Description

You've tried everything. The supplements that promised calm and gave you nothing. The prescription that numbed you instead of fixing you. The advice to "just breathe," as if you hadn't already tried that a hundred times at 2am. Project UNWD is real conversations with real people... not actors, not scripted testimonials. The anxiety that never actually goes away on its own. The withdrawal that scared them more than the thing they were quitting. The one ordinary day everything shifted, and the years before it that didn't. James, the founder, has been there. That's the only reason these conversations go anywhere honest... he's not interviewing customers, he's talking to people he understands. Some of these stories are messy. Some are still unfinished. If you want a polished wellness brand with all the answers already figured out, UNWD probably isn't for you. If you've quietly wondered whether anyone else feels what you feel, this is for you. See the product these stories keep coming back to: https://unwd.com/shop/mindhack/ *These are personal stories from real customers. Everyone's journey is different. Results may vary. Panic attacks every other day. Couldn’t leave the house. - Project UNWD Ep 68
2026/10/29
Abbye is a wife and a stay-at-home mom of three. This fall, she's going back to school to teach. But her story didn't start where you'd expect. It started five years ago, when her newborn son got RSV. He spent a month in the hospital. After he came home, she got more and more anxious. She started drinking to quiet her head. By March 2025, she couldn't walk. She couldn't pick up her kids. Ninety days later, she came home sober. But the anxiety didn't go away. Panic attacks came every other day, for months. She was scared to drive after dark. She hid panic attacks from her kids. She kept asking her husband to check her heart rate. She tried Lexapro, BuSpar, trazodone, therapy and cold plunges. Nothing could quiet her mind. Now her mind feels lighter and clearer. Over fall break, she took all three kids to an art museum. By herself. She feels present. She feels like herself again. "I'm back in control." In this episode, Abbye explains what nobody tells you about life after getting sober, and what finally brought her back. 00:00 Meet Abbye: a mom of three 00:52 Going back to school to teach 01:19 A newborn with RSV and a month in the hospital 01:56 Anxious, sad, and drinking to cope 02:30 March 2025: "I lost the ability to walk" 03:04 Sober, but the anxiety came back 03:38 A panic attack every other day 04:19 "I can't keep living like this" 04:47 "I don't say that lightly" 05:21 Scared to drive after dark 05:53 Every day depended on her morning 06:44 When even small things are exhausting 07:09 "I felt very insecure" 07:49 Waking up in the middle of a battle 08:26 Ice baths and hands in the freezer 08:52 "Your world just kind of gets smaller" 09:32 Hiding panic attacks from her kids 10:15 What it did to her husband and kids 10:59 "Can you check my heart rate?" 11:23 "Am I being a burden?" 12:21 Sober, then a whole different battle 13:05 What the drinking was covering up 13:29 Finding healthier ways to cope 14:38 Lexapro, BuSpar, and everything else she tried 16:17 Why nothing quieted her mind 16:51 Anxiety has two battles 17:27 When showers and dishes feel impossible 17:56 Motivation, mornings, and therapy twice a week 18:45 First impression: "That can't be true" 19:43 Getting that text message 19:59 What she noticed on day two 20:43 Her day-to-day now 21:15 An art museum and the park every day 21:55 "Surviving rather than actually living" 22:17 Advice for anyone about to start 22:44 Admitting you need help 23:23 Doing your own research 23:55 Closing Recorded live over video call. Addicted since college. No sleep in years. Then this happened. - Project UNWD Ep 67
2026/10/27
