How to Know You Are Saved — It's Not a Doctrine
2026/09/29
This week, we’re pulling from the archives with a session from Dudley’s series Grace: Living in the Liberty of God’s Love. Dudley opens Romans 5 — what he calls “the much more chapter.” Salvation is wonderful, but it is so much more than fire insurance or a clean slate for past sins. God has prepared a life abundant and free, far beyond anything we would think to ask for. And for many of us, the first “much more” is the one we need most: knowing we are saved. So how do you know you are saved? Not by winning the debate over eternal security, and not by cataloging verses. Assurance of salvation is a ministry of the Holy Spirit, who speaks to your heart by name. Drawing on a moment from his father-in-law’s funeral, Dudley invites us out of doubt and false guilt and into a confident, intimate relationship with Jesus. Salvation is not a bunch of doctrines believed. It is a ministry of Jesus received. You can find the full Grace series, along with more of Dudley’s teaching, at StudyWithDudley.com. We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. As always, we invite you to share it with someone who needs it. Get Dudley's Weekly Word delivered right to your inbox every Friday! Feel Like a Bad Christian? What "My Grace Is Sufficient" Really Means
2026/09/22
In this episode, Dudley and Sam unpack the new tagline on the Kerygma Ventures homepage: good news for bad Christians. So many believers quietly carry guilt, shame, and frustration, convinced they're just not very good at following Jesus. Dudley gently turns that frame over. God does invite us to grow in maturity, but He doesn't sort His children into good and bad. And if we think we're doing pretty well on our own, we may have lost sight of our need for a Savior. Walking through Paul's thorn in the flesh and 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness," Dudley shows how our weakness becomes the very place God's mercy shows up. We aren't called to be models of morality, but trophies of His grace. And when we stop performing for God's approval, we discover the joy of knowing He already delights in us, and we're free to join Him in what He loves. We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. As always, we invite you to share it with someone who needs it. Get Dudley's Weekly Word delivered right to your inbox every Friday! Everyone Quotes These Bible Verses Wrong — Here's What They Actually Say
2026/09/15
Some of the most quoted lines in Christian life are not in the Bible at all, and some of our most beloved scriptures are saying something very different from what we have made them say. God helps those who help themselves. Money is the root of all evil. I can do all things through Christ. For I know the plans I have for you. We have put these on coffee mugs and sneakers and greeting cards, and somewhere along the way we stopped hearing them. In this conversation Dudley and Sam walk through several of the Bible verses most often taken out of context, and the pattern underneath them turns out to be the same one every time. We want something to hand across the counter. We want a text we can hold up as leverage — a step we have taken, a principle we have kept — so that God owes us the blessing. That is the transactional message of religion, and it is exactly what these verses were never written to support. God does not help those who help themselves. He helps those who cannot help themselves. If we could manage on our own, we would have no need of a Savior. Jeremiah 29:11 was spoken to a people walking into captivity. Philippians 4:13 is Paul in prison, promising strength for what God has actually assigned — not a guarantee that you will hit a fastball. And the Sermon on the Mount is not a harder set of commandments to climb; it is an upside-down announcement that the poor are rich and the merciful are safe, because the King has already done everything for them. Read as one unfolding story rather than a collection of disconnected religious rules, these verses stop being leverage and start being good news. We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. As always, we invite you to share it with someone who needs it. Get Dudley's Weekly Word delivered right to your inbox every Friday! The Bible Isn't a Self-Help Manual — Here's How to Read It
2026/09/08
Today, Sam asks Dudley a question many people are quietly carrying: how can we trust the Bible, a book this old, written by men? Dudley meets it directly — the manuscripts behind Scripture are older, more numerous, and more consistent than anything else we call history. Then he goes deeper. Yes, it was written by men. God said He would use humankind to accomplish His mission on earth. He didn't drop plates out of the sky; He inspired the writers. And the same Spirit who inspired the writing now lives in us to explain it. From there the conversation turns closer to home. We are being formed by what we consume, and Dudley offers a gentle caution: misdiagnose the problem and you will reach for the wrong cure. Insight is welcome and wisdom is a gift, but if every road of self-discovery ends in more of us, we have landed in the wrong place. Scripture is not a manual for a better you — it is the story of God revealing Himself, and every page points to Jesus. We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. Gospel Culture
