Two billion dollars in the bank already and Spider-Man Brand New Day is already one of the biggest hits of 2026 and rightly so. Our full team are finally back to discuss all of this best moments from this years Marvel and Sony collaboration. Make sure you've watched the movie before you jump into our fully spoiler filled chat. Synopsis for our Spider-Man Brand New Day Movie ReviewDirected by Destin Daniel Cretin. Written by: Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Based on characters by - Steve Ditko and Stan Lee Four years after Dr. Strange erased Peter Parker from everyone’s memory, Peter has completely committed himself to being Spider-Man. He visits Aunt May’s grave, secretly checks in on Ned Leeds and MJ at MIT, and spends every other waking hour fighting crime across New York. When a tank goes on a rampage, Spider-Man first has to stop vigilante Frank Castle before stopping the tank. Inside, Peter finds a confused woman and something much stranger: an unseen entity that jumps from body to body inside the Department of Damage Control, eventually freeing Mac Gargan, aka The Scorpion. Yelena Bolova tells Peter this isn’t ordinary mind control. It's small potatoes but the attacks are connected to something called “V-Max.” Stranger things get even more complicated when Ned returns to New York. Peter secretly follows him to a house-warming party, where he also sees MJ — now with another boyfriend. The sight of her sends Peter spiralling, and soon his own spider DNA begins to mutate. With help from Dr. Bruce Banner, Peter manages to create a device to suppress the changes. But when Spider-Man finally tracks the entity to The Scorpion, it possesses MJ and threatens to kill her. Peter discovers the truth: the entity is actually the mutant Jean Grey, who is searching Damage Control for V-Max. Jean takes control of the Hulk, leading to a massive fight with Spider-Man and Frank Castle. They eventually separate Jean from Hulk, but something goes horribly wrong — No Banner, No girl, only Hulk! Peter manages to calm Hulk and capture Jean, but she mentions the name "Sarah" before passing out. With help from MJ and Yelena, Peter discovers that Sarah is Jean’s missing sister, who was experimented on by Damage Control and Director Metzger. And the mysterious V-Max? It was nothing more than words written on an air-conditioning unit in the room where Sarah died. When Jean learns the truth, her grief explodes into rage, and she takes control of a kilometre of New York and its citizens. Peter fights his way through mind-controlled Hand ninjas to reach her, then allows Jean inside his mind. There, through memories of Aunt May, Peter convinces Jean that she is loved and promises to help her. But before he can save her, Frank Castle takes a sniper shot at Jean. Peter uses his new abilities to get Jean out of the way — and takes the bullet himself. Jean keeps him alive long enough for the doctors at Metro-General Hospital to save him. When Peter wakes up, Frank helps him escape as New York celebrates Spider-Man as a hero. Peter returns to his anonymous life, until he runs into Ned at a local bodega. This time, Peter introduces himself. He uses their old handshake, and Ned immediately knows how to complete it. For just a moment, it seems like his oldest friend might remember him after all. When Addison reveals he can set himself on fire and threatens the PI, Donegal shoots and kills him.  Later Ben Reilly is hired to investigate nightclub singer Cat Hardy, for infidelity by a man named Carmedy claiming to be her husband. Tracking her to the Redcliff hotel, Ben uses his webbing to discreetly stop Cat's supposed lover from assaulting her. While studying the photos he took, Ben and his secretary, Janet, discover that Cat's companion is Mayor Alfred Morris. Unsure about the reasons for the case, Ben decides to drop the case. Another bombshell hits Reilly when he and Donegal learn that the man who hired them to investigate Addison, a man called Winston, is the right-hand man for crime boss Silvermane, whose mansion was burned down by Addison in an attempt to kill him.  After learning the police recovered Addison's body, Donegal wants to further shakedown Silvermane for a thousand dollars for the information on Addison. Reilly advises him against it as he heads to the Alcove nightclub to try to make some money out of his photos and blackmail Cat.  Elsewhere, knowing that Addison is dead Silvermane tortures and kills Donegal to get information on Addison for free, while Cat sends her bodyguard Flint Marko, a man able to turn his body into sand, after Ben.  