Eric is a new husband, a son mending things with his dad, and a school teacher who tries to reach the kids no one else does. But his story didn't start where you'd expect. It started in Florida, with braces and a pulled tooth. One tooth meant 30 pills. They gave them out like Skittles. In college it got worse. Then came heroin and fentanyl. Quitting meant lying in bed and suffering. By day three or four, he'd end up at the hospital for an IV. He hadn't really slept in years. Two hours max, then wide awake at the witching hour. He'd pass out 15 minutes before his alarm and wake up a zombie. He went to rehab twice. He spent five or six years on Suboxone, sick on it and sick without it. He finally got clean. Then kratom tea led him to 7-OH. The first time he took it, he cried. He knew it was going to drown him. Now he's sleeping again. He can function. He's present with his wife. "I'm able to be alive and to be in the moment." In this episode, Eric explains why he refuses to be another statistic, and how he keeps finding a door every time life hits a dead end. 00:00 Introduction 00:48 Meet Eric: a newlywed with a house to unpack 02:35 A schoolteacher and a former addict 03:09 Braces, a pulled tooth, and pills "like Skittles" 04:09 Getting off heroin and fentanyl 04:54 The first 90 minutes of your day 05:18 36 sessions of TMS and sleeping again 06:04 "When you get sober, you're like a child" 06:22 Down the kratom rabbit hole 07:03 A revolving door of doctors and pills 08:27 "I want to be level and clear-headed" 08:40 His year of healing 09:02 Addiction doesn't care who you are 09:33 Why rehab never worked for him 09:55 "This is my 15th time" 10:26 Armenian roots and a family that survived 10:55 "But I have a purpose" 11:22 "Worse than prison or jail" 12:15 Mechanic, salesman, teacher 12:30 A prison bed by third grade 13:25 Metal detectors in an elementary school 14:38 Sometimes kids just need a hug 14:55 What if an addict chased something better? 15:29 Never friends with other addicts 15:56 Not too proud to ask for help 16:26 Raised not to show pain 17:56 Everything in moderation 18:43 "I have an addictive personality" 19:22 "All things work together for good" 19:56 His day before: "Get up. 3 anxiety attacks a day. Couldn’t leave home. Then this happened. - Project UNWD Ep 66
2026/10/23
Kait is a wife, a music lover, and a creative who once backpacked Scotland alone at 19. But her story didn't start where you'd expect. She had anxiety and depression for most of her life. A few years ago, she was diagnosed with POTS. Its symptoms feel just like anxiety. Soon she was having three anxiety attacks a day. Shortness of breath. Dizziness. Lying in bed shaking, with a mask over her eyes. Some days she couldn't make it from her bed to her computer. She carried a bag of crisis supplies everywhere. Then she stopped wanting to leave the house. Doctors told her it was just anxiety. Zoloft and Wellbutrin helped a little, but they left her feeling flat. Talk therapy gave her tools. She still needed room in her head to use them. Now she goes out to see live music again. At her last two shows, she danced for three hours straight. "I thought I was never going to be able to go and see live music again." How They Trap You With a ”Free Sample” - Project UNWD Ep 65
2026/10/19
Glenn is a dog dad to a rescue, a film producer, and a hiker who logs over 1,000 miles a year. But his story didn't start where you'd expect. In 1999, he was worth about $30 million. Two years later, after the dot-com crash, he was worth about $20,000. His mind would get stuck on one problem and loop through it all night. He'd tell himself to stop thinking about it. About 20 seconds later, he was right back in it. Herbal pills, valerian root and melatonin didn't really help. Then came Xanax, kratom, and 7-OH, up to 10 doses a day. A prescription to get off it left him numb, like a robot. But the loop is different now. When his thoughts start racing, he can turn them off. On his morning hikes, he feels joy and happiness again. He's smiling again. "There's silence. There's quiet. The voice isn't attacking me." In this episode, Glenn explains why his mind got stuck on repeat for so long, and how he finally found some quiet. 