2026/09/01
This week Dudley brings us his monthly message, Gospel Culture. Paul told the Corinthians he was handing them the thing he considered most important, and then he said it plainly: Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, he was buried, and he was raised on the third day. Notice what that is. It isn't a set of instructions. It isn't a proposition — if you will do this, God will do that. It's an announcement that something has already happened. God acted in history, he finished the story he had been telling since the garden, and the news went out that it was done. Dudley walks through 1 Corinthians 15 and asks a question worth sitting with: what happens to a community when the message it hears is something slightly smaller than that? If what we proclaim is mainly a plan for getting our sins forgiven so that we can go to heaven, we will get a people shaped by that message — careful about whether they are in, unsure what to do with the years between now and heaven, and largely unbothered by the darkness around them. The plan of salvation is true. It simply isn't the whole gospel. Salvation is the fruit; the gospel is the announcement. And the announcement is bigger. Jesus is King. Sin is actually forgiven, not deferred. The accuser has been disarmed. The old self has been crucified, and the slaves have been set free. If that is true, then being saved is not a ticket to somewhere else — it is being restored to what humanity was made for in the first place: to enjoy God, to partner with him, and to push back darkness wherever it has set up. That is what Dudley means by a gospel culture, and it produces people who are full of joy, full of purpose, and full of meaning. We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. As always, we invite you to share it with someone who needs it. Get Dudley's Weekly Word delivered right to your inbox every Friday! The Bible Isn’t a Rulebook — Here’s How to Actually Read It
2026/08/25
Most of us were handed the Bible without being handed the story. So we open it looking for rules to keep, principles to apply, or a code to crack — and it reads like a jumble. In this conversation with Samuel Downe, Dudley talks about how to read the Bible the way it was actually written. He traces one promise made in a garden — that a human would crush the head of the serpent — through Abraham, through Israel, through Moses and David, until it arrives at Jesus. The Old Testament is not a pile of disconnected lessons. It is a rising action. Jesus is the climax: the final Adam, and the only Israelite who ever kept the covenant. Read that way, every page starts pointing somewhere. Dudley also names why so much Bible study turns into striving. When we assume God blesses the good and curses the rest, Scripture becomes one more list to fail at. But the gospel is not advice about earning a blessing — it is the announcement that Jesus already earned it and freely gives it away. And you do not need a scholar to see it. You need the Scriptures in front of you, the Spirit inside of you, and the saints around you. We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. As always, we invite you to share it with someone who needs it. Get Dudley's Weekly Word delivered right to your inbox every Friday! Grace vs. Works: Why the Checklist Keeps Failing
2026/08/18
Today, Dudley and Sam explore why we're so drawn to checklists, formulas, and step-by-step plans—and why God's design for transformation is far better. They explore the concept of Grace vs Works, and Dudley shows how true Spiritual Growth doesn't come from mastering a list but from living out of your Identity in Christ. Rather than striving to earn God's approval, we're invited into a living Relationship with God, where maturity, freedom, and joy grow through trust instead of performance. Along the way, Dudley offers practical wisdom for your Faith Journey, challenging the mindset of self-effort while encouraging a deeper vision of Leadership Development rooted in grace, purpose, and discovery. We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. As always, we invite you to share it with someone who needs it.   Get Dudley's Weekly Word delivered right to your inbox every Friday! Why So Many Christian Men Feel Burned Out
2026/08/11
This week, Dudley and Sam explore one of the greatest challenges facing Christian Men today: living with peace and purpose in a world driven by busyness, pressure, and performance. In this conversation about fatherhood, work, and the demands of everyday life, they uncover why burnout often has less to do with our schedules and more to do with the way we measure success. Rather than chasing productivity or trying to please everyone, Dudley offers a refreshing vision of Christian Living rooted in our identity as sons of God. From learning to be fully present to finding joy in faithful obedience, this conversation provides practical wisdom for anyone pursuing lasting Spiritual Growth and a deeper sense of purpose. Does It Matter?
