We discuss the big news stories when they happen, and focus on having conversations about the things we love (and not love). PodQuest 610 – Seven Samurai, Daredevil, and Innovation

This week on PodQuest, we have our latest book club chat about the 1954 Akira Kurosawa classic Seven Samurai, Chris has been reading the 2023 run of Daredevil, and Walnut played a new board game called Innovation. We also chat a bit about Droo's time seeing The Wonder Years 4 times last week, and an MCU related tangent.

PodQuest 609 – American Dream Mall, Venom Comics, and Maya: Seed Takes Root

This week on PodQuest, Walnut traveled to the American Dream Mall in North Jersey, Chris caught up on the 2021-2024 Venom run by Al Ewing, and Walnut also finished the book Maya: Seed Takes Root. We also chat a bit about what he's going to read next, and concerts.

PodQuest 608 – The Expendables, Mario Galaxy Movie, SJ Geekfest

This week on PodQuest, we have our next book club discussion on the 2010 action film The Expendables, then Walnut talks about the Super Mario Galaxy movie, and he stopped in at SJ Geekfest for the first time since our inaugural episode was recorded way back in 2014! We also hear a bit from Chris about cars. *Note - There are spoilers for Mario Galaxy and some MCU movie spoilers too!

PodQuest 607 – Bleach, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and MidiEvil

This week on PodQuest, Walnut has finished his rewatch of Bleach leading up to the final cour of the Thousand Year Blood War arc, Chris is reading the 2024 IDW relaunch of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Walnut also played and 100%'d the MidiEvil (2019) remake. At the top of the show we also talk a bit about pre-release spoilers done as marketing for things like the Super Mario Galaxy movies and the recent Resident Evil 9.

PodQuest 606 – Robocop, Tear Down Heaven, and Project Hail Mary

This week on PodQuest, we have our next book club discussion on Robocop, wrapping up our theme of movies that were set in the future but are now the past. Then Chris finished up the Tear Down Heaven book series by Rachel Aaron earlier this month, and Walnut went out to see Project Hail Mary. We also talk about some recent gaming news such as the Epic Games layoffs, and Walnut was on GamersFued this past weekend!

PodQuest 605 – Future Games Show, Mountain Goats, and One Piece Live Action

This week, Chris and Walnut chat about the Future Games Showcase, share some board game highlights, including Mountain Goats with the Big Mountain expansion, and Chris dives into the latest season of the One Piece live-action series. They also touch on the recent Firefly announcement, more board games they’ve been playing, and a bit of anime.

PodQuest 604 – Escape from New York, Pokopia, and Min-Maxed

This week on PodQuest, we have our next book club discussion on 1981's Kurt Russel starring Escape From New York, then Chris has been playing a lot of Pokopia, and Walnut talks about some internet drama related to the DND series Min-Maxed. We also talk a bit about Droo doing some real world Curling, and a bit of speculation around the Firefly teases happening by Nathan Fillion and the cast.

PodQuest 603 – Resident Evil Requiem, Pepper Grinder, and Pokemon Presents 2026

This week on PodQuest, Walnut has already beaten Resident Evil Requiem once, but he's not done yet! Then Chris is playing the 2024 action platformer Pepper Grinder, and we all chat for a while about the 30th Anniversary Pokemon Day Presents from last week as well as our issues with the series and what we hope to see with Generation 10.We also chat a bit about the board game Logic & Lore!

PodQuest 602 – Johnny Mnemonic, The Fall of X, and Aetherspire

This week on PodQuest we have our latest book club discussion on the 1995 Keanu Reeves film Johnny Mnemonic, then Chris is back on comics after more than a year off, and he's talking about The Fall of X. Then Chris and Walnut spent some time over the weekend playing the tabletop game Aetherspire. There's also a little Magic the Gathering talk, and Walnut finished the Tomb Raider Remaster and started playing Roadside Research.

PodQuest 601 – Diablo II, Forever Skies, Silent Hill f

This week on PodQuest, Drootin has put in some time with the Warlock class in Diablo II Resurrected, Walnut finished his time with Forever Skies, and Chris started playing Silent Hill f. We also chat a about last week's Sony State of Play, Chris finished up Dispatch, and Walnut has been rewatching Bleach.

PodQuest 600 – Spinal Tap II, Superball, and Dispatch

This week on PodQuest we have our next book club discussion on Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, wrapping up our theme of sequels more than a decade after the previous film. Then Walnut spends some time talking about Superball and Chris has been playing Dispatch. And we wrap things up this week chatting a bit about the tabletop game, Coup Rebellion.

PodQuest 599 – Tomb Raider, Highguard, and Shrinking

2026/02/05

This week on PodQuest, Walnut has been playing some games including the Tomb Raider Remaster and Highguard, meanwhile Chris caught up on some shows starting with Shrinking on Apple TV+. We also have a bit of a Dragon Ball discussion, Walnut played some Nice Day for Fishing, and Chris watched season two of Platonic, also on Apple TV+.

PodQuest 598 – Tron Ares, Reavers of Midgard, and To Be Hero X

We're all back this week to talk about things! First stop is our latest book club discussion, 2025's Tron: Ares. Then Chris and Walnut played some boardgames a couple weeks ago including Reavers of Midgard, and Chris has been watching the anime anthology To Be Hero X. We also chat a bit about walnut finishing up Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with nearly 100%, and the tabletop game Horrified: American Monsters.

PodQuest 597 – Aetherspire, Blood on the Clocktower, and Quarantine Zone

This week on PodQuest, Drootin and Walnut sit down to talk about some tabletop games! Walnut played Aetherspire, then Drootin talks about playing social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower in a legacy scenario, and Walnut then wraps things up with Quarantine Zone.
