Quillin was one he never truly recovered from. For Sheeraz, it seems it could have deeper implications. The reason seems to be that the pay is not worth the risk.  Sheeraz has been a favorite of Riyadh Season, and with UBOs potentially going into place, could fighters now begin to question the point and purpose of sanctioning bodies? Promoters and sanctioning bodies used to have to work together, and the titles symbolized larger purses and legacy. Could fighters who, if nothing else, feel sympathetic to Zuffa Boxing potentially vacate belts? So what is next for the WBO super middleweight title? More than likely a vacant title fight between Janibek vs. Jacob Bank. The co-feature saw super middleweight Daniel Blancas defeat Sergio Jimenez, but this came after Jesus Ramos Jr fell ill the day before the weigh-in as his fight with Meiirim Nursultanov was off. The undercard was showcase fights for middleweight Olympian Eumir Marcial, who stopped Omar Ulises Huerta, and Mexican Olympic silver medalist Marco Verde, who stopped Guillermo Hernandez, but had to get off the canvas. In the U.K., cruiserweight Pat Brown won a wildly fun bout against John Hedges. Brown was losing the fight, only to rally on to stop Hedges. Also, shout-out to Mark Jeffers for getting a win over Kieron Conway and having a member of his team hook me up with his walkout song. Shabazz Masoud also won his debut at featherweight.Looking ahead to next week….The biggest card is in Japan on Sunday and broadcast on DAZN. Takuma Inoue will put his WBC bantamweight title on the line against Tenshin Nasukawa in a rematch, while fast-track Japanese star Tomoya Tsuboi will face Ricardo Malajika for the vacant WBC junior bantamweight title, and former champ Ryosuke Nishida will take on Sam Goodman for the vacant IBF interim junior featherweight title. What is most scary is how under-the-radar this card is, and how the demise of Top Rank on ESPN has seen interest in Japanese boxing dim. Zuffa Boxing returns in the U.K. Heavyweight Johnny Fisher will face Michael Pirotton in the main event. Other notable undercard bouts include light heavyweight Craig Richards vs. Radivoje “Hot Rod” Kalajdzic, and a sneaky great fight between Cesar Mateo Tapia vs. Leo Ruiz.On a regional level, Rising Star Promotions is putting on a great event including the following fights: Kyrone Davis vs. Jeison Rosario, former champ  Emmanuel Rodriguez in action, and Tyreem Haywood vs. Abram Martinez.Timestamps 0:00 Isaac Pitbull Cruz vs. Ryan Garcia18:00 Hamza Sheeraz24:43 Pat Brown28:30 Japan35:00 Takuma Inoue v. Ryan Garcia ENDS The Myth of Conor Benn, and Jai Opetaia vs David Benavidez Next...?
2026/09/14
In this livestream, Lukie and Dakota talk about Ryan Garcia's one-sided second-round knockout of Conor Benn. Why were experts divided on a fight that was so definitive? Why wasn't Oscar De La Hoya, the head honcho of Golden Boy Promotions, and Garcia's promoter there? Is Garcia the next U.S. star, or was this perfect matchmaking? Also, the guys break down Jai Opetaia's win, and then David Benavidez enters the ring afterward. A new heavyweight to watch: Da'Mazion Vanhouter looking awesome and Andres Cortes beating Mark Magsayo. Another thought: why were former champion Jose Ramirez and Alexis Rocha on the prelims? On ProBox TV, Abass Baraou defeated Giovani Santillan in a decent fight, and Dominic Valle defeated Francois Scarboro Jr. in a battle of unbeatens, and Luis Alberto Lopez looked much improved in his return; could Joseph Peres be the reason? Then the guys talk about this weekend's PBC card as Isaac Cruz faces Nestor Bravo, and Jesus Ramos Jr. returns in the co-feature.Timestamps0:00 Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn14:00 Jai Opetaia 21:00 Undercard29:45 ProBox TV31:00 Pitbull Cruz40:00 Jesus Ramos Jr44:21 undercard
Can Ryan Garcia Be The Next U.S. Star?
