A Ministry of Gratitude
2026/11/02
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What is the nature of our ministry? You might ask, "John...what do you mean by that?" Well, every day we have a choice. We can either walk in joy, peace, and thankfulness or spiral into frustration and discouragement. And let's face it: life is busy. And in the busy-ness we can easily lose sight of what's important. And perhaps the highest calling that we've been given is to share the Gospel with others-and to do it with gratitude to God. We should model ourselves after Paul, who labored for the Lord with a thankful heart. Because true gratitude causes action. And to be thankful, we can't just sit around. We have to give back or pass it on! And when we share the Gospel with others out of gratitude to God, others will see that thankfulness radiate from our hearts. So let me encourage you today, look for ways to share the Good News of the Gospel with others! For more tips and resources to help you in sharing your faith, visit ShareLife.Today.
Halloween and the Gospel
2026/10/30
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Do your Halloween plans this evening involve the Gospel? As believers, we should try to do everything that we can to point people to the Gospel. Last year, my church held a big event on Halloween with more candy than you could count! It was open to the community so there was a huge crowd. The focus, however, was not on candy, though every child left with more than they could eat. The focus was the Gospel. Every child and parent heard a clear Gospel presentation and an invitation to accept Christ as Lord and Savior...all before they got to the candy and to the carnival attractions! And while your event may be different, the message can be the same. Be thinking about how you can share the hope you have tonight. Perhaps it starts with candy and leads to a Gospel conversation or perhaps an opportunity to share your testimony. Whatever it is, let your light shine! For more, visit ShareLife.Today.
Prayer is God's Plan
2026/10/29
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. You know, we often say at Evangelism Explosion that witnessing without prayer is presumption. Before we ever start looking for opportunities to share the Gospel, we should be coming before God, asking for His guidance and wisdom. Jesus Himself told us in John fifteen, "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." Elisabeth Elliot said, "Prayer lays hold of God's plan and becomes the link between his will and its accomplishment on earth." And you know what the Bible says is part of God's will for our lives? It's that we would be bold witnesses and share with others what Christ has done for them. So let me challenge you: start praying for your friends and family that you'll see over the holidays and watch God orchestrate ways you can start spiritual conversations and then share the Gospel with them. For more tips and resources on how you can share your faith, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.
That Time of the Year
2026/10/28
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. It's that time of the year again! Many events are happening this week in communities across the country. Whether it's a trunk-or-treat, a Fall Festival, a pumpkin patch, or trick-or-treating, I want to encourage you - look for opportunities to share the love of Christ. The Gospel is always needed, no matter the time of year, holiday, or circumstance. We need to be intentional as Christians and share what Jesus has done with those around us. If you're attending a party, seek out meaningful conversations that could lead to sharing how Christ has changed your life and given you eternal security. If you're giving out candy, consider handing out some Gospel tracts, too. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give you opportunities to share; and when they come, talk about the hope you've found in Christ. Our world desperately needs it. Not sure where to start? Well, we'd love to help! For more Gospel tips and resources to help you share during this season, visit ShareLife.Today.
Light the Night
2026/10/27
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Are you afraid of the dark? Well, during this time of year, there is a lot of emphasis on the spooky and dark side of things. But don't be scared of it! Instead, shine the light of Jesus on the darkness in our world. Now, how do you spread some light? First, we need to know God's Word. Psalm 119 and verse 1-5 says: "Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path..." So don't dwell on the darkness! Walk with your path illuminated by God's Word and take every chance you can to spread His Word to others, especially in times like we're in right now. Here's a tip: this Halloween, light up someone's night by sharing a Bible verse that God has laid on your heart. Ask them engaging spiritual questions that could lead to a Gospel conversation. If you need help getting started learning how you can be ready to share your faith, visit our website at ShareLife.Today. That's ShareLife.Today.
To The Gospel Advantage
2026/10/26
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Candy, ghosts, goblins and... the Gospel? How are these things related? Well, they're not, BUT we are coming up on Halloween, and that means we are surrounded by all things black and orange and full of sugar. How should Christians choose to respond to this holiday? It's really a controversial topic and while you should always listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and pay attention to the convictions He places on your heart, every believer ought to be able to agree that we are here to bring the light of Jesus into the darkness. One of the ways you can do that this week is by taking advantage of the holiday. Take advantage of the fact that friends are getting together or your neighbors are out and about more. Use the opportunities you are given this week to bring up the hope you have found in Jesus! If you need help learning how to do that, visit ShareLife.Today. That's ShareLife.Today.
Step It Up
2026/10/23
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Step it up. Come on, get moving. We've heard or maybe even said that phrase in order to spur on a child or a teammate. Better hurry up and do what you need to do. We've heard it, but are we doing it? Are you stepping up and sharing your faith and discipling other believers? If you're not, you better get moving. Don't do it because I'm telling you to, do it because Jesus has commissioned you to do it! The Great Commission commands us to go out and make disciples of every nation, baptizing them in Jesus' Name. How do we step up? First, we need to step out. Step out of your comfort zone and connect with younger or less mature believers who need help growing in their faith. We can't continue to reach the world for Jesus, without training His church to do it! If you need to take a step of faith to learn to witness, we have tips and resources for you at ShareLife.Today. That's ShareLife.Today.
