For the "Ville - The Curse of the Bible Belt Pt.2
2026/09/28
What does it look like to say yes to God today?   In this message from A Series for the Ville, Pastor Terrence turns to Revelation 3:1–6 and Jesus’ words to the church in Sardis: “Be alert and strengthen what remains.” We’re invited to remember what God has done, hold firmly to what we’ve received, and repent where we’ve drifted from His calling.   Following Jesus shapes both our hearts and our actions. Whether at home, at work or school, in our church, or across Louisville, God invites each of us to take part in His work—starting today.   In this service, we also celebrate baptisms, worship and share communion together, and highlight the local outreach partners serving our city through Northeast’s generosity.   Key Scripture: Revelation 3:1–6; Romans 8:1–4   Where might God be asking you to say yes today?   Check out our videos to learn more about us, or visit us at necchurch.org. For the 'Ville - The Curse of the Bible Belt
2026/09/21
What happens when faith becomes more cultural than transformational? In week two of our “A Series for the Ville” series, Pastor Terrence challenges us to examine how Louisville’s cultural and religious divisions have shaped the Church—and our individual lives. Following Jesus requires more than participating in religious activities; it requires surrendering every part of ourselves to Him and allowing His Word to transform how we think and live. Together, we explore four temptations that can keep us from experiencing genuine transformation: - Embedded religiosity - Cultural partiality - Cognitive dissonance - Generational disillusionment Rather than simply inheriting a form of faith from our families, churches, or culture, we are called to develop a personal relationship with Jesus, submit our beliefs and preferences to God’s Word, and live out a faith that produces real fruit. This service includes: - Worship and communion - Baptisms celebrating new life in Christ - An update from Northeast’s Grinstead Campus - A message about resisting cultural conformity - A challenge to examine our lives and strengthen what remains Key Scriptures: 📖 2 Timothy 3:1–5 📖 Romans 12:2 📖 Revelation 3:1–6 “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2 Personal ownership precedes corporate change. As we allow God to transform us personally, we become better equipped to love our city, reach our neighbors, and reflect the life-changing power of Jesus. For the 'Ville - A City Divided
2026/09/14
What would it look like for the Church to become a place where Louisville’s dividing lines no longer separate us? In this service, we celebrate two baptisms and the official launch of Northeast Christian Church’s Grinstead Campus. Pastor Tyler then begins our new sermon series, “A Series for the 'Ville: The Unchanging Truth of God for the Ever-Changing Needs of Our City,” with a message titled “A City Divided.” Together, we examine some of the walls of hostility that have divided Louisville, including partisan politics, denominationalism, racial prejudice, and socioeconomic separation. While our city may be divided, Scripture reminds us that the Church is uniquely equipped to demonstrate a different way—one centered on Jesus. True unity does not require us to erase our differences. Instead, God brings people together through shared truth, a shared mission, and shared forgiveness. When Jesus is at the center, those differences can strengthen the Church and help us become a powerful picture of His love. What if East and West worshiped together, Black and white shared communion, rich and poor called one another family, and Republicans and Democrats gathered around the same Savior? There are no sides at the cross—only level ground where we kneel before Jesus and go on mission together. Join us as we seek to become a united Church that shares the love of Jesus with the entire 'Ville. Check out our videos to learn more about us, or visit us at necchurch.org. Nahum
2026/09/08
What can the books of Jonah and Nahum teach us about the character of God? While Jonah reveals God’s extraordinary mercy toward a repentant Nineveh, Nahum shows His justice toward that same city after generations of rebellion. Together, these books give us a fuller picture of the God described in Exodus 34—compassionate and merciful, slow to anger and filled with unfailing love, yet unwilling to leave sin unpunished. In this Bible Study Weekend message, we explore the history and theology of Nahum, its connection to Jonah, and what its message means for us today. God’s mercy reaches farther than we expect, and His justice waits longer than we expect—but both are certain. Through Jesus, we see the ultimate truth: mercy triumphs over judgment. We are also celebrating an exciting step for Northeast as our Grinstead Campus prepares to launch at Barrett Traditional Middle School! Learn more at necchurch.org/grinstead. Under The Surface - The God-Centered Narrative
2026/08/31
This week, Pastor Terrence wraps up our series through Jonah with a powerful message on living with a God-centered narrative. Looking at Jonah 1:17 through chapter 2, we discover how God's faithful character meets humanity's inconsistent nature. Even in Jonah's rebellion, God remained present, intentional, patient, and full of faithful love. Check out our videos to learn more about us, or visit us at necchurch.org. Under The Surface - Humility
2026/08/24
