Can Archaeology Confirm Christianity? Dead Sea Scrolls & the Divinity of Christ
2026/09/24
Has the Bible changed over the centuries? Did Constantine and the Council of Nicaea invent the idea that Jesus is God? Two discoveries give Christians something concrete to examine: scrolls from the caves near the Dead Sea, and a church floor from around 230 A.D. that honors "the God Jesus Christ." Host Brittney Brown sits down with Dr. Bobby Duke, Chief Curatorial Officer and Director of the Scholars Initiative at Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, and former dean of the School of Theology at Azusa Pacific University. Together they ask what archaeology can confirm about Christianity, and what it can't. They also discuss: What can archaeology actually tell us about the Bible, and where are its limits? How were the Dead Sea Scrolls found, and why do they matter for the Old Testament you read? Do manuscript variants undermine the Bible's reliability? Did the early church invent Jesus' divinity, or did Nicaea inherit it? What does a 1,800-year-old church floor tell us about ordinary early Christians? How does a 2,700-year-old command in Isaiah still shape how Christians live today? ___________________________________________  LEARN MORE ABOUT DR. Why a Biochemist Left Atheism for Christianity
2026/09/11
What happens when an atheist scientist starts asking questions that science can't answer? Dr. Sy Garte spent decades as an atheist and professional biochemist before becoming a Christian. In this episode of The Shift, he shares the scientific questions, personal experiences, and search for truth that changed the way he understood God, science, and reality. From quantum mechanics and the genetic code to the origin of life, consciousness, fine-tuning, and the relationship between science and faith, Sy and Britney Brown explore whether science is enough to explain the world we live in. ___________________________________________  LEARN MORE ABOUT DR. You Have to Reject All of Ancient History If You Reject the Bible
2026/08/27
Did the Council of Nicaea really decide what went into the Bible? Was the New Testament "changed" over time? And how does the Bible compare to other ancient texts like Homer, Plato, or the Quran?   In this episode of The Shift, host Brittney Brown sits down with Dr. Clark Bates, New Testament professor, textual criticism expert, and missionary trainer based in Italy, to tackle the most common objections to the Bible's reliability, one by one. ___________________________________________ Get "Faith Examined" on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Faith-Examined-Clark-R-Bates/dp/1666749303   Questions for Dr. Bates? ✉️ [email protected] or find him on Facebook.
Faith, Doubt & the Search for Truth: Brandon McGuire on Following the Evidence
2026/08/13
What do you do when you believe in God, but you're no longer sure He's good? What happens when suffering, doubt, and unanswered questions make it difficult to reconcile the God you believe in with the reality you're experiencing? In Episode 3 of The Shift, Brittney Brown sits down with Brandon McGuire, founder and host of Daily Dose of Wisdom, for an honest conversation about doubt, suffering, spiritual warfare, apologetics, and what it means to pursue truth when faith gets complicated. They also talk about: Why people deconstruct their faith Is God really good when we suffer? How should Christians respond to doubt? Can Christianity withstand difficult questions? The reality of spiritual warfare Angels, demons, and the unseen spiritual realm Why Christians shouldn't be afraid of skepticism or other worldviews How apologetics can help us pursue truth Why faith isn't supposed to be about comfort and ease What it means to live in light of eternity How God can meet us in the middle of suffering and doubt At the heart of this conversation is a simple invitation: don't be afraid of the questions. Pursue truth. ___________________________________________ 🎥 Watch Brandon's YouTube channel: @Daily_Dose_Of_Wisdom  🌐 Daily Dose of Wisdom: dailydoseofwisdom.com

NASA Scientist Explains Why Science Keeps Pointing Her to God
2026/07/16
Something shifts when the person answering your questions has spent a career exploring the universe. Dr. Leslie Wickman has worked with NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, the International Space Station, and trained astronauts for human spaceflight. But the biggest shift in her life wasn't scientific, it was discovering that the deeper she studied creation, the more compelling the Creator became. In this first episode of The Shift, Brittney Brown sits down with Dr. Wickman to explore one of the biggest misconceptions Christians face today: Do you really have to choose between science and faith?
