Invitation to Rest
2026/10/25
Pastor Steve Harrison explores Hebrews 3:7-4:13 and God's invitation to enter His rest. Israel's unbelief and disobedience offer a serious warning: hearing God's Word without faith leads to hardened hearts and keeps people from the rest He promises. Jesus offers something greater than Joshua could provide. Through His finished work on the cross, believers receive forgiveness, a cleansed conscience, and true spiritual rest. Yet this is not passive or lazy. Christians are called to trust, obey, encourage one another, and allow the living Word of God to expose and transform their hearts. During Missions Week, Pastor Steve challenges Grace to work from Christ's rest by sharing the gospel, Actively Praying, Generously Giving, and going across the street and around the world so others can know Jesus and enter His rest.
Faithful Builder
2026/10/18
Pastor Troy Dobbs teaches from Hebrews 3:1-6, showing why Jesus is worthy of greater glory than Moses. Moses was a faithful servant in God's house, but Jesus is the faithful Son over the house and the Builder of God's people. As both Apostle and High Priest, Christ perfectly represents God to humanity and believers before God. Pastor Troy explains that when following Jesus becomes costly, Christians must consider Christ until His greatness outweighs their present crisis. Believers can honor faithful leaders without confusing God's servants with God's Son or anchoring their faith to human personalities and ministries. Finally, the call to hold fast does not teach salvation by endurance; perseverance reveals genuine faith. This message encourages Christians to keep moving forward, grip the hope found in Christ, and trust that Jesus is better than anything they might return to.
Helper and Deliverer
2026/10/11
Pastor Troy Dobbs teaches from Hebrews 2:14-18, answering why Jesus had to become human. By fully sharing our humanity, Jesus could die in our place, defeat death, break the devil's power, and free believers from lifelong fear. As our merciful and faithful High Priest, He offered Himself as the sacrifice that atones for sin and restores us to God. Pastor Troy explains that salvation is not a self-help system or a shallow transaction, but a divine rescue accomplished through Christ's love and sacrifice. Because Jesus also suffered when tempted, He understands our weakness and has the power to help us now. This message encourages believers to view death as a defeated enemy, approach Christ rather than hide in shame, and live with freedom, faithfulness, and confidence in His present help.
Founder of Salvation
2026/10/04
Pastor Troy Dobbs continues in Hebrews by showing how Jesus restores what sin has broken. Humanity was created for glory, honor, and dominion, yet the world is not as God intended. Hebrews 2:5–13 turns our attention to Jesus, who entered our condition, tasted death for everyone, and was crowned with glory through suffering. As the Founder of salvation, Jesus opened the way to heaven by taking the penalty for sin and completing His God-appointed mission. He also sanctifies believers, welcomes them into His family, and is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. Pastor Troy encourages believers to keep looking to Jesus when the world feels broken, shame threatens their identity, or suffering causes them to question God’s purposes. Their hope rests in Christ’s finished work and unfailing goodness.
Warning Against Drifting
2026/09/27
Pastor Troy Dobbs continues in Hebrews with the book’s first command: pay much closer attention to Jesus and the gospel. Hebrews 2:1–4 warns that spiritual drift is a real danger, neglect has serious consequences, and no one escapes God’s by ignoring His great salvation. Pastor Troy explains that drift rarely begins with open rebellion; it grows through small distractions, careless habits, and a loss of intentionality. Yet the answer is not simply to fear drifting, but to look again at what believers have in Christ. Salvation was declared by Jesus, confirmed by eyewitnesses, and authenticated by God. Pastor Troy encourages believers to examine their direction, establish practical anchors in Scripture and prayer, remove distractions, and renew their attention to the glorious Savior who made provision for sin.
Superior to Angels
2026/09/20
Pastor Troy Dobbs continues in Hebrews by showing why Jesus is not merely the best among angels—He is in an entirely different category. Hebrews 1:4–14 declares that Jesus has the superior name, honor, position, example, nature, and authority. Angels are created servants who worship and carry out God’s purposes, but Jesus is the eternal Creator, righteous King, and enthroned Son who alone saves. Drawing from seven Old Testament passages, Pastor Troy explains that Scripture itself testifies to Christ’s supremacy and unchanging nature. He warns that spiritual drift begins when we believe money, relationships, success, sin, or anything else is better than Jesus. Because there is no upgrade from Christ, believers can find their security, identity, and salvation in Him and refuse to treat Him as second best.
Majestic Son
2026/09/13
Pastor Troy Dobbs begins the book of Hebrews by inviting believers to see Jesus more clearly and majestically. In Hebrews 1:1-3, Jesus is revealed as God’s final Word, the heir and creator of all things, the radiance of God’s glory, the exact imprint of His nature, and the One who sustains the universe. He is also the perfect High Priest and sacrifice who purified sin once for all and now reigns at God’s right hand. Because Jesus is fully God, believers can give Him their complete allegiance and confidence. His finished work secures forgiveness, removes condemnation, and offers peace in the middle of chaos. Pastor Troy encourages believers to rest in Christ and grow in their vision of Him, trusting that the One who holds the universe together can hold their lives together too.
