How Should Believers Handle Suffering? (Podcast 491)
2024/02/02
I wanted to take some time to talk about suffering because I know many of us are currently experiencing trials and tribulations that could easily undermine our faith and cause us to doubt the sovereignty and goodness of God. Suffering is hard. It can be exhausting and discouraging.  As believers must have a theology of suffering. In other words, we must know how to respond to suffering with faith. To know this, we have to be taught from the scriptures. Letting our faith impact our suffering changes everything and brings hope in the midst of what could otherwise destroy us. Today, Wes is back to talk about how believers should handle suffering. Resources mentioned in today's episode: CTC Math Heritage Defense Our CPS Story The Excel Camp  The Unhurried Homeschooler Unhurried Grace for a Mom’s Heart The Four-Hour School Day Subscribe to my monthly email and receive access to Unhurried Grace for a Mom's Heart: 31 Days in God's Word Information on my new book,  Raising Boys to Men!   Scripture passages about God's own suffering: Jer. 2:5-8 Isaiah 43:4-6 Ps. 56:8 Passages about God's purpose for us in suffering:  James 1:2-4 2 Corin. 12:6-7 2 Corin. 12: 8-9 1 Peter 1:6-7 2 Corin. 4:17 Hebrews 12:7-13   Other episodes with Wes: Applying Romans 13 to the Here and Now The Importance of a Biblical Education The Biblical Importance of Family Recognizing False Teachers The Dangers of a Self-Help Culture How to Find a Biblical Church Let's Talk About Biblical Discipline Biblical Submission: The Hot Potato Are We Living in the Last Days?
