The Rooted Journey   Psalm 90 is a prayer for people learning to live faithfully in a world that never stops changing.  It begins with the greatness of God, confronts the brevity and brokenness of life, and teaches us to seek wisdom, receive mercy, and invest our lives in work that only God can make last.   Over these six weeks, we will invite God to deepen His work in us as we listen for what He wants to do through us.   Before we think about a place, we want to become a rooted people. Before we ask what we should give, we want to remember what God has already given. Before we consider what our hands can build, we will ask God to establish the work for His glory and for generations to come.   OUR PRAYER: That God would establish Awakening as a strong, mature, life-giving church for generations to come.

In a culture of endless options, we’ve learned to shop for almost everything, including church. We look for what fits our preferences, meets our needs, aligns with our values, and works with our schedules. When something no longer works for us, we move on. At the same time, many people are questioning whether church is necessary at all. We can stream worship, listen to world-class teaching, and access spiritual content without ever leaving home. Others have been disappointed, hurt, or disillusioned by the church and wonder whether it still has anything meaningful to offer. So why keep showing up? Why belong? Why commit ourselves to a community of imperfect people? In a world where church can feel increasingly optional, we’re asking a fundamental question: Why church?

GOD, WE’RE JUST GRATEFUL. For fourteen years, we’ve watched God change lives, restore hope, answer prayers, and bring people together. Join us for one special service filled with live music, real stories of life change, and a message of hope. Then stay for the birthday party with tacos, games, and fun for the whole family! Whether you’ve been part of Awakening for years, haven’t been in a while, or have never been to church, you’re invited.

Baptism is one of the oldest practices in the way of Jesus. It is simple yet mysterious, deeply personal yet profoundly communal. More than a religious tradition, baptism is a picture of grace, a declaration of faith, and a defining act of surrender and allegiance to Jesus. But what actually happens in baptism? Who is it for? And why does this ancient practice still matter? Together, we’ll discover how baptism tells the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection and declares that our old life is gone and new life has begun.

We live under almost constant pressure—what needs to be done, what we need to achieve, and what must happen next. Our lives are fuller, faster, and more connected than ever, yet many of us are exhausted, distracted, and quietly wondering whether any of it truly matters. What if the greatest danger is not that we fail, but that we spend our lives succeeding at things that will not last? ETERNAL invites us to step out of the urgency of the moment and consider how the reality of forever can reshape the way we live today. Join us as we learn from guest speaker, Dr. Charles Self.

When life freezes over and circumstances drift out of our control, where is God? Concluding our ETERNAL series, we dive into Revelation 3:7-12 and the letter to the faithful yet struggling church in Philadelphia. Drawing parallels from Sir Ernest Shackleton’s legendary Antarctic expedition aboard The Endurance, Executive Pastor, Dave Smith, will uncover how God uses an eternal perspective to anchor us when we are crushed by life's struggles and sufferings.

Sometimes it takes stepping outside your normal life to see it differently. This Sunday, Sean and Shelley Lau share a deeply personal story about an experience they never expected would impact them the way it did. What happened challenged their assumptions, reordered their priorities, and left them seeing their lives through a different lens. It’s a powerful conversation about the moments that wake us up to what matters most and change the way we live from that point forward.

We all want to experience more of God’s presence and power in our lives. But in the pace and pressure of everyday life, it’s easy to neglect the very thing our souls need most. This Sunday, we’re concluding our SUPERNATURAL series with Pray in the Spirit. Together, we’ll discover what it looks like to build a life of prayer that is honest, practical, and woven into everyday life. Come ready to experience prayer in a fresh way.

What can’t you afford to leave at home? Some battles announce themselves. Others slip in quietly—through pressure, temptation, fear, conflict, or the kind of discouragement that slowly wears you down. In Part 3 of Supernatural, we’ll discover how God equips us to stand strong when life keeps coming at us—and why what you put on before the battle determines how you stand in it.

What if the struggle you can see is connected to a battle you cannot see?   This Sunday, we continue our SUPERNATURAL series with The Invisible War, looking at Ephesians 6:12 and the spiritual battle beneath the surface of everyday life. Scripture reminds us that our struggle is not ultimately against flesh and blood, but against unseen spiritual forces that seek to discourage, distract, divide, and derail us.   Together, we’ll learn from guest speaker Steve Saccone how to recognize the battle, recognize the enemy, and remain in the fight with the strength God provides. You are not powerless. You are not alone. And in Jesus, you can stand.
