Week 1 - Live Ready
2026/10/04
Are we living in the last days? With global conflict, natural disasters, and the rapid rise of AI, it’s easy to look at the world and wonder if Jesus is returning soon. According to Scripture, the "last days" actually began the moment Jesus ascended into heaven. That means every generation is called to Live Ready. In this kickoff to our new sermon series through 1 Thessalonians, we look at an early church that faced these exact same questions. Discover the three distinct actions the Apostle Paul praises in these believers—and how they provide a practical roadmap for us to navigate today's culture with power, faith, and purpose. The return of Jesus shouldn't scare us; it should prepare us. The real question isn’t when He is coming, but if He came today, would you be ready?
Week 4 - I've Got Daddy Issues
2026/09/27
What if some of the wounds from your earthly father have shaped the way you see yourself, others, and even God? In the final week of I’ve Got Issues, Pastor Jason talks honestly about “Daddy Issues”—the wounds we can carry from our relationship with our father and how those wounds can impact our lives. But your past doesn’t have to define your future. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can find healing by admitting our wounds, choosing forgiveness, and learning to let God father us. You may have grown up without the father you needed, but you don’t have to spend the rest of your life fatherless. Your earthly father may have shaped your childhood, but your heavenly Father can shape your future.
Week 3 - I've Got Insecurity Issues
2026/09/20
We all have moments when we doubt ourselves, compare ourselves to others, or wonder if we’re really enough. In Week 3 of I’ve Got Issues, we look at the story of David and Goliath and discover how God can use us—even in the places where we feel most insecure. David understood his identity, remembered God’s faithfulness, and embraced who God created him to be. His story reminds us that we don’t have to wear someone else’s armor to face the giants in front of us. You don’t have to be somebody else to be used by God. You just have to be who He created you to be.
Week 2 - I've Got Trust Issues
2026/09/13
Trust is easy—until you’ve been hurt. When people let us down, we can start carrying those experiences into our relationship with God. We try to stay in control because we’re afraid of being disappointed again. But God is trustworthy, even when we don’t understand what He’s doing. This message is about learning to trust God when life doesn’t make sense, fear takes over, and we don’t know what comes next. You don’t have to understand the route to follow His directions.
Week 1 - I've Got Envy Issues
2026/09/06
We’ve all got issues. In Week 1 of our new series “I’ve Got Issues,” Pastor Jason takes a look at one of the most common—and often overlooked—struggles we face: envy. Why is it so easy to compare our lives to someone else’s? Why can someone else’s success, relationships, possessions, or opportunities leave us feeling like we’re falling behind? And what happens when comparison turns into something that begins to control our hearts? In this message, we’ll uncover what the Bible says about envy, why it’s so destructive, and how we can break free from comparison and learn to be grateful for what God has given us. You’ve got issues. We all do. The good news is, God meets us right in the middle of them. 📖 Watch Week 1: ENVY 🙏 If this message speaks to you, share it with someone who needs to hear it. #IveGotIssues #Envy #CityLightChurch #ChristianSermon #PastorJason #Comparison #Faith #Jesus
Week 11 - What The Gospel Gives Us
2026/08/30
What if the gospel gives us more than just forgiveness and eternal life? As we wrap up our When In Romans series, we look at Romans 16 and discover that the gospel doesn’t just save us from something—it gives us something. It gives us a family, something worth protecting, and a victory to stand in. Paul’s final words to the church in Rome remind us that every person has a place in God’s family, that the unity of the church matters, and that through Jesus, we can stand confidently in the victory He has already won. The gospel is bigger than we sometimes realize. “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” — Romans 16:20 Watch this message and be reminded of what the gospel has given you—and what God wants to do through you.
Week 10 - The God Who Is With You
2026/08/23
What do you do when life gets difficult, the future is uncertain, and you don't know how things are going to turn out? Romans 15 reminds us that we may not know what we're going to face—but we know who is with us. In this message, Pastor Jason looks at Paul's powerful descriptions of God as the God of endurance and encouragement, the God of hope, and the God of peace. Whatever season you're walking through, you don't have to face it alone. The God who is with you is enough for whatever you're facing.
Week 9 - Love Has Everything To Do With It
2026/08/16
What does it really look like to love like Jesus—even when people hurt us, oppose us, or treat us badly? In Romans 12, Paul gives us a radically different picture of love: one that refuses revenge, pursues peace, and chooses to overcome evil with good. Join us for Week 9 of When in Romans as we discover what it means to love differently. 📖 Romans 12:9–21 “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” — Romans 12:21
Week 8 - How Should We Respond to the Mercy of God?
