They hosts then dive into the episode, discussing the benefit the pilot has of jumping right in with a story that everyone knows, how Michael Flanagan approached putting Carrie in the modern world of social media and school shooting drills, and how the pacing works so well for the episode. The Legendary Ladies are officially back from the summer hiatus - and are heading to Sterling Point (in Muskoka, which is just so fun to say). Amy, Kat, and Morgan are thrilled to talk about one of the hottest shows out there, settling in for this pilotpod that just hits right. They chat about how the pacing seemed to play well into the episode, why Gen Z felt honestly represented, and the realism of that snappy dialogue that took the hosts back to the language of Gilmore Girls and The West Wing. They also talk about the lack of a "viral" factor - how come, a month after Part I, the Loathing choreography was still making the rounds around the internet, but 3 weeks after Part II, the world seems to all but moved on from Wicked. Finally, the hosts give their honest opinions about the film, the performances, and the phenomenon in general.

The hosts chat about how the series feels like a genuine translation of a book to screen, the tasteful artistry of the sexual depictions, and discuss the queer aspects of the show that can invite audiences of all types to consume the series.

The Legendary Ladies are going to New Jersey! Well, 1996 New Jersey. As requested by one of our fans, we are doing a PilotPod for Yellowjackets, which has the added fun of existing in the [sort of] home town of Morgan's husband. As anyone who listens to the podcast (or knows Amy at all) could guess, she was so excited to watch Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein; it is not, however, Kat's cup of tea (again, as you all should know). But that doesn't really matter, because as it turns out, Amy can talk about the film for literally 45 minutes almost entirely on her own. It's a fascinating look into the brain of two storytellers, one who loves gothic horror, and the other who may not love, but deeply respects it. The Legendary Ladies are back with one of their best Spooky Season's yet! For Morgan's pick, the hosts watched Sinners (some when it came out earlier this year, and some the night before they recorded). The ladies discuss what made Sinners such a successful film, what it means to have the name of Ryan Coogler on your project, the power of music in filmmaking, and whether or not Sinners needs a sequel (which, if it happens, should absolutely be named Saints).
