Description

Have you ever flipped open your Bible to a "new" verse only to realize you've actually highlighted that exact passage and made notes on it already? Or you just know that you read something the other day that would be so encouraging for your current anxiety or fear, but you just can't seem to find that specific verse again? GUUUURL same! I'm so grateful you're here! This podcast is all about practically writing the Living Word on our hearts; so it's there when you need it, not just somewhere in a notebook you can't find. And no, it's not just saying a verse 100 times. It's quick, it's simple, and honestly? It's kind of fun. Stick with me! Hey, I'm Keaghan. A Jesus-loving wife and mama who still struggles with fear, anxiety, and the constant "am I doing enough" … all while racing a ticking clock and a never-ending to-do list. I tried living life the world's way, and honestly, unsubscribe! I hustled, tried harder, and did more. I got the management job and the degree like they said. It almost ruined me. In my first year of varsity, studying a BSc, the panic attacks led to a family intervention.  That's when I started learning HOW to actually learn. Life shifted dramatically,  I spent nearly as much time studying my own brain as I did studying for my degree. I got that degree with a distinction, had a baby in my final year, and worked full time through it. It took years after that to connect those study methods to how I read and learn my Bible. But I got there! Praising Jesus for His goodness and patience with me along the way! Now I'm still on this journey, just like you. As I keep walking imperfectly with the Lord, He keeps showing me how wonderful our brains actually are and my joy keeps increasing. Learning is so much more possible than we often think.  If you're ready to read and memorize your Bible so you have an arsenal at your disposal for when life be "life'ing" with quick, easy, simple methods that actually stick, this podcast is for you. So prepare your heart.

09: Does Writing Out Scripture Actually Help You Memorize It? It Does When Heaven Meets Earth on Your Page (Isaiah 55:8 to 11)
2026/10/27
Ever read a verse beautifully and forgotten it by lunch? This week we are in Isaiah 55: 8 to 11 from my beloved King James Version, and instead of a hook with letters or numbers, the memory technique is all about how you write it out. It is so simple you might take it to your next small group. I walk you through the Big Capital I: an A4 portrait page with three rectangles, one across the top for heaven (verses 8 and 9), one vertical rectangle for the rain coming down (verse 10), and one across the bottom for earth (the seed, the bread, and verse 11). Plus the little treasure in verse 8, a mirror of “my, your, your, my” that makes it easier to hold onto. Why I care: I sat with this passage on a tired, frustrated, mama’s not cooking kind of night, and it gave me peace. The heavens will always be higher, and I do not need to understand Heaven to trust the Father with my life. If you’ve ever felt like you have to figure out the big decisions alone, this one is for you. God has thoughts about you, and His Word never returns void. By the second or third time you write it out you will have most of it down. Read it, write what you remember, notice where you get stuck, and go again. Verses mentioned: Isaiah 55:8 to 11 (KJV), Psalm 139:17, Jeremiah 29:11, John 1:1 to 3, Genesis 2:7, Psalm 1 Next week: the most redundant verse in the Bible (Am I even allowed to say that?) 08: Do you REALLY Know Psalm 23? Could You Recite It Word for Word? You can With This Storytelling Mnemonic!