2026/09/06
n this livestream, the guys break down all the action, but FIRST... can Ryan Garcia become America's next boxing superstar? We head into a new era. Who will be the next top guy? Garcia will look to make his case when he faces Conor Benn in a welterweight bout. Also, Jai Opetaia will be in the co-feature, and lightweight Andres Cortes will face Mark Magsayo. Other good bouts: heavyweight Da’Mazion Vanhouter vs. Raphael Akpejiori, welterweight Jose Ramirez vs. Alexis Rocha, and Vlad Panin vs. Dakota LingerWe shift gears as we talk about Dakota's rightful pick of Damian Knyba defeating Andy Ruiz Jr. What did we learn from this fight? Also, we break down the rest of the main card, including middleweight Vito Mielnicki Jr's win over Austin "Ammo" Williams, Eridson Garcia's upset of Alan Chaves, and Zaquin Moses getting his TV debutThen, we talk about Katie Taylor's retirement fight against Flora Pili. How was her last fight? Plus, we talk about the odd bout between Thomas Carty and Dave Allen, as well as Paddy Donovan's stoppage win over Tyrone McKenna. Also, shout-out to Tokkers on X, but please watch Dylan Arbuckle versus Frankie Storey if you get a chance. We conclude by talking about a stacked ProBox TV card on Friday that features Giovani Santillan vs. Abass Baraou, Dominic Valle vs. Francois Scarboro Jr, and Luis Alberto Lopez vs. Daniel Lugo Timestamps 0:00 Ryan Garcia-Conor Benn 11:50 Jai Opetaia-Noel Mikaelan 21:33 Damian Knyba beats Andy Ruiz 28:30 Boots-Bud Crawford 31:52 undercard 41:15 Katie Taylor 47:00 undercard 49:25 ProBox TV

The Moses Itauma Era Is Over? Katie Taylor's Farewell Fight, and Andy Ruiz Jr returns
2026/08/31
In this livestream, Lukie and Dakota start by talking about Filip Hrgovic's shocking knockout loss to Moses Itauma. What does it mean for the heavyweight? Hrgovic? Itauma?  Is the heavyweight division now in another Usyk era- hardworking pros, but not so much about guys with huge promotional pushes? We also talk about the undercard involving Sam Noakes and Guido Vianello-Moses Jolly. Then we talk about the MVP card, where Chantelle Cameron defeated Mikaela Mayer, and Caroline Dubois defeated Amelia Moore. Plus, the most fun fight of the weekend saw Reina Tellez defeating Jessica Barry. Then, we look ahead this week to future women's Hall of Famer Katie Taylor having her last bout at Croke Park, against Flora Pili. Welterweight Paddy Donovan will face Tyrone McKenna in an all-Irish bout; super middleweight  Taylor Bevan versus  Emmet Brennan; the big guy at the bar fight between Dave Allen and Thomas Carty has high fun potential as well. Then, we conclude by talking about Andy Ruiz Jr's return against Damian Knyba on Friday. What are the storylines for the fight? Also, Vito Mielnicki Jr versus Austin "Ammo" Williams and Alan Chaves versus  Eridson Garcia. We briefly touched on the star potential of Lester Martinez, who stopped Luka Plantic in 10; Jordan White stopped Luis Torres Valenzuela; light heavyweight Najee Lopez knocked out Juan Carrillo; and in a shocker, Carlos Ocampo stopped Weljon Mindoro. Another notable result: Corey Marksman won a decision over Christian Barreto, and junior middleweight Alex Bray stopped Antraveous Ingram. Timestamps0:00 Intro0:20 Itauma KO loss14:45 undercard17:53 Cameron-Mayer27:30 MVP undercard30:00 Katie Taylor 35:00 undercard38:00 Andy Ruiz-Damian Knyba44:30 undercard (Ammo vs Vito, Chaves vs. Garcia)50:00 Stuff you (might have) missed
Let's Talk About Australian Boxing
2026/08/27
In this video, Lukie and  @TUSCPod (Zack) recap many topics in Australian boxing, especially after a huge fight occurred. Earlier this week, Nikita Tszyu and Ben Mahoney fought to a draw in a junior middleweight IBF eliminator bout. We talk about the fight, as well as how much PPV is hurting Australian boxing and boxing as a whole. Other topics include thoughts on Jai Opetaia, Tim Tszyu, and Moloney Brothers.Timestamps0:00 Nikita Tszyu vs. Ben Mahoney12:40 The PPV Crisis 19:37 Callum Peters23:37 Jai Opetaia29:03 Teremoana Jr35:00 Liam Paro41:13 Tim Tszyu49:50 Moloney BrothersBe sure to support Lukie with all of his content outletsSupport Lukie at the following linksSubstack: http://lukieboxing.substack.comPodcast: https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/lukieboxingiTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/boxing-with-the-lukie-boxing-podcast/id525579014
