Law School Medians Just Went Up Again (2026)

Download your free LSAT cheat sheet here: https://unpluggedprep.com/cheatsheet I scored a 152 my first LSAT. Got to a 175. I've been teaching this test since 2005. If you're prelaw, applying now, or stuck, you're in the right place. 🎯 Free LSAT tutoring lesson: https://unpluggedprep.com/start 📚 LSAT Unplugged courses and coaching: https://lsatunplugged.com Law schools just released their numbers for the class that started this fall, and LSAT medians went up again. Of the first 107 schools to post, 84 raised their median and only 3 lowered it. I pulled 10 years of ABA 509 reports to show how far it's gone: at Villanova, this year's bottom quarter scored 5 points above the 2015 median. My answer is to fight fire with fire. I walk through what 3 LSAT points do to a real school list, how much your school's median changes your odds at the top jobs (69% vs 17%), and the roughly $75,000 scholarship gap inside a single school.

If your score stings, this video walks you through the one question that tells you whether to retake in November (6 weeks away) or January (15 weeks away). I cover how law schools treat multiple scores, what the average retaker gains, the Score Preview timing problem, and what it costs to switch dates after tomorrow.

LSAC's own numbers say more than 150 score audits last testing year found zero scoring errors. The bigger problem is the clock: November registration closes Thursday, October 1st, the day after scores, and November is the last LSAT of 2026. I go through what to do before Thursday night: the writing-sample hold that can delay your score, audit vs complaint vs Score Preview, a 10-minute keep-or-retake rule, what a second score and a cancel actually cost, and the 509 number that tells you whether a retake is worth your fall.

Trump vs. the ABA: What Changes for Law School in 2026
2026/09/18
On September 23, a federal panel votes on the ABA's power over law schools. This week, the University of Austin and the Federalist Society announced a law program that will never seek ABA accreditation. The panel weighs the Education Department staff's recommendation to stop recognizing the ABA as a law school accreditor. Texas and Florida already cut the ABA out of their bar rules this year. Here's what actually changes for you, which law schools are exposed, what California's decades of non-ABA law schools show about bar passage, and the LSAT rule Texas kept when it dropped the ABA. Trump's DOJ Just Made Law School Admissions A Federal Case
2026/09/18
On August 6th, 2026, the Justice Department told Duke Law that the median LSAT of the white and Asian applicants it rejected was higher than the median of the Black applicants it admitted. 34 days later it sent Berkeley Law a letter like it. In between, it opened a review of William and Mary's law school scholarships. I read the letters, the internal Duke emails they quote, and each school's answer, which I give you in full. Whoever wins, these letters change what admissions committees lean on this cycle, in a year with more high scorers applying than last year's. The Duke letter also contains a number law schools never publish, the median LSAT of applicants they rejected. Put it next to Duke's own 509 and it changes what "in range" means for your schools. September 2026 LSAT Recap
2026/09/15
September 2026 LSAT scores come out September 30th, and November registration closes October 1st. We went through about 1,000+ reports from test takers and checked what we could against LSAC. Plus, the Iran sanctions account locks, noise and interface problems at Prometric centers, the intermission rule that got one test canceled, and why double Reading Comp took over the week. Then the part that decides your cycle: the Score Preview deadline, what can hold up your score, what a cancel actually costs, and a simple keep-or-retake rule to set before your score posts. October 2026 LSAT Predictions (The Crystal Ball Is Broken)
2026/09/15
If you came looking for an October 2026 LSAT crystal ball, here's the problem. LSAC has spent 2026 making the test harder to predict. Reading Comp sections can now skip the comparative passage entirely, and almost everyone tests in person at Prometric after LSAC's fight with cheating. In this video I walk through the October LSAT predictions you can actually count on: the dates LSAC already put in writing and the new test interface, plus the one thing I'd bet happens to almost everyone on test day and how to train for it.