Pastor Adam Hicks shares a powerful message from the book of Jonah on the topic of humility, exploring how dependence on God is the foundation of spiritual maturity. In a culture that constantly encourages self-reliance and self-promotion, Scripture calls us to something different: a life surrendered to God, trusting Him in every area of our lives. Through Jonah's story, we're challenged to examine two major barriers to spiritual growth: • The illusion of self-sufficiency • The danger of self-righteousness This message reminds us that humility is not weakness, insecurity, or thinking less of ourselves. Humility is recognizing our complete dependence on God and allowing Him to lead every part of our lives. Whether you're facing anxiety, uncertainty, addiction, pride, broken relationships, or simply a season where you feel far from God, this message points back to the hope, grace, and sufficiency found in Jesus Christ. Most importantly, we're reminded of the greatest example of humility the world has ever seen: Jesus. While kings and empires have risen and fallen, Jesus continues to be worshiped around the world because of His love, His sacrifice, and His victory over sin and death. Key Takeaways: - Why humility is essential to spiritual maturity - What Jonah teaches us about surrender and obedience - The difference between dependence on self and dependence on God - How pride can quietly impact our walk with Christ - Why Jesus is our ultimate example of humility #HolyForever #TrustInGod #Worship #ChristianSermon #Jonah #Humility #JesusChrist #Faith #ChurchOnline #PraiseAndWorship #BibleTeaching #ChristianLiving #GodIsFaithful #SundayService #WorshipExperience #JesusIsKing Check out our videos to learn more about us, or visit us at necchurch.org. Under the Surface - Love for the Lost
2026/08/17
In this powerful service, we celebrate life change through baptism, worship together through the song "I've Witnessed It," and dive into the final chapter of Jonah. Through Jonah's story, we explore God's heart for people who are far from Him and the call for every believer to be a witness of Jesus in their daily lives. This service includes: - Worship and prayer - Baptisms celebrating new life in Christ - A message from the book of Jonah - A challenge to embrace evangelism and share God's love with others - Vision and updates on Northeast's new Grinstead Campus Tyler reminds us that while Jonah resisted God's call to reach Nineveh, Jesus calls His followers to go and make disciples. The message challenges us to move beyond comfort, care about those far from God, and take practical steps to share our faith with our families, friends, coworkers, and community. Key Scripture: 📖 Jonah 3:10-4:11 Main Takeaway: God's heart is for the lost. As followers of Jesus, we are called to be His witnesses and help others discover His grace, mercy, and love. Jonah
2026/08/10
Jonah wasn't swallowed by a fish because he made a mistake. He was running from God's mercy. In this Bible Study Weekend sermon, we take a deep dive into the book of Jonah and discover that it's about far more than a prophet and a fish. Jonah is one of the most dramatic, rebellious, stubborn, and relatable figures in Scripture, and his story reveals something powerful about God's heart. As we explore the historical background of Nineveh, the Assyrian Empire, and Jonah's prophetic ministry, we uncover why Jonah fled from God's call and why he was so angry when Nineveh repented. Along the way, we'll see that Jonah's struggle is often our struggle: wrestling with God's will, holding onto resentment, and struggling to extend mercy to people we don't think deserve it. Most importantly, we'll discover the central truth of Jonah: Nothing is beyond God's mercy. Not your worst enemy. Not your worst mistake. Not even your worst day. This message also points us to Jesus, the "Greater Jonah," who didn't run from sinners but came to save them, giving His life so that all who trust in Him could experience God's grace and forgiveness. Scriptures Referenced: Jonah 1-4 2 Kings 14:23-27 Matthew 12:40-41 Luke 11:29-32 Key Takeaways: - Why Jonah ran from Nineveh - The historical context of Assyria and Israel - God's mercy for both Nineveh and Jonah - What Jonah reveals about our own hearts - How Jesus fulfills and surpasses Jonah's story

School Blitz 2026 Prayer and Worship Service
2026/07/27
What an incredible night of worship, prayer, communion, and encouragement as our church gathered to prepare for School Blitz and celebrate what God is doing throughout our city. In this service, we were reminded that Jesus is the reason for everything we do. Through powerful worship, a message on biblical servanthood from Philippians 2, and intentional prayer for students, teachers, administrators, schools, and local churches, we centered our hearts on God's mission to love and serve our community. As we prepare to take the church beyond the building and into our schools and neighborhoods, we pray that every act of service points people to Christ and reflects His love, grace, and hope. In this message: - The heart of servanthood according to Jesus - Why serving others reflects God's character - Prayer for local schools, teachers, students, and leaders - The vision behind School Blitz and Love the Ville - Worship and communion focused on Christ alone "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves." – Philippians 2:3 Check out our videos to learn more about us, or visit us at necchurch.org. The Scandel of Grace - Hosea
2026/07/20
Would you trust God enough to accept the radical call of Hosea? In this convicting message, Tyler lays out for us the often forgotten part of God's redeeming and sanctifying plan. We see ourselves as the Gomer, the sinner who returns to God. But we often stop short and don't see ourselves as Hosea, the prophet who in turn must carry out the hard tasks from God. Do we trust God enough to accept His radical calling even when it requires sacrifice and suffering from our part?