Teofimo Lopez Makes Welterweight Interesting Again & The Moses Itauma Hype
2026/08/24
Teofimo Lopez is a champion again; so what does that mean for the welterweight division? We now have three stars holding titles: Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia, and Teofimo Lopez – the lone outlier, Liam Paro, the IBF titleholder, who everyone will call out. Lopez beat Rolando Romero via a low-speed majority decision; that result makes the bout seem more interesting than it was. So what is next? Unification? Mega-fights? Inactivity? Also, Moses Itauama returns against Filip Hrgovic. The fight is on pay-per-view. YAY! A few things. How good is Itauama, and do fans in the U.S. care? It seems like the U.K. is enamoured, but unlike Anthony Joshua, Itauama doesn’t seem to have anyone casually talking about his rise. We all assume Itauama will win this fight, but what is the context and story of this fight? We go backward to talk about the PBC undercard:The co-feature could be summed up as “Dakota was right”…or at least for now. Middleweight Yoenli Hernandez had a bucket of water thrown over his meteoric rise. Francisco Veron came in underrated, with many assuming he would be stopped. Instead, the one-speed that Dakota speaks of with Hernandez was on full display. We will discuss thoughts on this. Also, Gary Antonio Russell won a form of the WBA junior featherweight title, and junior welterweight Carlos Utria was lucky to win a split decision against Israel Mercado. MVP held a card on TikTok and YouTube, with Amanda Serrano struggling to win a majority decision over Lucrecia Anabella Manzur. The fight said one thing: hard fights add up, as Serrano looked exhausted from a long career. The rest of the card had some upsets, as a friend of the show, 105 lb. Brook Sibrian upset Lupita Medina to take her undefeated record; women’s featherweight “Right Hook Roxy” Iyana Verduzco won a split decision against Miguelina Hernandez; Avious Griffin is on a three-fight knockout streak since his loss to Julian Rodriguez, and “Lady KO” Albina Moldazhanova is someone to watch for. The biggest card of the week is: Mikaela Mayer vs. Chantelle Cameron. Does the winner fight Claressa Shields? Also, Caroline Dubois will put her belts on the line against Amelia Moore; an upset is brewing, and Terri Harper vs. Miranda Reyes is an evenly matched bout that could be fun.Other notables this week: ProBox TV will be behind a $5 paywall on YouTube. Lester Martinez versus Luka Plantic is the main event; Najee Lopez vs. Juan Carrillo is your co-feature, and Ramon Cardenas also returns on the cardTimestamps0:00 Intro0:30 The State of Welterweight3:30 Teofimo vs. Rolly 15:10 Moses Itauma vs. Hrgovic26:10 Yoenli Hernandez and Israel Mercado33:17 Brook Sibrian vs. Lupita Medina37:00 Amanda Serrano vs. Lucrecia Manzur41:30 Jahmal Harvey impresses 44:30 Mikaela Mayer vs Chantelle Cameron51:08 Caroline Dubois vs Amelia Moore57:40 Itauma vs Hrgovic PPV undercard01:00:00 ProBox TV & Salita Promotions shows
Rolly Romero vs. Teofimo Lopez Final Thoughts
2026/08/21
In this show, Lukie is joined by Dakota to talk about five questions.  Will Teofimo Lopez be judged heavily by this fight? Is Rolly a Hall of Famer? How good is Yoenli Hernandez Thoughts on the rest of the undercard Amanda Serrano and her legacy
Let's Talk About The Father-Son Boxing Coach Dynamic
2026/08/21
In this video, Lukie is joined by his good friend Dave, a/k/a Shoeshine Boxing on YouTube, and they talk about the father-son relationship and coaching dynamic in boxing. They also break down the fight between Teofimo Lopez and Rolly Romero.