Ben decides to abandon the blackmail after learning of Marko’s condition. But the next day, Cat arrives at his office and hires him to investigate the sand man’s disappearance. Derek, Chris and John return to watch Frank Castle find his purpose again in Punisher One Last Kill the Marvel Special Presentation. Sometimes, as Marvel fans with such a huge breath of excellent shows and movies, you have to watch something that has no real purpose. Despite a brilliant cast and some great action moments we couldn't find much positive to say about this one. The Punisher One Last Kill DetailsDirected by Reinaldo Marcus Green Written by Reinaldo Marcus Green with Jon Bernthal Episode Synopsis: Frank Castle, as the brutal vigilante known as the Punisher, kills members of the Gnucci Crime Family who are believed to be the last criminals involved in the deaths of his family.  The Gnucci's former territory in New York City's Little Sicily neighborhood becomes overrun with crime.  Castle lives in a Little Sicily apartment complex where he is haunted by hallucinations of people from his past. After locking up his Punisher gear, Castle goes to his family's graves to take his life but is stopped by a hallucination of his daughter Lisa. Castle walks aimlessly through the chaotic streets, haunted by an apparition of his military friend Curtis Hoyle.  He is cornered by crime lord Ma Gnucci, the matriarch of the Gnucci Crime Family, who seeks revenge for Castle's murder of her husband and three sons. Ma Gnucci reveals that she has placed a bounty on Castle's head, attracting every common criminal in the area.  Returning to his apartment, he sees a vision of his friend Karen Page, who scolds Castle for his failures but also consoles him. A small army of criminals enters the apartment complex and attacks innocent residents looking to claim the bounty on Frank Castle.  When his apartment is set on fire, Frank escapes and ruthlessly dispatches criminals, fighting his way to the rooftop before jumping off.  He has an opportunity to pursue Ma Gnucci, but instead decides to protect local shop owner Dre, his wife Debbie, and their daughter Charli.  After the fighting is over, Charli gives Frank Castle a paper rose which he puts on Lisa's grave. Castle decides that he still has work to do as the Punisher. Now fully tooled up Frank Castle once again returns to the streets with a new Punisher costume and arsenal. He stops a group of thugs from attacking innocent people and kills their leader. The Punisher One Last Kill Cast Jon Bernthal - Frank Castle/The PunisherJason R. But there will be no fear here as Derek is joined by Chris to chat about a brilliant end in Daredevil Season 2 Episode 8 The Southern Cross in full spoiler filled detail. As always make sure you've watched the episode before listening to our podcast. Daredevil Born Again 208 "The Southern Cross" DetailsExecutive Producers are Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Jonathan Schwartz, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Dario Scardapane Directed by Iain B. MacDonald Written by Dario Scardapane & Jesse Wigutow Episode Synopsis: As Karen Page's trial continues, Matt Murdock calls his first witness, Mayor Wilson Fisk. Matt presents the video testimony of the late Christofi Savva, who confirms that the Captain scuttled the ship on the orders of the Mayor because Daredevil was aboard and found the illegal weapon shipment.  District Attorney Hochburg pushes to disregard the testimony of Christofi because he isn’t in the courtroom, so Matt reveals that he is Daredevil. He corroborates the testimony and gets the case dismissed since the entire programme from the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, to the safer streets act, to the court itself was set up to divert attention from the criminal Wilson Fisk.  Outside the courtroom Bullseye foils Mayor Fisk’s backup plan by stopping the AVTF officers from assassinating Murdock. Instead Bullseye takes a shot at Fisk, but hits Buck Cashman.  The attack prompts Fisk to lock down the courthouse. With his AVTF standing guard, Daredevil's supporters surround the building, encouraged by BB Urich to rise up in memory of all their friends and neighbours lost to the AVTF and Fisk’s laws so far. As the threats from Officer Powell escalate, Cole North finally turns on him as he becomes disillusioned with his orders to kill retired detective Cherry. He lets the resistance into the courthouse as the Attorney General of New York state offers Fisk a deal to avoid charges. But, unwilling to step down, Wilson Fisk attacks and kills numerous protestors. Eventually Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Angela DelToro fight their way through the AVTF officers until they reach Fisk. Matt eventually convinces Fisk to take the deal. In the aftermath, Fisk leaves New York, the AVTF officers are arrested, Heather Glenn continues to spiral as she puts on Muse's mask and Jessica Jones reunites with Luke Cage, as Bullseye has replaced him in Mr. Charles's service. At the New York Bulletin BB Urich is hired by Mitchell Ellison and given a box of her uncle Ben’s reports to welcome her to the team. As Matt Murdock and Karen Page fantasize about living a normal life together Matt is arrested and imprisoned for his actions as Daredevil.