The Scandal of Grace - Gomer
2026/07/20
What is God really like? In this powerful message, we continue our study through the book of Hosea and discover a breathtaking picture of God’s love. Through the story of Hosea and Gomer, we see that God loves us like a devoted husband; even when we are unfaithful, broken, and far from Him. This sermon explores some of life’s biggest questions: Does God exist? What is He like? And what does He want from us? Through Scripture, we learn that while our sin has consequences, God never stops pursuing us. Just as Hosea redeemed Gomer, Jesus came to rescue us when we could not rescue ourselves. We also celebrate incredible stories of life change through baptism, witnessing people publicly declare their faith in Jesus Christ. Their testimonies remind us that no one is beyond God’s grace and that every person has an opportunity to come home to Him. In this message: The powerful story of Hosea and Gomer God’s unfailing love and pursuit of His people The reality of sin, grace, and redemption How Jesus fulfills the story of Hosea Inspiring baptism testimonies and life change No matter where you are in your faith journey, this message is a reminder that God has not given up on you. His invitation still stands: Come home.
Hosea
2026/07/06
This weekend at Northeast, we kicked off a brand-new Bible study series through the book of Hosea, one of the most powerful pictures of God's grace in all of Scripture. Tyler opened Hosea and took us on a Bible-study journey through Israel's history to help us understand the context behind one of the Bible's most shocking commands: "Go and marry a prostitute." God called the prophet Hosea to marry Gomer, an unfaithful woman, as a living illustration of Israel's relationship with God. Just as Gomer repeatedly ran from Hosea, Israel repeatedly ran from God through idolatry, rebellion, and covenant unfaithfulness. Although Israel was enjoying political success and prosperity under King Jeroboam II, Hosea revealed a deeper problem: their hearts had drifted from God. They were worshiping idols, trusting other sources for blessing, and breaking their covenant with the Lord. But Hosea's story is not ultimately about judgment it's about grace. Even after Gomer abandoned him, Hosea continued to love her. When she found herself broken, enslaved, and at rock bottom, Hosea paid the price to buy her back and bring her home. That redemption story points directly to Jesus. Just as Hosea redeemed his unfaithful bride, Jesus came to redeem us. We are Gomer. We are the ones who wander. Yet Jesus refuses to give up on us. He pursues us, pays our debt, covers our shame, and invites us back into relationship with Him. The heart of the message was simple: It's time to come home. No matter your past, your failures, or how far you've drifted, God's grace is greater. Through Jesus, forgiveness, restoration, and a new beginning are available to everyone. Jesus paid the price to bring us home; will we respond to His invitation? Check out our videos to learn more about us, or visit us at necchurch.org. Intentional Parenting | A Doctor Talks Parenting In Church
2026/06/29
In this service, we explore the heart behind investing in the next generation and why the role of parents is so crucial in shaping a child’s faith. From powerful moments of worship and baptism to personal stories of parenting, this sermon highlights how deeply God designed families to pass down faith from one generation to the next. You’ll learn how parents, not culture, social media, or even the church, have the greatest influence on their children’s spiritual lives. The message unpacks both encouraging research and hard truths, showing that while parents have incredible impact, many unintentionally focus more on raising “good and happy” kids than helping them truly know God. The good news? Passing down faith doesn’t have to be complicated. Something as simple as consistently talking about God in everyday life can make a lasting difference. This sermon challenges families to refocus their priorities, partner with the church, and intentionally guide their children toward a genuine relationship with Jesus. Because at the end of the day, the goal isn’t just successful kids; it’s kids whose lives are rooted in faith. A powerful reminder that the next generation isn’t just the future of the church; they are the mission right now. Check out our videos to learn more about us, or visit us at necchurch.org. Controversial Christianity
2026/06/22
In this message from the Controversial Christianity series, we tackle a topic that hits close to home for many families: youth sports culture. While sports can be fun, meaningful, and even formative, they also carry powerful influences that can shape our values; sometimes in ways that conflict with our faith. We explore why this conversation matters, especially in a church filled with parents and kids deeply involved in athletics. Sports can be an incredible tool for character formation, relationship building, and living out our faith in everyday life; but only if we approach them with intention. The challenge? Modern youth sports culture often promotes values like: Winning at all costs Performance as identity Overcommitment and pressure Left unchecked, these values can take priority over what truly matters. Instead, we’re called to a greater “why”: Moral formation – shaping character and Christlikeness Family mission – using sports as a platform to love others and share Jesus Personal joy – enjoying the gift of the game without letting it define us Through practical guidance, we’re reminded to: Put identity in Christ, not performance Prioritize character over results Choose healthy team cultures Stay rooted in faith, even during busy sports seasons And one truth we can’t ignore: The odds of going pro in sports are incredibly small; but the reality of standing before God someday is 100%. So the question becomes: Is our “why” big enough? Let’s reorient our lives, our parenting, and our priorities around Jesus, using every field, court, and game as an opportunity to reflect His love.
