It’s been a quieter year for Disney’s U.S. parks beyond the arrival of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. We’ve seen a lot more action overseas with the opening of the massive Fantasy Springs addition at Tokyo DisneySea. It’s rare to see a new theme park open in the United States, especially one not connected to Universal or Disney. A cool exception is Lost Island Themepark, which opened in June 2022 in Waterloo, Iowa.
