Is It A Cultural Difference Or Are They Just Being Fatphobic?
2024/02/22
On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren have a detailed discussion about the ways different cultures talk about body size and the miscommunications that can happen as a result. Is calling someone “gordita” or “piggie” cute, rude or just a cultural difference? Emily references an anecdote from “90 Day Fiance” and Lauren recalls some comical misunderstandings from when she studied abroad in Spain. Then, the two respond to a Dear DST from an American listener who is working abroad in London and having some struggles around a coworker making comments about her body. Is this another cultural difference or is her coworker just being generally offensive? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

It’s About The Business, Not Our Bodies
2024/02/19
On today’s episode of Back For Seconds, Sami and Aleen rehash their latest Betches photoshoot, which involved working with a stylist/dresser. Sami shares that while girls' trips and weddings won't necessarily trigger her body issues, it’s still very difficult to grapple with the fact that there are less clothing options in the mid-size range. Aleen shares how she was proud of herself for being able to confidently state her needs and boundaries with the stylist and photographer without feeling guilty, and then shares some personal growth moments around how she has shifted her intentions around weight loss. Overall, the two came to the conclusion that the photoshoot was ultimately about their business and not their bodies; a big win indeed.

Nutritionist Nightmare Tales Ft. Lauren Hope Krass
2024/02/04

Why are the comments mostly nice when it comes to plus size clothing but deeply confusing on videos about fat acceptance? Then, Lauren shares all about the last diet she ever did which involves some hilariously bad pieces of advice her “nutrition therapist” at the time gave to her. To close, they chat about the bizarre ways stress can physically manifest. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