Share Your God Story
2026/10/22
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Often times, we convince ourselves that no one wants to hear what we have to say even before we say it. But guess what? The Holy Spirit is at work in hearts and lives of the people around us - preparing them to hear the Good News of the Gospel. And we have the privilege to share it. A good way to see if someone is open to hearing more about spiritual things is by sharing the God stories happening right now in your life. You might be thinking right now, "Well, what is a God story?" It is simply telling others the things God is doing in your own life. It could be something like: before you had a relationship with Jesus, you struggled with loneliness. But now that you're His child, you feel loved and part of the big family of God. Or it could be how God provided in a very difficult situation. Whatever it is, you can use these stories to share the Gospel with others. Holy Spirit Nudge
2026/10/21
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever felt a nudge from the Holy Spirit to witness to someone? In Acts chapter 8, the Lord tells Philip to go and talk to someone. Philip went where he was told and found a man reading Scripture. He asked the man if he understood it, and he didn't. Do you think that Phillip was nervous at this point? Sure he was! But he stepped out in faith and made himself available to the man. Turns out, his simple question, 'do you understand?' was just the right thing to say to start a Gospel conversation. Phillip's obedience gave this man an opportunity to accept Jesus, and he did! In fact, he immediately asked to be baptized - he wanted to proclaim his new faith! So, the next time you feel a need to go speak to someone, but aren't sure what to say, remember Phillip. Remember that God will not lead you to someone and leave you hanging. He will provide the words to speak if you will be obedient. Visit ShareLife.Today.
Ask God
2026/10/20
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever asked a friend a question over the phone, but they didn't hear you? You repeat yourself over and over; but the reception is so bad that all you receive is a loud, "What??" Sometimes, I think this is how we view God answering our prayers. But the truth is, He not only hears us perfectly, but He answers us without fail. It could be that the reason we aren't receiving an answer is because we're simply not asking. If you ask God to bring us opportunities to tell others the Gospel, guess what? He loves to answer. The Bible says in 1 John 4:15 that "if we ask anything according to His will He hears us." And it is God's desire that every person hear the Good News of what Jesus did on the cross for us. So let's take a step of faith this week and ask God to bring someone to our attention to share the Gospel with. For more resources on how you can, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.
Jump On In
2026/10/19
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Jump on in! The water's fine! Have you heard that phrase before? Maybe as a child on the edge of a diving board. It was probably pretty exhilarating when you finally jumped in! You know, it's the same way when you take a step of faith. When you took your first step of faith by asking Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, there was rejoicing in Heaven! And just like that, when you step out in faith to share the Gospel, your Father in Heaven is thrilled. Isaiah 41:10 says this: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. If God in Heaven is on your side, and He is, then He will help you as you take a step of faith to witness to others. So, don't be afraid! If you need help sharing your faith, visit ShareLife.Today. That's ShareLife.Today.
Thy Kingdom Come
2026/10/16
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. "Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven." Have you heard this prayer before? Well, some would say this is perhaps the most famous prayer ever prayed. Jesus said these words when He was teaching His disciples and the people of Israel how to pray during the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus says something surprising during this prayer..."Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done." Well, that makes us ask, what is God's will? What would His kingdom look like here on earth? In the Bible, He actually tells us. It would be every nation, tongue, and people group standing before God and praising Him! And Jesus gave us a job to make it happen. "Go and make disciples of all the nations." So how do we do that? Well first, we must pray, and then we must actually share with those around us the Good News of the Gospel! Not sure where to start? Visit ShareLife.Today.
Yes, No, Wait
2026/10/15
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. "Yes!...No...Wait." These are the three answers we hear from God when we ask Him for things in prayer. And God loves to answer us. Like a good father here on earth listens and responds to his children, so does our Father in Heaven. He delights in giving us good things that will benefit and grow us! Have you ever heard the phrase, "you have not because you ask not?" The same is true when it comes to prayer. Many believers feel that if God already know their needs, why must they ask for them? Don't forget-when Jesus taught us to pray in the famous Lord's Prayer, He did not hold back on one of the most basic needs of life..."Give us this day our daily bread..." Even asking for family members or friends to believe in Him is a deep need of our hearts. So ask the Lord today to give you opportunities to share, and He will answer. And bring him your needs! Join In Prayer
2026/10/13
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In the book of Ephesians, we read, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people." So let us not neglect praying for our brothers and sisters all around the world. They're fighting for their faith on their knees; and often, both their lives and livelihoods are in jeopardy simply for following Christ. So how can we join them in prayer? Well firstly, we should pray for their safety as they worship and share the Gospel in cultures that discriminate against them for their faith. Secondly, we should pray for resources, as many of our brothers and sisters face poverty, hunger, and disease. And thirdly, we should pray for perseverance-that even despite what they face that they continue to grow in their walks with Christ and share it with others who need the same hope. Want specific requests you can pray for? Visit our website and sign up as a prayer partner at ShareLife.Today.
Preparing With Prayer
2026/10/12
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. We often say, at EE, that witnessing without prayer is presumption. The truth is, we cannot effectively share Jesus with others unless we begin with prayer. Prayer invites the Holy Spirit to go with us and to lead the conversation. He's the One who gives us the words to say. He's the One who speaks to and ultimately changes hearts. Without Him, we go alone. So as we talk about preparing to share the Gospel this week, I want you to know that preparation begins with prayer. The Bible says in first John that "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us." Is it God's will for people to hear the Good News of the Gospel? Well, you bet! So let's begin to pray and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and opportunities to share. And let's get prepared!
