- An arbitrator has ordered Uber and one of its drivers to pay $40 million to the parents of 23-year-old Emily Normandin-Parker. She was left along a Southern California freeway after the driver kicked her and a friend out of the vehicle; she later entered the freeway and was struck and killed by another vehicle. The parents were awarded $20 million each.
- A 20-year-old Houston-area man paid $25,000 for a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS, but about four months later, when he attempted to trade it in, a dealership discovered that the vehicle's VIN had been swapped and that the Camaro had been reported stolen. The car was subsequently towed by police.
- Democrat Abdul El-Sayed is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan. He has campaigned on Medicare for All, rather than “Medicaid for All.”
- Patrick Clancy, Lindsay Clancy's former husband, is giving his first television interview since her trial ended in a mistrial. He will appear with his new wife, Rachel Danis, on 60 Minutes. The interview is scheduled to air Sunday.
- Texas executed LeJames Norman, 40, on September 16, 2026. He was put to death for the 2005 fatal shootings of three people during an attempted robbery at a home in Edna, Texas. It was Texas' fifth execution of 2026.
