Why do we come to church? | Neil Bester
2026/09/14
Why do you come to church? It’s a simple question, but our honest answer says a lot about what we think church is actually for. Neil Bester takes us to 1 Corinthians 14, where Paul calls the church in Corinth to move past spiritual immaturity and into a bigger vision for why we gather: not to be served, but to build one another up. Every gift, every word, every act of worship is meant to strengthen faith, stir up hope, and bring comfort – so that the whole church, not just the individual, is edified. We’ll unpack Paul’s ‘intelligibility principle’ – his insistence that whatever happens in our gatherings should be understandable and build others up – and ask a challenging question for ourselves: are we showing up to church as consumers, looking to get something, or as contributors, looking to build something? Because ultimately, God is glorified when His church is edified – and that’s a job for all of us, not just those up front. Join Neil and us as we rediscover why we come to church. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
His & Hers | Louis Kotzé
2026/09/07
Men and women – made in God’s image, made for each other, and yet, as Proverbs puts it, still something of a mystery to one another. In this message, Pastor Louis explores what it means that we’re ‘one, yet two’ – one humanity, bearing one image, expressed in two distinct ways. We take an honest look at a passage many of us find puzzling or uncomfortable: 1 Corinthians 11, and Paul’s teaching on head coverings in worship. Rather than dismissing it as outdated or applying it woodenly, we dig into its context – Paul’s concern for decorum, order, and honour in public worship – to understand what it reveals about how God designed men and women to relate, honour one another, and reflect Him together. Because ultimately, this isn’t about our differences dividing us. It’s about how men and women, distinct yet united, carry God’s image together – in worship, in mission, and in the everyday spaces we share. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
The empowered church | Louis Kotzé
2026/08/31
As we end another Faith Promise pledge season, Pastor Louis looks at a simple but sobering reality: the further something moves from its centre, the harder it usually becomes to maintain its integrity. Most organisations that expand lose quality. Yet for 2 000 years, the Church has done the opposite – pushing consistently outward from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, without losing what it started with. How? Because the Church doesn’t rely on centralised control – it relies on one Saviour, and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. We’re not a head office; we’re a hospital that heals, a training camp that equips, and a sending base that releases people onto their frontlines – carrying the same anointing described in Isaiah 61: good news for the poor, freedom for the captives, healing for the broken-hearted. We’ll hear a remarkable story of whole-life discipleship – of a life transformed not just spiritually, but practically, financially, relationally – as we see what it looks like when someone healed, restored, and equipped is fully sent. Join us and Pastor Louis as we discover what it means to be an empowered – and empowering – Church. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
Frontline stories | Dr Rodwell Jacha
2026/08/24
Hatfield Elder, Dr Rodwell Jacha, shares what happened when his workplace stopped feeling separate from his calling. Drawing from Acts 1:8, Dr Jacha unpacks what it means to be a witness – not just in Jerusalem (the places we know best), but in Judea (our wider circles), Samaria (the uncomfortable, unfamiliar spaces), and to the ends of the earth. Through personal stories, he shares real moments of realisation, costly obedience, and the difference between a door that looks good and a door that carries God’s assignment. This is a message about the mission field hiding in plain sight – your workplace, your influence, your everyday relationships – and what it looks like to say, ‘Here am I. Send me.’ 🔔 Subscribe & Share
The gift of mission | Howard Williams
2026/08/17
We kick off our Faith Promise pledge season with guest speaker Howard Williams, joining us from Alive Lincoln in the UK, as we look at what it means to be sent. In Luke 10, Jesus sends out seventy-two ordinary people – not with resources, status, or a plan of their own, but with a simple mission: ‘Go, and carry My peace with you.’ ‘The harvest is plentiful,’ Jesus also tells them, ‘but the workers are few.’ It’s an invitation that still stands today as we go across the street, and across the globe. Mission is never just a project we fund from a distance. It’s a gift we’re invited into – an overflow of a life connected to the One who has already gone ahead of us. As we begin this year’s Faith Promise season, we ask: what does it look like for each of us to give ourselves to the harvest in front of us? Join us as we open our hearts to God’s mission near and far. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
Generosity, gratitude and me | Louis Kotzé
2026/08/09
Generosity, gratitude and me: what if being generous isn’t really about giving something away – but about making God known and becoming someone new? What actually happens to a person who lives generously, over time? Scripture suggests it’s not incidental – it’s what happens when we truly grasp who God is and respond to His incredible generosity toward us. Could worship and generosity be more closely connected than we realise? In this final message of our short series, Pastor Louis traces that process – and we discover a surprising truth: the person who changes most through generosity might not be the one receiving it. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
Generosity, gratitude and fear | Louis Kotzé
2026/08/03
Generosity, gratitude and fear: what if the thing standing between you and generosity isn’t a lack of resources, but a lack of trust? There’s an ancient story of a king so gripped by the fear of ‘not enough’ that it led him to enslave an entire nation. It’s an extreme example – but the same fear shows up in subtler ways in all of our lives. The feeling that there isn’t enough. That we need to hold on tighter. That generosity is a risk we can’t afford to take. We’re asking: what does fear do to us when it’s left unchecked? And what happens when we remember we’re living in a bigger story than the one fear is telling us? Join us and Pastor Louis as we explore what it looks like to live generously in a world where lack is real – but so is God’s abundance. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
Generosity, gratitude and overflow | Louis Kotzé
2026/07/27