2026/10/20
Do you REALLY know Psalm 23, or just the first few lines? Could you recite it word for word, right now, without peeking? Friend, this week we are tackling Psalm 23 from my beloved King James Version, and instead of a letter technique I am using a storytelling method. Six verses become six vivid pictures: you standing with the Shepherd, lying down in green pastures, being led beside the still waters, walking through the valley, sitting at a table God has prepared, and goodness and mercy following you all the days of your life. Each picture comes with a little memory hook, like the two he's in verse 2, the four pieces of verse 4 and the six letters in the word surely, and the pictures link together so the story carries you from one verse to the next. Plus, why I am not saying God hid a secret code in the number six (it is a delight and a handle for your memory!), and why we do not get stuck in the valley, we walk through it. This one is for Norman! Got a verse or passage you would love to memorize? Sign up for my emails, hit reply, and your favorite verse could be next! Verses mentioned: Psalm 23 (KJV), Proverbs 25:2, Psalm 139, Psalm 1 Next week: We are back with a major prophet, and we are talking about rain! 07: Overwhelmed by a Whole Chapter? Build a Memory Technique of Your Own Using the Protection Psalm 91
2026/10/13
Ever feel like a whole chapter of Scripture is just too much to memorize? What if you could stop reading it over and over and over, and build a memory technique of your own instead? Friend, this week a listener asked for Psalm 91, the whole chapter, and I'm not just handing you a technique, I'm pulling back the curtain on how I come up with one. Sixteen verses looks overwhelming until you spot the shape: sixteen is a square, which means four sets of four. From there I show you two paths. The first gives each set of four verses a four letter word (WRAP, FATE, HEAL and ABBA), with a letter anchoring you to one key word in each verse. The second is the one I chose, DWELL IN THE SHADOW, where each of the sixteen letters points to a word hiding in its verse. And yes, I'm honest about the one verse where my technique gets a little wobbly. Plus a fun fact: Psalm 91 has no heading, so no author is named. Then we sit with the picture in verse 1, what it means to dwell in the shelter of the Most High and abide in the shadow of the Almighty, so close that His shadow completely hugs you. We close with why I want this Psalm written on my heart, so I can pray it over my husband, my daughter and my parents without pulling it up on my phone, and why we need the Word as our sword. If you've ever stared at a long chapter and thought you'll never get it into your head, this one is for you. The rest of the map is your homework! Verses mentioned: Psalm 91 (the full chapter, ESV), Psalm 139, Ephesians 6 Next week: Psalm 23, like you have never heard it before! 06: Exhausted in a Heavy Season? What "Endured" Really Means in Hebrews 12:2 + Getting Scripture Memorized With Mnemonics
2026/10/06
Ever feel like you're barely holding it together under the weight of this season? What if "endured" doesn't mean gritting your teeth, but something far more beautiful? Friend, this week I tried verse mapping for the first time, and one little word in Hebrews 12:2 stopped me in my tracks. Endured. In the Greek it means to remain under, to stay under the weight and not walk away. Jesus did exactly that on the cross, "for the joy that was set before him." He had a clear and divine why. In this episode I walk you through the five words from my verse map (looking, author, finisher, joy and endured), add just a pinch of neuroscience on why a clear purpose helps us push through stress, and rapid fire through what the Bible says about joy, from Philippians 4 to Psalm 30 to James 1. Joy and weeping can coexist, and the night never gets the final word. Then we get Hebrews 12:2 memorized with a word picture you won't forget: a cozy cottage porch, a steaming cup of coffee (because HE BREWS), three crosses on a hill, and a hand stretched over a mansion that holds a goosebump surprise. If you're exhausted, walking through a heavy season, or convinced you just can't memorize Scripture, this one is for you. Verses mentioned: Hebrews 12:2, Hebrews 2:10, James 1:22, Philippians 4:4 to 5, Psalm 16:11, Psalm 30:5, Psalm 139:7 to 8, Nehemiah 8:10, Proverbs 17:22, James 1:2, Colossians 3:2, John 14:2 Next week: ALL of Psalm 91, a special listener request, plus how to build a memory technique of your own! 05: Affirmations vs Scripture: Actually Renewing Your Mind? + Getting Rom 12v2 Memorized!
2026/09/29
Ever written out five affirmations, felt amazing for a day, only to realize it didn't stick? What if renewing your mind was never meant to rest on your shoulders? Friend, "renew your mind" has become such a trendy phrase. It's all mindset, manifesting, positivity journaling and future self visualizing, and I lived there for a long time without realizing how lukewarm I'd become. In this episode I share why my affirmations never really worked, and the huge relief I found when I stopped reading Romans 12:2 as one more thing on my to do list. Transformation isn't me trying to change me. The Holy Spirit renews my mind through Scripture, with the same power that raised King Jesus from the dead. My part? Read the Word, do what it says! Then we get Romans 12:2 memorized with a word picture mnemonic you won't forget. Its just a quick walk with two Hebrew letters, a hand house, helmet, gingerbread cookie and more. If you're exhausted, if Bible study feels like one more thing, or if you're convinced you just have a bad memory, this one is for you. It's simple, full of faith, and has a little neuroscience sprinkled in, whatever your learning style. (REMEMBER your extra credit homework is reading 2 Corinthians 12:9) Want simple, weekly tips to help you memorize Scripture without the overwhelm? Head to keaghanotto.com. 04: ABC as Mnemonics? Would Your Life Be Comfortable or Would God Be Glorified? What Scripture Reveals + Getting Eph 3v20 Memorized!
