Episode 869: MotoGP Indonesia – Under Pressure
2026/10/17
Jim and Rich are back together to discuss all the goings on in MotoGP following Round 17 from the Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia. First up it’s the news and some detailed discussions on the new weekend format recently announced for 2027. This will see an overhaul to the MotoGP sessions running from Friday to Sunday, with the big change being a dedicated qualifying session to determine the Sprint race grid. There was also the sad news concerning Kristian Daniel Snr who passed away following the recent floods in Barcelona. Heartfelt condolences go out to the Daniel family from all at MotoPod.
Mandalika proved to be as tough as ever with heat and humidity punishing the teams and riders. In Moto3 Max Quilles took a dominant win to lift the championship with 5 races to spare. An awesome achievement. In Moto2, a first turn crash involving Alondo, Holgado, Roberts and Veijer resulted in a red flag and shortened restart distance. Alex Escrig would have lifted the winners trophy but for a technical failure on the penultimate lap. In the end, Izan Guevara took his third successive victory, meaning he now trails Manuel Gonzales by just 5½ points. MotoGP is even closer at the top, with Martin & Marquez separated by just 2 points. The Sprint & Grand Prix were overshadowed by yet more tyre pressure trouble and management for Martin and Acosta in particular. This prompts much discussion!

Episode 866: Boring Racing?
2026/10/07
Jim and Rich return to the microphone and discuss whether the racing form Motegi was actually boring. The racing was processional but there was intrigue involved. It all started on Saturday during the Sprint. Tires started to blister and come apart on some bikes. Discussions were had and Michelin strongly encouraged the use of the hard tire for Sunday. It turns out that the hard tire was actually a good tire as Marc set his fastest lap on lap 18 and Bastianini set the fastest lap of the race on lap 22. The follow the leader race closed the fight for the championship to just 2 points between Marc and Jorge.
In Moto3, soon to be crowned champ, Quiles had a very unlike himself race and finished a close second to Almansa. Uriarte, who could have won or at the very least been on the podium was given a double long lap penalty because his crew was working on the motorcycle after the 3 minute board was displayed.
In Moto2, Guevara led every lap to win a very processional race that only had excitement before it started. On the grid after the warm up lap, Gonzalez had a clutch issue that caused his bike to stall and he had to start from pit lane. With Guevara winning and Gonzalez failing to score a point, the title race has closed to just 10.5 points. Gonzalez needs a bounce back race next time out.

Episode 864: WSBK and BSB Round 9
2026/09/26
Karl and Danny take you to Round 9 of both WorldSBK at Magny-Cours and the British Superbikes at Assen.
In WorldSBK, Nicolo Bulega dominated the French weekend, taking pole before completing a clean sweep of all three races. Iker Lecuona was his closest challenger, finishing second in each race, while Yari Montella secured two podiums. We cover the intense battles between Bulega and Lecuona, several crashes, the red flags, and Bulega’s growing championship advantage, which now stands at 146 points.
At Assen, the BSB weekend produced three very different races. Scott Redding won the opening two races, with Kyle Ryde taking victory in Race 3 after a dramatic final-lap battle involving Bradley Ray and Redding. Ryde leaves Assen leading the championship on 459 points, with Redding on 391 and Ray on 349.
We also cover the latest BSB news, including Charlie Nesbitt’s departure from TAG Racing, Bradley Ray’s 2027 deal with McAMS Yamaha and the developing technical regulations for next season.
Also, Danny puts his cap on the floor and begs for some charitable folks to dip into their pockets for a great cause. Penny, who is just 7 years old, suffers with a serious condition called Cystic Fibrosis. This has many detrimental effects on Penny's health but with the love and support from her mum and dad Stef and James, Penny is a bright, bubbly young girl, given the best chance in life. The family have done fundraisers before, but nothing like this one! Stef is getting her racing licence and jumping on the back of Michael (Jack) Russell's sidecar for a race. It is safe to say, Stef is terrified of this but will do anything to help out a charity that is so close to her heart. So, with that said, lets get the coffers out and pledge some funds to a great cause! Penny, this one is for you.

Episode 863: MotoGP Austria – Breakthrough!
2026/09/25
Jim and Rich discuss an entertaining MotoGP Round 15 from the Red Bull Ring in Austria. At long last, this was the breakthrough weekend we have all been waiting for with Pedro Acosta scoring his first MotoGP win. It was a tense affair, with Acosta throwing away a certain win in the Saturday Sprint, only to bounce back and find redemption with the Sunday victory; the first of many no doubt! In Moto3, a similar story saw David Almansa crash out of an early lead, handing an unchallenged victory to Max Quilles. Further back, we all got to enjoy a titanic battle, which saw Britain’s Eddie O’Shea score a memorable 4th place. Moto2 was the weekends forgettable race, albeit Izan Guevara took a win to move within 36 points of series leader Manuel Gonzales.

