10. Cut the Cortisol: Easy Self Care Triage for Your Body
2026/10/28
Ever have those self-care slumps that make you worry about yourself? The kind that seem deeper than just being tired or feeling lazy? Yeah, me too; today I'm going to talk about how I made it through a pretty recent dark tunnel into glimpses of the old me again. It happens to all of us whether it be life circumstances or hormones; and sometimes your old tricks stop working.  Today I have a couple of my most reliable self-care habits to share along with something ancient and brilliant that I can't take credit for, but can't resist touting. Hope this is helpful, my friend!  Many blessings to you! Melody
09. Minimize the Mom Guilt! High Impact Habits for Working Moms
2026/10/21
Mom guilt is THE WORST and work/life balance is super tricky.  Many of us have a hard time breaking away from the job, and are emotionally drained imagining a life where time wasn't passing so fast.  This week I'm sharing three habits I've adopted into my life that cut down on that mom-guilt immensely! They do not take a lot of time or thought, but help me feel like I'm keeping precious moments precious and definitely crying about wasted time less! Leave me a comment if these resonate with you! Also, come join my Facebook community- Self Care for Busy Mamas! We need each other, this stuff is hard! Wishing you joy and peace with your loved ones! Much Love, Melody
08. Low Key, Therapeutic Art Activities- Minimal Effort and Just For You
2026/10/14
I don't know about you, but for me it seems like a lot of converging forces have been dancing around as of late. I have felt squeezed by responsibilities, random issues that need immediate attention and the smell of pumpkin everything wafting through the air. Nature wants to slow down, but culturally, things are ramping up!  This week I'm sharing a few creative solutions to diffuse that stress. I will take you through the process for a couple quick, minimalistic art activities and bring your attention back to simple solutions to boost your mood. These are some things I came across this week that helped me reframe my day and relax my nervous system in a major way. I hope you enjoy as much as I did. Remember, be kind to yourself! You deserve it. Lots of love, Melody
07. ADHD kid, ADHD spouse and ADHD you? Best Tips for Survival in an ADHD Home
2026/10/07
Have you ever felt like things were out of your control in your own home? I don’t think that is just me! My son, my spouse and I all have ADHD.  It used to make me feel disempowered or crazy; now that I understand things better, and have grown in self-awareness, self-compassion, and personal agency I don’t feel that way anymore. This week I'm going to share with you three things that got me through my most challenging years to date. Now I have these tools, I feel like I can deal with whatever is coming our way and I'm truly excited for our life ahead. Dishing up some real talk for you this week and wishing you blessings and peace in your life today! Much love, Melody
06. Simple Nervous System Relief for the Anxious Morning Grind
2026/09/30
It's that time again in the school year when we are finding our weekday rhythm and we may be also finding it doesn't work so well for us! This week I am going to share with you the simple morning hacks I use everyday to soothe my anxious nervous system so getting ready for school doesn't seem like such a chore; these are three easy ways to care for myself, set a healthy tone for the day and model good self care for my kiddo so he starts his day right too. It's not magic, nor is it rocket science, just being mindful in the micro-moments. I hope this helps you as much as it helps me! Many blessings to you, Melody
05. Life Got You Squeezed? Try Silly, Spontaneous Humor for Self Care
2026/09/23
This week I'm going to take you through some strategies I actually used in the moment when my anger volcano was throwing off steam and I was feeling crispy with lack of me-time the way I wanted it to look.  These are safe, easy to follow suggestions that can help you transform a salty day into a stupendous one. The ability to laugh at ourselves, and life, is a gift- I haven't always had it when I needed it most, so now I try to stay soft so I can bend rather than break when life gets hard. I hope you enjoy the little ditty I perform about the lady who scheduled my Dr's appointment and the resources for face yoga you can find on YouTube! There is much to explore in life... remember to have some fun and wear your stretchy pants.  Many blessings to you, sisters!   YouTube references:   @facefitcanada,  @sagefacialtensionrelease *There is no affiliation between Self Care for Busy Mamas and the YouTube channels above, just referencing what I have enjoyed and mentioned in the podcast.
04. Stuck in Comparison? Why Affirmations are Not the Key to Self Acceptance
2026/09/16
Are you tired of not feeling good enough?  Do you find yourself in constant comparison and self judgement? I get it! It happens before we even know we're doing it. In today's episode I am going to discuss the real reason why affirmations feel like a farse- because self-talk needs to be healed before you can reprogram your mind! I will be sharing some of my own painful blunders along with a three step process I teach involving somatic signals, identifying the root need and then rewiring with self compassion. I hope this is helpful to you! Shifting our negative self talk to self compassion is the best self care we could aspire to give ourselves. You deserve to feel happy, Mama! Much Love and Many Blessings to you, Melody
03. Feeling Overwhelmed? Try Doodles and a Brain Dump
2026/09/09
Are you walking around with a fuzzy brain and an anxious heart? Do you wish there could be some way to pacify your racing mind and bring back some balance in your routine? In this episode I share my favorite method for getting it all out; a way to stimulate your body, mind and heart in one beautifully creative session of habit-stacking. This will soothe your busy mind, leave you more focused, more calm and more light-hearted! Give it a shot! You've got nothing to lose!
02. No Time for Self Care? Simple Systems for Busy Mamas
2026/08/31
Funny how our distinctly uncomfortable backgrounds, when confronted, can lead to our best discoveries! In this episode I discuss part of mine and share some of the lemonade I've made from those lemons... I will share my top 3 life-hacks for self preservation gleaned in the throes of the classroom and motherhood- breathing like a Navy Seal, using the "self-care triangle" and a simple mirroring technique. Once novel, now I rely on them daily as my go-to system of self-care.  Come join my facebook group- SELF CARE FOR BUSY MAMAS, and when you sign up you'll gain instant access to some cool freebies plus learn about my online workshops, classes and community events as they roll out! Wishing you all the best, Melody
01. A Bit of My Story: Why Self-Care?
2026/08/31
In this episode, I will share with you three pivotal times I have hit different types of rock bottom!  These may be relatable, or maybe not- but I learned universal lessons while I withstood the wrath of freshmen boys, survived post partum depression and relied on my inner strength more than outer resources. Come with me as I reminisce on my growth over the years! * Labeled Explicit: Some discussion may not be appropriate for little ears