Is Claressa Shields The Face of American Boxing? Plus, Rolly Romero vs. Teofimo Lopez Preview
2026/08/16
With Claressa Shields’ win over Kaye Scott, she is now a middleweight titleholder again. The bigger story: the live gate. She is packing out the State Farm Arena, and the stars are out to watch her fight. In attendance were Floyd Mayweather, Terence Crawford, and Shakur Stevenson. Some of the greatest fighters of the era are treating Shields’ fights as major events. BootsHaneyRyan Garcia David BenavidezVergil OrtizThat is it? So, let’s unpack thisThe result, honestly predictable. Shields stops Scott. It was all but a given. It was her first stoppage since winning the heavyweight title from In the co-feature, middleweight Troy Isley defeated amateur rival Joseph Hicks. A lot of animosity that led to nothing. A sparring session.Ashylynn Lozada got a win, and in the shocker of the night, Bernice Ferreira won the WBC junior lightweight title when Caroline Veyre was disqualified. Also, Teremoana Jnr stopped DeAndre Savage in Australia. Is he the next heavyweight, along with Moses Itauma? Then this weekend: Rolando Romero puts his WBA welterweight title on the line against Teofimo Lopez. What are the storylines for this fight? Where is the buzz? What is going on?The undercard:Middleweight Yoenli Hernandez will face Francisco Daniel Veron, WBA interim junior featherweight titleholder Victor Santillan will face Gary Antonio Russell, and BoxingScene’s 2025 Prospect of the Year Carlos Utria will face Israel Mercado. Undercard notables: the PBC debut of Marco Romero, with Ben Johnson and Jordon Roach returning.Want to feel old? TikTok will have a fight card. Amanda Serrano looks to break Christy Martin’s KO record when she faces Lucrecia Manzur…stopped twice before. Lightweight Jahmal Harvey will be in action. Notable bouts: Avious Griffin versus Jackson Marinez, Mayelii Flores is a fun fighter, Lupita Medina vs. Brook Sibrian, and “Right Hook” Roxy Verduzco will be in action. In the U.K., George Liddard will headline another DAZN card. He faces Dario Morello. Liddard is never the point of taking a real fight. Speaking of that, Jimmy Sains will face Tom Cowling in a way too fun bout. Jimmy Sains vs. Tom Cowling, 12 rounds, for the vacant Commonwealth middleweight title, and women’s featherweight Tiah Mai Ayton will face Ellie Hellewell.Timestamps0:00 Intro15:35 Fighter's Health19:00 Salita Undercard22:10 Rolly Romero-Teofimo Lopez preview26:10 Undercard29:24 MVP33:10 Teremoana Jr
Let's Talk About The Middleweight Division (And Fighter Safety)
2026/08/14
The Thursday show is back. This week, Lukie and Dave talk about the middleweight division. Is it back? Is it the worst it has ever been? We hear a lot of opinions, not all of them positive. Let's get to the bottom of this.
