A mom, wife, Gigi and Jesus follower. I have 6 kids and 7 grandkids and counting and have homeschooled and run a big household for years. My biggest win is that all of my kids love Jesus and most days still like me! I have loved being a mom and wouldn't trade it for anything, however, being a mom can be hard, and I found myself struggling over the years with stress, overwhelm, parenting challenges, relationship strain, fear and worry ALL while trying to keep my household running. I found that by asking for help and encouragement from older moms, praying fervently, and trying and failing A LOT, the Lord equipped me to have more confidence, effective routines and strategies that gave me better relationships and more peace in my home and heart. I am here to encourage you, to share things that worked for me, to lighten your days amidst all the hard, to keep you sane and from throwing in the towel, the good Lord knows we already have enough laundry. I'm here to help YOU manage your big family better! So if you are ready to be encouraged, say good-bye to overwhelm, get practical tips for running your big household, create solid connections with ALL your people, and, girl, we are going to laugh a little- this podcast is for you!! When was the last time you felt really embarrassed by your kids? Don't they often behave poorly when company comes over? How do you handle it? Does it ruin your day? Do you frantically search for the newest parenting book to find the magic formula to prevent this from ever happening again?
I have felt this way so many times! It used to rip at my core identity and make me feel like I might be disqualified as an effective parent! But the longer I parented, the better I became at realizing that kids just do the darndest things, and that their every bad choice was not an exact representation of my parenting ability. How we show up as mothers when our kids misbehave largely depends on our thoughts! Shocker, right? Let's talk about it. Have you noticed your kids do not come with built in manners?! Do you find them interrupting each other or you when talking to other adults? Of course, they aren't being disobedient if you have never taught them otherwise.
Today I'll be sharing with you a simple tool that I taught all of my children in our Big Family that allowed them to learn that other people are in the world and it's good to be aware of them and to be kind. Sometimes kindness looks like waiting. This tool will teach your children the beautiful gift of waiting.

I have felt all these things too over the years of homemaking and homeschooling. Household Management is not easy especially with a Large Household! I so wanted to have friends and family over but often struggled to have the energy to make my house company ready. I also felt more stressed when the house was a mess!
Over the years, i figured a few things out that really helped me to stay on top of my home, be company ready in less time and enjoy a well-kept, peaceful home. I look forward to sharing them with you today. Don't worry, it's not a new bin organization system with color coding!