Generosity and gratitude aren’t just personal virtues – they’re signs of the Kingdom of God at work. In this message, we explore how God’s abundant provision flows through us, produces generosity, and results in gratitude that overflows back to Him – the very rhythm by which His Kingdom advances. We look at 2 Corinthians 9 and the remarkable story of the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15, where the Early Church faced a defining Kingdom moment: would the Gospel remain bound to Jewish tradition, or would it be released to the nations? The leaders’ decision to embrace the Gentile believers – releasing their own position, control, and comfort – was an act of profound generosity that expanded God’s Kingdom beyond anything they could have imagined. That generosity of spirit is what stirred grateful, overflowing response in the Gentile churches, and it’s what continues to carry the Gospel forward today. This is the pattern of Kingdom generosity: it isn’t transactional, it isn’t measured by size, and it isn’t about what we get in return. It flows from grace already received, and its harvest is righteousness – the Kingdom taking root in more and more lives. Join us and Pastor Louis as we discover how God’s overflow in our lives can become Kingdom overflow through us. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
Living by the Spirit | Sihle Dlamini
2026/07/20
What does it really mean to live by the Spirit? Is it having our heads in the clouds, or can we practically point it out? This Sunday, Pastor Sihle unpacks how we can live by the Spirit in a way that’s fully backed up by scripture. We live in a time that calls us to be more discerning and more set apart. Are you striving to live a godly life by your own efforts, or are your eyes set on living by the Spirit? Are we able to forsake our own wisdom to carry out the wisdom of God? We’re, after all, spiritual beings created in the image of God and endowed with a spirit that connects us to Him. Here's an invitation addressed to all of us; will we submit to His Spirit? 🔔 Subscribe & Share
Free to ... Lessons from Paul and Peter | Neil Bester
2026/07/13
Christ sets us free — but what are we actually free for? Join us as Neil Bester looks at Paul and Peter’s teachings on true Christian freedom: not a licence to sin, but a call to stand firm in Christ, turn from destructive desires, grow in holiness and character, and serve others humbly in love. We’ll explore how being “free from” slavery to sin and legalism means being “free to” obey God as our true Master, love one another, and be “body builders” who strengthen the church family. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
Freedom from despair and hopelessness | Louis Kotzé
2026/06/29
We all know what it’s like to feel worn out and ready to give up after a long season of struggle. In this message, Pastor Louis looks at Elijah in 1 Kings 19: a man who hits despair right after epic victories and finds himself exhausted, afraid, and convinced he’s all alone. We’ll explore how despair distorts our reality – how it makes us imagine the worst, forget God’s past faithfulness, and feel more isolated than we truly are. Then we’ll see how God meets Elijah under the broom tree with tenderness, not rebuke: allowing him to grieve, giving him rest and food, and speaking in a still small voice that gently calls him forward. God does the same for us today, providing strength, community, and a future when we feel overwhelmed. Above all, we have hope – a steady anchor for every heart that feels close to giving up. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
Freedom from addiction | Louis Kotzé
2026/06/22
We all know what addiction looks like on the outside – but what’s happening underneath? In this message, Pastor Louis goes beyond the visible struggle to explore the inner journey of addiction: the anxiety, the broken belief systems, the hurt, and the avoidance that often drive it. We’ll unpack why addiction isn’t only about substances like drugs or alcohol – it can include food, screens, work, or anything we turn to in order to avoid pain. We’ll look at recovery as a whole-person journey: biological (including the truth that medication doesn’t necessarily equal a lack of faith), psychological, relational, and spiritual. Above all, we want to affirm one truth: God does not shun us in our addiction. He is with us, and for us, in the struggle and in the freedom that is possible as we undertake our faith journey with Him and in community. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
Freedom from rejection | Letichia Dlamini
2026/06/15
Rejection is one of the most painful human experiences – and none of us escapes it. It can leave us hiding in shame, burning with anger, weeping in sadness, or aching with loneliness. And if left unaddressed, it quietly shapes how we see ourselves and how we relate to God. But here’s what’s remarkable: even Jesus was rejected – by His family, by religious leaders, by crowds, and by His closest friends. Yet rejection did not define Him. And it doesn’t have to define you either. Join Letichia Dlamini as she explores what Scripture says about rejection, how it affects us emotionally and spiritually, and how God meets us in our deepest wounds with a different story entirely. Because the same God who sees the rejected, the overlooked, and the forgotten – looks at you and says: You are loved. You are seen. You matter. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
Freedom from idolatry | Natasja Kotzé
2026/06/08
We were made to reflect God’s image in the world – but something quietly shifts when we give our focus, trust, and devotion to the wrong things. Idolatry isn’t just an Old Testament problem. It’s a modern-day reality that shapes us in ways we often don’t recognise. Whatever fills our minds, captures our fear, holds our hope, and directs our lives – that is what we worship. And we become what we worship. Join us as Pastor Natasja explores the nature of idolatry – from the ancient warnings of Scripture to the subtle ways idols still ensnare us today. We look at how misplaced reliance, wrong thoughts, and drifting devotion can slowly draw us away from God, until we look but no longer see, and listen but no longer hear. Because freedom begins with recognising what – or who – truly holds our hearts. And the good news? We were made for more than the things we’ve been bowing to. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
Freedom from anger and bitterness | Louis Kotzé
2026/06/01
Anger is one of the most powerful emotions we experience. Sometimes it can move us toward justice, courage, and necessary action. But when left unchecked, anger can wound relationships, cause us to speak carelessly, harden our hearts, and slowly become something far more destructive: bitterness. Join Pastor Louis in exploring the difference between appropriate anger and harmful anger, and what Scripture teaches us about dealing with both anger and bitterness in a God-honouring way. Together, we’ll wrestle with the realities of offence, unforgiveness, woundedness, and the subtle ways bitterness can take root over time. Jesus calls us toward restoration, reconciliation, and freedom – not freedom from emotion, but freedom from being ruled by it. Because the things we refuse to release can quietly begin to shape us. But healing becomes possible when we bring even our deepest hurts to God. 🔔 Subscribe & Share