Claressa Shields Returns, Aaron McKenna Is A Champion and Dina Thorslund Shows Her Talent
2026/08/11
In this episode, Lukie and Dakota talk about the career of Claressa Shields. Shields is, on paper, the most decorated women's boxer ever – two Olympic gold medals, multi-division undisputed champion – you name it, she has done it. Yet, in her match-up with Kaye Scott, there is still a subtle tone of indifference. Shields fought for the past couple of years at light heavyweight and heavyweight partially as a marketing ploy and partially out of a weight class she could enjoy life at. Now, she is going back down to middleweight, where she has had a ton of success, to face Scott. We talk about her career and what is at stake. On the undercard: junior welterweight Ernesto "Tito" Mercado faces Emmanuel Tagoe, women's WBC junior lightweight titleholder Caroline Veyre faces Bernice Ferreira, middleweight Troy Isley faces amateur rival Joseph Hicks, women's light heavyweight Danielle Perkins faces Olivia Curry, and Light heavyweight Atif Oberlton will be featured on the card. The sneaky good bout of the night is super middleweight  Da'Velle Smith, who will be in a "step your game up fight" against Hakim Lopez, the brother of Najee Lopez. Then, we recap this past week. The big news is that we have an IBF middleweight champion: Aaron McKenna. What does this mean for the division, and what does this mean for Zuffa Boxing? The undercard was alright, with Callum  Walsh winning an ugly fight against Tyler Denny. On ESPN, Dina Thorslund outclassed Cherneka Johnson to become the bantamweight undisputed champion, and probably secure her spot as a Hall of Fame boxer. In the co-main event, Tamm Thibeault defeated Desley Robinson to become a unified middleweight champion in five fights. Amanda Galle also defeated Shurretta Metcalf on the main card. We will also briefly touch on the regional bout that saw Callum Simpson avenge his lone career loss to Troy Williamson.Timestamps0:00 Intro 0:16 Claressa Shields 14:00 Tamm vs Claressa Shields 20:00 Salita undercard 25:00 Aaron McKenna  30:00 Dina Thorslund 38:50 Callum Simpson 43:00 George Foreman
William Zepeda Wins A World Title, Raymond Muratalla Fighter of the Year?
2026/08/03
In this episode, Dakota and Lukie talk about William Zepeda's impressive win over Lamont Roach Jr to win the vacant WBC lightweight title. Also, Raymond Muratalla made his final IBF lightweight title defense. We saw Raul Curiel win a debatable and uninspired performance against Quinton Randall, and Charles Conwell stopped Paul Kroll to start the TV card. Notable on the undercard, recent Golden Boy signee 17-year-old Dylan Capetillo, the son of trainer Jorge Capetillo, was knocked out in the third round by Juan Carlos Becerril. Both hit the deck. Also, Fight of the Year alert: Mark Chamberlain stopped Pierce O'Leary in a great fight. Then, we talk about the Keyshawn Davis news. Davis went to a purse bid with WBO welterweight champion Devin Haney, but appears to be going in a different direction. What is next for both? Then, this week. Cherneka Johnson will face  Dina Thorslund in a main event bout on ESPN for MVP's card that features the undisputed bantamweight champion, Johnson, against the dominant Thorslund. The co-feature will see Desley Robinson, the unified women's middleweight champion, challenging Tamm Thibeault. Also, notable, Shurretta Metcalf faces Amanda Galle. On DAZN, Troy Williamson will rematch Callum Simpson after defeating him last year; the co-feature will see light heavyweight Gradus Kraus against Sean Hemphill.Zuffa Boxing will have a card in Ireland. The main event will be Aaron McKenna vs. Etinosa Oliha. The bout as of now is for the vacant IBF middleweight title. In the co-feature, Callum Walsh will have his toughest test to date facing Tyler Denny.Timestamps0:00 William Zepeda-Lamont 10:50 Raymond Muratalla17:42 Quinton Randall-Raul Curiel21:30 Charles Conwell25:30 Dylan Capetillo29:15 Mark Chamberlain vs Pierce O’Leary 36:10 Boxing on TV39:00 Keyshawn Davis-Devin Haney46:00 MVP card 53:00 Aaron McKenna, Zuffa Boxing card59:30 Troy Williamson-Callum Simpson