Episode 862: MotoGP Misano – The Tide Turns
2026/09/17
Jim and Rich are back to discuss MotoGP Round 14 from the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in San Marino. After a round of the week’s news its straight into Moto3 and yet another masterclass from Max Quilles. The Moto2 race was one that got away, with the front row going down at turn 1, allowing Manuel Gonzalez an easier than expected and much needed win to steady his nerves after a shaky few rounds. In MotoGP Marc Marquez took a maximum 37 points for the second round running to level up the top of the points table. This was the race where the Aprilia’s were expected to shine and present a challenge to Ducati. As it was, Ogura was absent through injury, Fernandez was slightly off colour, Martin had arm pump and Bezzecchi crashed out on lap 1 of the Sunday race. Next up it’s the Qatar Airways Grand Prix ff Austria at the Red Bull Ring.

Episode 858: MotoGP Aragon – Back On Track For Marc
2026/09/09
Jim and Rich are back to discuss MotoGP Round 13 from Aragon in Spain. First up it’s the news, with more details emerging on the controversial new circuit proposed for Adelaide in Australia. There is a fair bit of Moto2 rider placement news, along with crazy Toprak antics and a look ahead to how riders are going to find the 2027 850’s.
In Moto3 Max Quilles gave a dominant performance just weeks after collarbone surgery, further extending his already enormous points lead. Alonso Lopez continued his upturn in form with a dominant win in Moto2, which remains a close contest in the points at this stage of the season. In MotoGP, Marc Marquez got his campaign back on track with a maximum points haul, whilst Marco Bezzecchi fought hard in Marc’s back yard to grab a pair of hard fought podiums. Rider of the MotoGP race was Pedro Acosta, once again conjuring magic from the KTM. Its all to play for as the championship gets hectic all the way through to its conclusion at the end of November. Moto3 looks sealed but its super close in Moto2 and MotoGP heading into the remaining 8 rounds.

Episode 857: The BSB Backlog
2026/09/02
With the summer break over, Danny and Karl are back and it’s been a busy few weeks with Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Thruxton all delivering plenty of action.
Brands Hatch saw Kyle Ryde dominate the weekend with two wins, while Scott Redding took the final race. Max Cook was incredibly consistent, taking three podiums as the championship battle at the front continued to tighten.
Oulton Park saw Bradley Ray take the opening race before Ryde bounced back with two wins on Sunday. Redding and Ray also featured strongly, but Ryde left Cheshire having extended his championship lead to 30 points.
Then came Thruxton and another cracking weekend. Ryde took victory in race one before Ryan Vickers stole the show on Sunday, winning both races for his first victories of the season. Redding had a frustrating weekend, including a crash in race three, while Ryde's consistency saw him extend his championship advantage.
With the Showdown getting closer, Ryde leads Redding, with Bradley Ray and Max Cook still firmly in the mix.

Karl & Danny are joined again by Rich to discuss Round 8 of WSBK season which took place in July at the legendary Donington Park circuit in the UK. The guys discuss the 3 Superbike races, the first of which saw Bulega’s long run of wins broken by his teammate Iker Lecuona on the other Aruba.it Racing Ducati. Normal service was resumed in the Superpole and Race 2, with Bulega winning and extending his championship lead to a massive 133 points. For the home fans it was a boost to see Sam Lowes take a third-place finish in the Superpole Race, with Tommy Bridewell having a strong weekend and Jake Dixon back from a long injury break. The Brits also had an amazing double win to celebrate in WSSP with Tom Booth-Amos taking a pair of victories.
After the boys talk through the races, it’s over to Rich again and the interviews he captured preceding the race weekend. We have, Albert Arenas (45.44), Jake Dixon (57.43), Miguel Oliveira (1:09.52) & Valentin Debise (1:18.15). Episode 855: Aprilia Rules
2026/08/27
We're back! Jim and Rich get together after a long summer break to talk about the British Grand Prix from Silverstone. The Moto3 race was a wild affair as championship leader Max Quiles broke his collar bone in qualifying. The race on Sunday was a barn burner classic Moto3 fair that was won by Almansa after Uriate crashed on the last lap.
Moto2 was the best race of the weekend. It was full of heartbreak and feel good story lines. This awesome action packed race was won by Salac after Gonzalez thought he had won but miscounted the last lap. As Gonzalez let off to celebrate be was hit by Holgado in the exhaust. Gonzalez limped home in 14th place.
The MotoGP races were not very exciting. The Ducatis' were struggling with rear grip all weekend while the Aprilias were on rails. Martin won the Sprint on Saturday and on Sunday Fernandez won by a country mile. This weekend shook up the points as Martin leads by 31. Bezzecchi is second while Ogura is third after crashing out on Sunday. Marc Marquez is fourth and Digi is fifth only 41 points behind Martin.
