Are you a busy physician who wants to lose weight permanently so you can have the life you want? This podcast is the resource you’ve been looking for. I’ll guide you on the journey to overcome stress eating, exhaustion, and overwhelm - and move into freedom around food. Each week, this podcast brings you specific tools and resources to meet the challenges busy doctors face. Your time is valuable - and so is your wellbeing. We’ll help you find the time to care for yourself as well as you care for your patients. -Learn new ways of thinking that make good eating decisions automatic and result in permanent, effortless weight loss. -Find out how to gain the time and energy to take care of yourself the way you tell your patients to! -We’ll show you how to stop overeating and using food to deal with stress and exhaustion. -You’ll learn to improve your relationships and to better deal with the difficult people in your life so you don’t need food to cope. -This can be the best stage of your life yet - just like you thought it would be when you started your training. -And most importantly, feel better in all aspects of your life without anything or anyone else having to change. Your host, Dr. Katrina Ubell, is a board-certified pediatrician and a certified life and weight loss coach. After completing her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Dr. Ubell worked in a private pediatric practice for 10 years before retiring from her practice to become a life and weight loss coach for busy physicians. Dr. Ubell lost 45 pounds in 12 months without any surgery, pills, or unhealthy crash diets. You can find out more about Dr. Ubell and her work at www.katrinaubellmd.com.

The struggle is real: for anyone trying to lose weight, navigating parties and eating FOMO can be a serious challenge. Ep #283: Why the Last 5 Pounds are the Hardest
Why does it always feel like the last 5 pounds are the hardest to lose? Is it because the body is resisting the weight loss, or is it because we believe that those last few pounds are the hardest to lose? In this episode, I’m exploring where the belief that the last 5 pounds are the hardest to lose comes from and discussing how our thoughts play into our ability to lose the last bit of weight.  You can find show notes and more by clicking here: http://www.katrinaubellmd.com/283
Ep #282: Sleep as a Mindset Issue
What if I told you that if you struggle with sleep, your mindset might be to blame? There is a lot of talk about sleep and how to improve it, but not a lot of talk about the mindset that goes into getting good quality sleep. In this episode, I’m sharing some of the new takeaways I’ve personally had that are making a difference for my sleep, in the hopes that they can also make a difference for you. Expectations are a natural part of being human, but how can you salvage a situation where your expectations were not met? Ep #280: Are You Focusing on the Wrong Things?
Throughout my years coaching people who are trying to lose weight, I've noticed how often they start out focusing on the wrong things. Ep #279: Defining Weight Loss Maintenance
How do you define weight loss maintenance? Is it a number range or a state of mind that dictates your weight loss success? These are all great questions that I get asked frequently, and in this episode, I’m sharing my thoughts on what constitutes weight loss maintenance. Ep #276: Reparenting Yourself
There is a really useful and healing process that is especially helpful for people who over-eat or over-drink: reparenting yourself. In this episode, I’m sharing some information about this process and examples of how it can be helpful for weight loss. Listen in to find out what it means to reparent yourself, how it differs from the psychotherapy form of reparenting, and how you can reparent yourself solo or with the help of a coach or therapist.  You can find show notes and more by clicking here: http://www.katrinaubellmd.com/276
Ep #275: Vicarious Trauma
Do you sometimes feel emotionally numb, have trouble falling asleep, or have a decreased interest in activities that you used to find enjoyable? These are just some of the signs that you might be experiencing vicarious trauma, which is an unfortunate but common reality for most doctors. In this episode, I’m talking all about vicarious trauma through the lens of healthcare workers - what it is, how to know whether you have experienced it, and what you can do to get back to neutral. Ep #274: Losing Weight Doesn’t Have To Be Miserable
What if it were possible to lose weight in a way that didn’t make you feel miserable?