00:00 Introduction 00:53 Meet Glenn: radio host and filmmaker 02:07 1999: throw a dart, pick a tech stock 03:37 "I can't handle that kind of stress" 04:12 Becoming a movie extra in Hollywood 05:21 "Life is like a river" 06:04 A board chasing the stock price 08:34 "Over and over and over again" 08:58 Something to quiet the little voice in his head 10:30 Valerian root, melatonin, and groggy mornings 12:35 2010: his California costs tripled 14:57 "You just got an overactive brain" 16:32 Years on Xanax, then kratom on a friend's tip 17:37 When 7-OH came along 19:26 How the sellers push bigger doses 21:27 What 7-OH really is 22:30 Eight to 10 doses, $500 to $1,000 a month 24:56 Hiking 1,000 miles a year with his dog 27:06 "I made a horrible decision" 28:06 How Suboxone works 29:16 "Like a robot waiting to be activated" 30:55 Quitting Suboxone cold turkey 32:28 "Suddenly I was smiling again" 33:02 James sets the record straight 34:38 Cravings vs. depression: his honest answer 35:54 "Fake the smile until you're actually feeling the smile" 37:37 "Just an unstoppable loop" 38:59 A hard week, and "I can't say 100%" 39:45 Why some minds stay stuck in the loop 40:53 "There's silence. There's quiet." 41:31 An RV and more time in the mountains 44:39 Deadlines, payments, and the view from Mount Charleston 46:28 Closing *These are personal stories from real customers. Meds since 20. He wanted something natural. - Project UWND Ep 64
2026/10/16
Eric is a husband of 30 years, a dad of two grown daughters, and the guy everyone calls outgoing. But his story didn't start where you'd expect. In his early 20s, the fear got so real he didn't want to leave the house. He's been on anxiety and depression meds for longer than he can remember. He calls himself an outgoing introvert. Even family gatherings make him anxious. Then his job changed, and his mother passed away in March. Every day felt like waiting for the next shoe to drop. He'd just shut down. One night he broke down with his wife and didn't even know why. He wanted something natural. He'd tried all kinds of herbs that promised to calm him down. He was very skeptical. Now things don't get to him as quickly. His energy stays up, but he feels calmer. Situations he used to dread feel more tolerable. "This is garbage. Ain't going to work," he thought at first. In this episode, Eric explains the night he broke down, and why he calls himself one of the lucky ones. 00:00 Introduction 00:48 Meet Eric: laid-back, but type A at work 02:23 A weekend in New York 03:52 On meds for "God, I don't even know how long" 04:32 "I'm an outgoing introvert" 05:09 The silent battle nobody else can see 05:45 When he couldn't leave the house 06:37 Looking for something natural 07:07 The first scoop, and the smell 08:25 A new job and a loss in March 08:45 "I broke down with my wife" 10:10 "When the next shoe is going to drop" 11:12 Shutting down at home and at work 12:27 "This is garbage. Ain't going to work." 13:15 "This couldn't be farther from the truth" 14:21 James on chasing that first Xanax feeling 15:46 A skeptic reads the reviews 17:09 A no-show at work, and he just sat back 18:32 His goal for the next year 19:24 Closing *These are personal stories from real customers. 2026/10/14
Jenna is a mom of two, a wife, and the super social friend everyone knows. But her story didn't start where you'd expect. Her first panic attacks hit at 9 years old. By 17, doctors had her on Prozac. She'd wake up a million times a night, checking the clock. She'd open her eyes to a weight on her chest. Once she went to urgent care, sure there was a lump in her throat. There was no lump. Then two kids took her anxiety to a whole new level. Her husband told her, "I haven't genuinely heard you laugh in the longest time." She tried Xanax, Prozac, Lexapro, and Klonopin. Then ashwagandha, magnesium, even saffron. Nothing stuck. Now the little things don't worry her every single second. She has the energy for pumpkin farms and birthday parties. Her patience is back, and other moms notice. "You're so patient with your children and calm," a friend's mom told her. 2,000mg of 7-OH a day. $25,000 gone. Then this happened. - Project UNWD Ep 62
2026/10/11
Dennis is an Army veteran and a dog dad. He walks 20,000 steps a day, even on Christmas. But his story didn't start where you'd expect. In 1999, a car hit him on his motorcycle in Georgia. Doctors handed him full bottles of pain meds. Years later, a rare nerve disease paralyzed both his calves. He didn’t want to go down the meds route again so he looked for something natural. That’s how he found kratom. That led to 7-OH. His dose climbed fast, up to 2,000 mg a day. It cost him $70 to $100 every day. One night he ran out at 3 a.m. Nothing opened until 9. He spent six hours sick, asking himself if he was a junkie. Now his mornings look different. He says he's so much happier now. The money he used to spend goes into savings. "What is in this?" he texted James. In this episode, Dennis explains the night he knew he had to quit, and what finally changed. 00:00 "You can do a lot more than you think you can" 02:29 A shattered foot, a motorcycle crash, and full bottles of Percocet 03:47 "I didn't know about withdrawals" 04:31 A rare nerve disease and two paralyzed calves 05:26 "You got me twice. His panic attacks felt like a stroke. Then everything changed. - Project UNWD Ep 61