Mission
2026/09/06
Pastor Troy Dobbs explains why Grace Church exists: to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ across the street and around the world. From Matthew 28:18-20, he shows that Jesus gives the church its authority, command, scope, process, and sustaining promise. Discipleship is more than helping someone say yes to Jesus; it means helping people follow, learn from, and obey Him for a lifetime. Pastor Troy challenges believers to reflect God's greatness in everyday life, share the gospel with the people already around them, and remain engaged in God's work among all nations. He encourages the church to move from merely stating its mission to living it with courage, faithfulness, and dependence on the Holy Spirit.
See the Harvest
2026/08/30
Pastor Juan Cuevas teaches from Matthew 9:35-38, where Jesus sees the crowds with compassion and calls His followers to recognize a plentiful harvest. He explains that every generation's greatest need is reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ, even amid real struggles such as anxiety, loneliness, uncertainty, and spiritual deconstruction. Looking at what God is doing through The Co, Pastor Juan encourages the church to see young adults not with frustration or fear, but with hope, compassion, and expectancy. Because the harvest belongs to God, believers can depend on Him to change hearts while faithfully proclaiming the gospel. Pastor Juan challenges Christians across every generation to pray for more laborers, put on compassionate hearts, make room for people who are far from God, and be willing to enter the harvest themselves.
Persistence
2026/08/23
Pastor Troy Dobbs concludes the Acts series by tracing Paul’s journey from Malta to house arrest in Rome. Though Paul faces a shipwreck, a snakebite, and physical confinement, he trusts God’s providence and continues telling everyone who comes to him about Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God. Pastor Troy explains that Paul’s chains did not cancel his calling; they became the setting for faithful witness and deeper impact. Acts ends without resolving Paul’s personal story because the gospel mission is still moving forward. Believers are not simply observers of the early church but active participants in that unfinished work. Pastor Troy encourages Christians to leverage their limitations, value substance over spectacle, and persist with courage, endurance, and consistency as they share the gospel wherever God has placed them.
Shipwrecked
2026/08/16
Pastor Troy Dobbs continues through Acts 27, tracing Paul’s dangerous voyage to Rome and the shipwreck that threatened everyone aboard. He explains that storms, poor decisions, and structural failure could not overturn God’s promise that Paul would stand before Caesar and every life would be preserved. When everything the travelers trusted was stripped away, God’s Word remained unshaken. Pastor Troy shows how difficult journeys reveal human weakness and God’s strength, display His power before watching people, and prove that a messy landing can still be a divine victory. He encourages believers to resist their own escape plans, stay anchored to Scripture, and trust God through loss and uncertainty. Even when the ship is gone, God remains faithful, advances the gospel, and keeps His Word.
Testify
2026/08/09
Pastor Troy explores Paul’s trials before Festus and King Agrippa, showing how God can transform false accusations, political corruption, imprisonment, and suffering into opportunities to testify about Jesus Christ. Though Paul faces hostility and is treated unjustly, he boldly presents the gospel, defends the historical reality of the resurrection, and explains that Christianity fulfills God’s promises throughout Scripture. Paul’s witness demonstrates that the gospel calls every person—regardless of status or influence—to repent, turn to God, and respond decisively to Jesus. This message encourages believers to view hardship as a platform for faithful witness, confidently proclaim the truth of the resurrection, and recognize the spiritual danger of being almost persuaded without fully surrendering to Christ.
Delayed
2026/08/02
Pastor Troy explores Paul’s trial before Governor Felix, highlighting how faithful Christians should expect false accusations, misrepresentation, political pressure, and seasons of unjust suffering while trusting that God’s sovereign purposes cannot be delayed. Though Paul’s opponents distort the truth, he responds with courage, integrity, and unwavering confidence in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, demonstrating what it means to remain faithful under pressure. He contrasts Paul’s bold obedience with Felix’s tragic decision to delay repentance, reminding believers that postponing a response to God’s truth is spiritually dangerous. This message encourages Christians to stand firm in biblical truth, trust God’s justice over human systems, and respond immediately to the gospel.
Unfinished
2026/07/26
In Acts 23, Pastor Troy explores God's providence through one of the most chaotic moments in Paul's life. Though Paul faces false accusations, violence, an assassination plot, and imprisonment, God is quietly directing every event to fulfill His promise of bringing Paul to Rome. The message reminds us that God's purposes are never threatened by closed doors, ordinary circumstances, or human opposition. Because Jesus stands with His people and keeps His promises, believers can trust that their lives are not random, their suffering is not wasted, and their story is not finished until God says it is.
Declaration
2026/07/19
In Acts 21–22, Pastor Troy highlighted how Paul turned a hostile confrontation into an opportunity to proclaim the Gospel. Rather than defending his reputation, Paul shared how Jesus radically transformed his life, pointing the crowd to Christ instead of himself. Even when faced with false accusations, rejection, and the threat of suffering, Paul faithfully used his testimony, background, and circumstances to advance the Gospel. Pastor Troy challenged believers to remember that every Christian testimony is powerful because it showcases God's mercy and grace, not our own accomplishments. He also encouraged us to keep our testimonies centered on Jesus, grounded in Scripture, and focused on God's goodness rather than glorifying our past. Ultimately, the message reminded us that when we face opposition or difficult circumstances, our greatest goal is not to defend ourselves but to faithfully declare Christ and use every opportunity to share the Gospel.