2026/09/22
Ever pray a verse like it's a blank check from God, only to find out later it was asking for something else entirely? What if the real ask in Ephesians 3:20 isn't about a vacation, but a transformation? Friend, I used to read Ephesians 3:20 as my permission slip to ask God for anything, a promotion, a holiday, whatever my heart desired. But when I actually walked through the verse in context, I realized Paul wasn't handing me a blank check, he was praying for something much bigger, inner strength, roots grown down into God's love, and the power to understand a love that's honestly too great to fully understand. I also share a question from Bible teacher Megan Fate Erickson that wrecked me, if God said yes to every prayer you prayed this week, would your life be comfortable, or would His name be glorified? Once we've sat with that, I walk you through how to actually memorize this verse using a simple ABC anchor, skip the D, E is for Ephesians, the same rhythm and rhyme trick I used to memorize architecture dates back in my degree. 03: You Know This Verse, So Why Can't You Find It? A Mnemonic For Isaiah 40v31
2026/09/14
Ever wish there was a way to lock in a verse's chapter and verse number as easily as the words themselves? What if a slightly ridiculous hand motion could be the thing that finally makes a reference stick? Friends, if you thought Isaiah 40:31 was a verse you already knew by heart, stick with me, because knowing the words was never actually my struggle. It's the address, the chapter and verse, that used to slip right through my fingers. In this episode I'm teaching you a full body anchor for Isaiah 40:31 (NLT): “Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength, they will soar high on wings like eagles.” We build it one gesture at a time: a T for trust, a flex with a popped pinky for Isaiah, and a wing swish for soar. Then I show you how that same hand shape locks in the actual chapter and verse, forty, thirty one, so the reference sticks right alongside the words. Yes, you will look a little ridiculous doing this in your kitchen or your car. Let's be crazy for the Lord together. Psalm 1 Verse Art freebie? 02: You Have Never Seen This Mnemonic for Scripture + Neuroscience Art! (Probably)
2026/09/14
Ever catch yourself reading God's law hoping it earns you a blessing, instead of delighting in Him simply because He is God? Been there… Wonder what a technique that looks like a game of Scrabble could actually do for your Scripture memory? Friends, it started as a blessing that I was praying over my daughter and then it turned into art! In this episode I'm walking you through exactly how I memorize scripture as an adult, using a technique that looks a little bit like a game of Scrabble and a whole lot like meditating on the word. We dig into Psalm 1:1 to 3 (KJV), why I built my own crossword style word map out of thirteen keywords, and how walking, standing, and sitting became a lens for examining my own heart posture. I also get honest about something the Holy Spirit only recently handed me: I don't delight in God's law to get a blessing. I delight because He is God, full stop. Psalm 1 Verse Art freebie? 01. What to Expect on Bible Memory + 3 Biblical Reasons to Start Memorizing Scripture
2026/09/10
Do you wish you had the kind of courage David had when he ran toward Goliath, courage that came from actually knowing Scripture? Ever wonder how Daniel walked in favor with a king who didn't even worship his God? He knew the law, and he kept it. Welcome to the very first episode of Bible Memory with me, Keaghan! In this short trailer I pull back the curtain on my own story, from panic attacks as a first time university student in my late twenties to graduating with distinctions once I learned how to actually learn, and how those same skills now fuel my approach to memorizing Scripture. I share three biblical reasons to start hiding God's Word in your heart: David knew Scripture and ran toward giants because of it, Daniel knew the law and walked in favor because he kept it, and Jesus met temptation itself with "It is written." Knowing Scripture gives you courage, shapes how you walk, and equips you to flee temptation when it comes knocking. Want simple, weekly tips to help you memorize Scripture without the overwhelm?