2026/08/04
This week, Dudley brings us his Monthly Message, "Does It Matter?" In this teaching, he asks a vital question: Is the Gospel of Jesus simply about Salvation, or is it the announcement that the Kingdom of God has arrived in Christ? With biblical clarity, Dudley challenges common assumptions that reduce the gospel to getting people into heaven, revealing instead the apostolic message proclaimed throughout the Book of Acts. Walking through 1 Corinthians 15 and Galatians, Dudley shows how Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament story through His life, death, and Resurrection, and how Grace invites us to stand confidently in His finished work rather than striving to earn God's favor.  We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. The Missing Mark of Biblical Manhood
2026/07/28
In this episode, Dudley and Sam explore what Biblical Manhood truly looks like through the lens of the Gospel, challenging the performance-driven mindset that leaves so many Christians exhausted and striving. Through conversation and biblical wisdom, they reveal how Peace with God produces a secure identity that frees us from fear, defensiveness, and the need to prove ourselves. They then unpack how Rest in Christ transforms the way we respond to life's challenges, make decisions, and partner with God instead of forcing our own plans. Together, they show that true Spiritual Transformation isn't achieved through greater effort but through trusting God's grace and learning to live as sons rather than servants. This conversation invites believers to embrace a deeper way of Walking with God, discovering the peace, freedom, and purpose that flow from a life rooted in Christ. We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. As always, we invite you to share it with someone who needs it.   Get Dudley's Weekly Word delivered right to your inbox every Friday! Religion Told You to Perform—Jesus Didn't
2026/07/21
In this episode, Dudley, Sam and David explore the True Gospel and why so many believers unknowingly embrace a performance-based version of Christianity instead of the Good News Jesus came to proclaim. Through honest conversation and grounded Biblical Truth, they unpack the difference between grace and self-effort, revealing how the gospel transforms our lives from the inside out. Together, they discuss the growing movement of Deconstruction, offering practical wisdom for those questioning long-held beliefs while encouraging a humble pursuit of truth through the Holy Spirit. They also redefine Repentance as more than behavior change—it's a renewed way of thinking that aligns our hearts with what God has already accomplished through Christ. This conversation invites believers to move beyond religion, fear, and striving into the freedom, joy, and Spiritual Growth that come from trusting in Jesus' finished work. Why Church Can Hurt Without Jesus Being the Problem
2026/07/14
In this episode, Dudley, Sam and David explore why so many Christians are questioning the messages they've heard in church and rediscovering the freedom of the true Gospel. Through honest conversation and grounded Bible teaching, they contrast performance-based religion with the Gospel of Grace, exposing how Manipulation, legalism, and self-effort can quietly shape our Faith. Together, they discuss the importance of biblical discernment, learning to recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit, and understanding why the finished work of Christ is the foundation of genuine spiritual growth. They also address the growing conversation around deconstruction, the lasting effects of Religious Trauma, and how experiences with a toxic church can leave people wounded without defining their relationship with Jesus. This conversation invites believers to move beyond fear, striving, and confusion into the freedom, confidence, and hope found in Christ alone. Stephen’s Gospel
2026/07/07
This week, Dudley brings us his Monthly Message, Steven’s Gospel, and in it he continues the Apostolic Gospel series by examining Stephen’s powerful message in Acts 7 and uncovering the core themes of the Gospel of Jesus. Through a sweeping overview of Scripture, he shows how the story of Israel finds its fulfillment in Christ and how the Kingdom of God arrived through Jesus’ life, death, resurrection, and ascension. Dudley traces the biblical patterns found in figures like Abraham, Joseph, and Moses, revealing how each points to Jesus as the promised Deliverer. He also explores Stephen’s bold confrontation with the religious leaders, demonstrating how the early church proclaimed the gospel with clarity, courage, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. Along the way, he challenges modern distortions such as the Prosperity Gospel and highlights why true repentance remains central to the apostolic message. Drawing from the Book of Acts and touching on themes related to the Last Days, this conversation invites believers to rediscover the gospel that transformed the first-century world—and still carries God's power to transform lives today. We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. As always, we invite you to share it with someone who needs it.   Get Dudley's Weekly Word delivered right to your inbox every Friday! The Hidden Reason Christians Feel Empty
2026/06/30
In this episode, Dudley, David, and Sam explore why so many Christians feel spiritually exhausted, frustrated, and unfulfilled despite years of striving to grow in their faith. They contrast life lived from the Tree of Knowledge with the freedom and abundance found in the Tree of Life. Together, they unpack the dangers of Transactional Christianity, challenging the belief that God's favor is earned through performance, obedience, or religious effort. Instead, they reveal how the gospel is rooted in God's Grace and how true transformation flows from what Christ has already accomplished. They also discuss the vital role of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life, showing how Walking with God is less about striving and more about responding to His invitation and leading. As believers learn to live from a deeper Relationship with God, the Fruit of the Spirit becomes a natural outflow rather than a burdensome pursuit. This conversation invites believers to move beyond religious performance and discover the joy, freedom, and life that come from abiding in Christ. We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. As always, we invite you to share it with someone who needs it.   Get Dudley's Weekly Word delivered right to your inbox every Friday! Why Church Growth Doesn't Mean Spiritual Health
2026/06/23
In this episode, Dudley, Sam, and David explore why so many Christians feel weary, frustrated, and disconnected from the abundant life Jesus promised. Through honest conversation and biblical insight, they examine the difference between genuine spiritual life and religious performance, challenging common assumptions about what makes a church healthy and growing. They point to the Book of Acts and the example of the early church, as they discuss the relationship between life and structure, revealing why true Church Growth flows from the work of the Holy Spirit rather than programs, buildings, or strategies. Along the way, they unpack the tension of Grace vs Works, exposing the exhausting cycle of "try harder" Christianity and pointing believers back to the freedom found in Christ. The conversation also highlights the beauty of the New Testament Covenant, the reality of Sonship, and what it means to live as sons and daughters in the Kingdom of God rather than servants striving for approval. We pray this message will encourage, challenge, and transform. As always, we invite you to share it with someone who needs it.   Get Dudley's Weekly Word delivered right to your inbox every Friday!