2026/09/26
Isaac is a dad to four daughters, a husband, and an automotive service manager in Vancouver, Washington. But his anxiety had nothing to do with his job. It started in his early twenties, when he was first diagnosed and put on medication. By his forties it turned into panic attacks and tension headaches so bad they felt like a stroke. He stopped going to the grocery store. Some days he couldn't even leave the house. He tried benzodiazepines, supplement after supplement, vitamin after vitamin, anything he could get his hands on. Nothing broke the cycle. Then, a few weeks into something completely different, he started noticing things weren't the same. "I think this stuff might be really doing something," he remembers thinking. In this episode, Isaac explains what changed, and why he says he'd have found it 30 years sooner if he could. ”I got sober. My anxiety came back worse.” - Project UNWD Ep 60
2026/09/21
Sherry is a mom of four, a grandmother, and a wife who mentors other moms fighting to get their kids back from foster care. But her own path to feeling calm started somewhere you wouldn't guess. At eleven, she found her grandparents' liquor cabinet and poured herself a cup. That was the start of decades lost to addiction. She got sober eight years ago, but her mind never slowed down. It felt like pressing the gas and the brake at the same time, exhausting from the moment she woke up. Every trip left her bracing for a panic attack, and she was drinking shots of espresso with Benadryl just to quiet her own head. She white knuckled it for three years. Cold turkey never stuck. Then something shifted. Her mind finally went quiet, really quiet. She started saying yes to things she used to avoid, and a trip that once would have wrecked her with anxiety became one of the calmest weekends she's had in years. "My brain had shut up... I couldn't even remember the last time that happened to me at all." In this episode, Sherry talks about the childhood that shaped her, the decades of addiction that followed, and the quiet she finally found on the other side. 12 Years Sober. Then One Gas Station ”Botanical” Shot Trapped Her Again. - Project UNWD Ep 59
2026/09/19
Heather is a mom of four, a CNA, and a nursing student working toward becoming a surgical tech. But the person she struggled hardest to help was herself. She'd been sober for twelve years. Then one energy shot from a gas station, marked "botanical," pulled her back under. Then came the 7-OH. Some mornings she couldn't even leave her house. She calls it impending doom, like something terrible is about to happen. It felt like nothing she'd ever experienced. She tried cold turkey. She tried the highest dose of prescription medication. Nothing touched the anxiety that kept pulling her back. Then she found something that finally worked. Everything started to change. "Oh, there's another piece I was missing," she remembers thinking. In this episode, Heather explains what finally broke the cycle, and why she says it saved her family. He Makes Medicine. But Turned To This For His Nightly Panic Attacks - Project UNWD Ep 58
2026/09/11
Allen is a husband, a dad, and a guy who'd rather be fishing or out in the woods than anywhere else. He's spent decades in chemistry, working as a quality director at a pharmaceutical company. That didn't stop his own nights from falling apart. It started about six months ago, out of nowhere. The second he laid down, a wave of dread would hit him. He'd sit up in the living room until 2 or 3 a.m. just to avoid it. Some nights his chest tightened so badly he ended up in the ER, sure it was a heart attack. He saw a psychiatrist, waited months, and got a prescription that made things worse. Then one night, scrolling Instagram, something stopped his thumb. "I didn't feel any buzz, lightheadedness, dizziness... I felt..." In this episode, Allen explains what happened next, and why he calls it the first thing that's actually worked. ”The Meds Didn’t Calm My Anxiety... They Just Turned Off My Feelings” - Project UNWD Ep 48
