Flowing on from Easter we want to discover what Jesus has done impacts WHO we are. From the very beginning scripture reveals a God who forms. In every season, God is at work guiding us toward the ultimate goal: to reflect the image of Christ. Crowds followed Him, leaders questioned Him, disciples left everything for Him, and enemies sought to silence Him. In every instance, the same underlying question can be found: Who is this man? Through His words and works, Jesus revealed His identity. He spoke with authority, performed miracles and made bold declarations about Himself through I AM statements. He claimed to be the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Good Shepherd, and the Resurrection and the Life. It’s clear Jesus desired everyone to receive the revelation of His identity and how that identity defined the events that took place which we remember at Easter. One of those events being His crucifixion where even a hardened Roman soldier standing at the foot of the cross was moved to declare, “Surely this man was the Son of God.” This Easter season invites us to ask the same question for ourselves. Who is this man, Jesus? As we answer the question through this series, we are inviting our church to respond with faith, awe, confidence and renewed devotion.

Today we look at the very beginning of Jesus' ministry in Mark 3 where some unusual things began to happen which caused people to ask, "Who is this man?". Jesus teaches us, 1) The devil is a strong man, 2) Jesus is the stronger man, 3) Jesus has bound the strong man.

Jesus didn’t just model a powerful life of faith; He invited us into it. In John 14, Jesus promises that those who believe in Him will do the works He did and even greater things, because of the power of the Holy Spirit at work within us to see His ministry extended and multiplied through His people. Throughout scripture we see a consistent call to a life of faith and believing for things not yet seen. We also see incredible stories of men and women whose lives carried eternal significance because their story was marked by an unrivalled trust in God being faithful to His promises and people. These elements of scripture can be a great encouragement to us when life begins to feel stagnant and vision for our purpose, our workplace, our finances, for community and family seems limited.

Jesus said we will see greater things, but often what gets in the way is our limited & wrong thinking. Greater things start with greater thoughts. We look at the 3 elements of having greater thoughts.