2026/08/09
What should our response be when we truly understand the mercy of God? In Romans 12:1–2, Paul challenges us to look at everything God has done for us and ask a different question: “God, because of Your mercy, what can I do for You?” God’s mercy changes everything—how we see God, how we see ourselves, and how we live. Join us for Week 8 of When in Romans as we discover what it really looks like to respond to the incredible mercy of God.
Week 7 - When It Seems Too Good To Be True
2026/08/02
Have you ever received an email promising you a million dollars, or watched a home makeover show where a contractor offers a completely free renovation? Our first instinct is always the same: It’s too good to be true. In this powerful message, we dive into the end of Romans chapter 8 to look at one of the most famous—and hardest to believe—verses in the entire Bible: Romans 8:28. The Apostle Paul makes a bold declaration: "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." Can God really take the best and worst moments of our lives and weave them together for something good? Whether you are celebrating an answered prayer or walking through a season of painful uncertainty, this message will shift your perspective on God's sovereignty, His timing, and His unshakeable love for you. this message encouraged you, please Like, Subscribe, and share it with someone who needs to hear it today!
Week 6 - Live By The Spirit
2026/07/26
In Week 6 of our When in Romans series, we dive into one of the most relatable passages in all of Scripture—Romans 7–8. The Apostle Paul describes the battle every believer understands: "The good I want to do, I don't do... and the evil I don't want to do, I keep doing." The good news? The Christian life was never meant to be lived in your own strength. In this message, you'll discover: ✅ Why there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. ✅ What the Bible really means by "the flesh." ✅ How the Holy Spirit empowers believers to overcome sin. ✅ Three practical ways to live by the Spirit every day. ✅ How remembering your identity as God's child changes everything. If you've ever felt stuck in sin, discouraged by your failures, or wondered why the Christian life feels like such a struggle, this message is for you.
Week 5 - Freedom From Sin
2026/07/19
What if the key to overcoming sin isn't trying harder—but realizing who you already are in Christ? In Week 5 of our When in Romans series, we dive into Romans 6 and discover the incredible freedom Jesus has won for every believer. If you've ever wondered why you still struggle with temptation, this message will remind you that your identity has changed. You are no longer a slave to sin—you are alive in Christ. In this message you'll discover: Why God's grace is never a license to sin Why temptation is still a battle for every believer What it means to be dead to sin and alive in Christ Three biblical keys to lasting freedom: Know It. Count It. Surrender It. How Jesus continues to stand as your Advocate, even when you fail No matter how many times you've stumbled, God hasn't given up on you. Freedom isn't found in self-improvement—it's found in surrendering your life to Jesus.
Week 4 - Steps to Hope
2026/07/12
What if your greatest struggle is the very thing God is using to build unshakable hope? In Week 4 of our When in Romans series, we unpack Romans 5:1-5 and discover that biblical hope isn't wishful thinking—it's the confident assurance that God is faithful. In this message, you'll learn: • What it means to be justified by faith • How suffering produces endurance, character, and hope • Why your trials have purpose • How to find lasting peace and hope in Christ
Week 2 - Now, The Bad News
2026/06/28
Before we can truly appreciate the Good News of the Gospel, we have to understand the bad news. In Romans 1, the Apostle Paul confronts one of the most challenging truths in all of Scripture: humanity's rejection of God, the reality of God's wrath, and the devastating consequences of sin. While our culture often wants to redefine truth, Romans calls us back to what God has revealed. In this message, we'll explore: • What the Bible really means by the wrath of God • Why people suppress the truth about God • How rejecting God leads to spiritual darkness • What Paul means by "God gave them over" • The dangers of idolatry, moral inversion, and a debased mind • Why understanding our sin makes the Gospel the greatest news ever No matter how broken our past may be, Romans doesn't end with condemnation—it points us to Jesus Christ, who died for sinners and offers forgiveness, grace, and eternal life to everyone who believes.
Week 1 - First, The Good News
2026/06/21
What is the Gospel? Is it simply good advice, or is it something far greater? In Week 1 of our brand-new Romans series, Pastor Jason explores one of the most important words in the entire Bible: Gospel. Romans is often considered the Apostle Paul's greatest theological work, and it begins with a powerful reminder that the Gospel isn't about what we can do for God—it's about what God has already done for us through Jesus Christ. In this message you'll discover: ✅ Why the Gospel is the best news you'll ever hear ✅ How God's plan of salvation was established before the foundation of the world ✅ Why Jesus is at the center of the Gospel message ✅ How faith produces obedience—not legalism ✅ Why the Gospel is for everyone ✅ How the Gospel is the power of God for salvation ✅ The incredible truth of Christ's righteousness being credited to believers Romans reminds us that no one is righteous on their own, but through faith in Jesus Christ we can be forgiven, redeemed, and made right with God.