2026/09/11
Some seasons don't hit you with one problem. They hit you with all of them at once. For Cindy, it was caretaking for aging parents, a father's health crisis, menopause, and years of chronic stress... all stacked on top of each other until she barely recognized herself. She'd tried meds, but instead of relief, she just felt numb. "I'd rather feel everything than feel nothing." In this episode, Cindy shares what it's like when everything happens at once, how she lost touch with herself in the middle of it, and what it took to find her way back... without shutting her feelings off to do it. The shift was so noticeable, her own husband and daughter saw the difference. This is a real conversation about anxiety, burnout, and what it actually feels like to feel like yourself again. He’s a Chiropractor. A Trainer. He Was Also Trapped. Here’s What Got Him Out. - Project UNWD Ep 49
2026/09/11
Dimitry Brener D.C. spent years running seven chiropractic clinics across Southern and Northern California, driving hundreds of miles a week, sleeping three hours a night. Stress led him to kava, then kratom, then a "partial opiate" his cousin swore wasn't addictive. It was. Six years, one motorcycle accident, and a $2,000-a-month habit later, he was on his third round of injections that were only supposed to last a month and stopped working after three weeks. This is the conversation about what got him out... and why, as a self-described skeptic who "doesn't believe in supplements," he says this is the one thing that actually worked. ----- About Dimitri: Dimitri Brener D.C. — former amateur bodybuilder, Doctor of Chiropractic, nutritionist, and personal trainer. I am also a child of the Most High, all-loving Mighty God, forever heavenly Father and Creator of all creation. He Overcame His Addiction. But Faced Another Battle Soon After... - Project UNWD Ep 50
2026/09/11
Justin is 40, married, a parent of two, and 10 years clean from hard drugs… but anxiety never fully let go. Tingling arms, dizziness, a brain that wouldn't shut off. He'd tried other supplements before. Some helped a little. Most did nothing. In this episode he tells us what changed, why he almost didn't order, and what he felt on day one. "It doesn't get you high. It doesn't numb you out. It just makes these emotions easier to deal with." We talk about his mental health journey, the stigma around addiction and anxiety, how he met his wife, and why he's determined to keep getting better for his family. If you're on the fence about starting your own mental health journey, this one's for you. Ready to be the next success story? ➡️ https://unwd.com/shop/mindhack/ #mentalhealth #kalm #mindhack #unwd
”I Was Taking 1,000mg of 7-OH a Day” - Project UNWD Ep 51
2026/09/11
Troy was 28 years old the day his life changed. His younger brother was riding his bike. A driver ran a red light and hit him. His brother died that day. Before that, Troy never had anxiety. Not even once. After his brother died, he could not get through a day without a drink. The drinking got worse. Soon he started having panic attacks. They were so bad he went to the hospital twice. Both times he thought he was having a heart attack. To feel better, he tried kratom. Then he tried something called Feel Free. Then he moved to 7-OH. Soon he was taking almost 1,000mg a day just to get through work and take care of his family. Some days his anxiety got so bad he could not walk into a store alone. He could not even buy his own daughter's birthday cake. He had to call a friend to walk in with him. In this interview, Troy tells his whole story. He explains what kratom and 7-OH withdrawal anxiety really feels like. He talks about being stuck for months trying to cut back. And he explains the moment things finally started to change. If you are trying to get off kratom, Feel Free, or 7-OH right now, and your anxiety will not let up, watch this. It is worth 45 minutes. Troy is not trying to sell you anything. He is just telling you what helped him. Ready to try the same Mind Hack Troy used? ➡️ https://unwd.com/shop/mindhack/ #mentalhealth #kalm #mindhack #unwd
