Description

Become the pilot you've always wanted to be. AviatorCast bridges the gap between actual flight training and flight simulation to give prospective aviators, current pilots, and even the seasoned flyer new perspectives in aviation. Through studying Human Factors we learn to combat the worst enemy to our flying success; ourselves. How can we become better aviators by interacting with our airplanes more effectively? How can we overcome the shortcomings of our human condition to make better decisions on the flight deck? We believe in learning to a confidence level, not learning to a level required by law. When you get a license, you should be ready to go out and fly in those conditions, with those aircraft, and do so with refined skills. Flight simulators these days are very advanced, and we will discuss how you can sure up your flight training with a home based simulator, giving you limitless hours and practice in IFR with scenario based training. Learn how to fly, become better at your flying craft, mold into a safer pilot, or perfect your professional skills. AviatorCast is an engaging and entertaining podcast that is sure to deliver on the topics you care about.

It’s NOT Worth It — AviatorCast 159
2021/09/17
They say "build your time" and "pay your dues". But in aviation, is it worth giving EVERYTHING up for that ultimate dream? Or are there limits to the insanity we should put ourselves through? In this podcast we will discuss: The typical path followed in an aviation career The Good part of growing in a career The bad or dark side of building time, hours, and experience Is everything really everything, and nothing else matters? What a successful and meaningful aviation career SHOULD look like This is wisdom that I feel a lot of aviators should know before getting into a difficult job or an untenable situation. 10 Aviation Commandments — AviatorCast 158
2021/09/03
For some, aviation is a religion. Not sure that's good or bad, but it is what it is. There is something spiritual about flying, so it makes sense. I came up with 10 Aviation Commandments, most of them fairly 'serious' and spot on. They're mostly safety-related, but many are related to growing and improving as an aviator. Without spoiling too much, they are... THOU SHALT BE SAFE THOU SHALT AVIATE, NAVIGATE, COMMUNICATE — IN ORDER THOU SHALT FIGHT HAZARDOUS ATTITUDES THOU SHALT STRIVE FOR PROFESSIONALISM THOU SHALT PAY IT FORWARD THOU SHALT BE A FOREVER STUDENT THOU SHALT HAVE FUN ALONG THE WAY THOU SHALT CHOOSE A GOOD SCHOOL & INSTRUCTOR THOU SHALT NOT GET DISCOURAGED THOU SHALT MAKE A PILGRIMAGE TO AIRVENTURE Come join for this podcast and enjoy some good insight.
