For the first time since 2008, the series that put the vania in Metroidvania has returned! That return, spoiler alert, is incredible. The guys return from a couple weeks away to give their full thoughts on Rose Belmont's quest to live up to her namesake, and drive back the undead forces of Dracula! Other topics include EA's shutting down of beloved studio Bioware, Sean and Kevin's trips over the past two weeks, Kevin continuing to suck in Fantasy Football, and lots more!Start - 00:00 Kevin Went to NYC & Chicago - 1:55 Kevin Visited Galloping Ghost! - 6:40 Sean Went to Disney World - 11:05 Fantasy Football Update - 19:50 Revisiting Link's Awakening - 21:35 Revisiting The Minish Cap - 25:40 Sean's Ball X Pit Platinum - 26:35 Sean Started Chained Echoes - 29:15 Belmont's Curse is Awesome - 31:05 EA Shuts Down Bioware - 1:07:05 News Wrap-Up - 1:12:40

In what can only be described as shocking, and incredibly upsetting news (ESPECIALLY to Kevin), PlayStation made the decision to pull funding from Kojima's upcoming Action Espionage game PHYSINT. All was not lost, though, as XBOX decided to swoop in and save the day. Is this the straw that finally breaks Kevin's camel's back?!? Xbox then followed that up with some less than stellar news as they continue down their "Reset" path by shuffling, and shutting down, some of their first party studios. Other topics include further details about the upcoming Terranigma re-release, new info on GTA 6, Kevin AGAIN trying Witcher 3, Sean falling for BALL x PIT, and lots more.Start - 00:00NYC/Travel/Playoff Games/WWE Memories - 3:40NFL/Fantasy Football Update - 13:40PlayStation Drops PHYSINT & Xbox Saves It - 25:20Terranigma Re-Release Details - 38:05 Sean Loves BALL x PIT - 42:20 Witcher 3 Remastered Impressions - 51:50GTA 6 Game Informer New Info - 57:00 Xbox's Reset Part 2 - 1:10:40 Is Game Pass Dropping Day 1 Games? - 1:14:45 News Wrap-Up - 1:17:30

The Ocarina of Time Remake has finally been revealed for Nintendo Switch 2, and Sean’s favorite game of all-time looks like it’s getting the remake he’s always wanted. Nintendo’s Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct may as well have been called the Ocarina of Time Direct — and the guys are perfectly fine with that. They break down everything shown from the Ocarina of Time Remake, including its graphical style, gameplay changes, expanded dialogue, voice acting, and just how closely Nintendo appears to be sticking to the original N64 classic. Plus, the guys share their impressions of the Final Fantasy Resonance demo, Kevin has finished Darksiders II, Sean has already jumped into Darksiders III, and they wrap up the rest of the week’s gaming news.Start - 00:00Why Are Toilet Seat Openings So Big? - 3:35Fantasy Football Draft Results - 7:45Beating Darksiders II - 17:25Sean Jumped to Darksiders III - 23:20Final Fantasy Resonance Demo is REALLY Good - 32:35Ocarina of Time Remake / Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct - 46:40News Wrap-Up - 1:20:20

Rockstar FINALLY pulled the curtain back on what is potentially the most anticipated video game release of all time. GTA VI's Extended Look showed off over 26 minutes of brand new footage, and it somehow looks even BETTER than everyone anticipated. The guys run through all their thoughts on the mind-blowing graphical fidelity, it seemingly running near 60FPS, gunplay, car-jacking, disguises, mini-games, character switching, voice acting, and much more. Other topics include Kevin finally getting into (and LOVING) Darksiders 1 & 2, his first time playing Madden in 4 years, another PlayStation live-service game on the brink of cancellation, and highlights from Geoff Keighley's Gamescom Opening Night Live!Start - 00:00Beating Halo: Campaign Evolved (It Was Meh) - 4:30Kevin's Favorite Issues/Bugs in Madden 27 - 8:30Fantasy Football Draft Prep Interlude - 16:30Kevin Finally Played, & Loved, Darksiders - 27:15But He's IN LOVE w/ Darksiders 2 - 41:15GTA VI Extended Look - 53:00Horizon: Hunters Gathering is in Big Trouble - 1:11:25Gamescom ONL Highlights - 1:13:55News Wrap-Up - 1:29:55

The guys return after a summer break due, in all honesty, to the incredibly frustrating state of video games that all came to a head around a month ago. They touch on this to kick off the show, before catching up on things over the past few weeks across all forms of media. These include their thoughts on The Odyssey, Spider-Man Brand New Day, Kevin's absolute slog of a journey to the Crosscode Platinum, the DELIGHTFUL Star Wars DLC for PowerWash Simulator 2, and Kevin's time so far with the highly anticipated Halo: Campaign Evolved. Xbox's "reset" is here. With it came news that 3,200 employees with Xbox (15% of all employees) will be losing their jobs, 5 studios will be departing Xbox, Xbox lost 64 cents of every dollar invested, along with significant downstream impacts. Not content to let Xbox have all the fun, PlayStation announced that they are killing physical disc production in January 2028. This, understandably, resulted in what is probably the biggest public relations disaster in PlayStation history. The guys dive into all the depressing news of the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad past week and a half in the world of video games. THIS is why XBOX fans can't have nice things... Within days of what was largely viewed as a great XBOX Games Showcase, the wheels started falling off. Asha Sharma kicked things off with her "major reset" letter giving a brutally honest look at the XBOX business, then the reports started flooding in about major layoffs coming, studio shutdowns (including Ninja Theory who JUST ANNOUNCED a new game), longtime execs leaving, and on and on... As PC Gamer put it, "XBOX speedruns 'we're so back' to 'its so over' at a speed previously thought impossible." Other topics include Valve revealing the ridiculously high price of the Steam Machine, lots of updates on the biggest games from Not-E3 Week, Kevin's thoughts on beating 007 First Light, and the brothers' review of The Adventures of Elliot. Jim Ryan's legacy at PlayStation is not exactly looked upon fondly. Over the last week, that legacy took another brutal hit when Shuehei Yoshida opened up about his exit from PlayStation after 31 years. Long story short, he was forced out by Jim Ryan for not just blindly following along with some "ridiculous things" that came from Jim himself... Meanwhile, over at Xbox, new CEO of Microsoft Gaming Asha Sharma announced the first good news that Xbox fans have had in quite a long time. Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass PC are DROPPING in price, after recently being raised to $30 and $16.50 respectively. The new prices ($23 per month for Ultimate and $14 per month for PC) are still higher than they were 6 months ago, and this decrease also means that COD will no longer come to Game Pass on Day 1, but this is still a win for fans of Xbox. Other topics discussed include the guys' thankfulness for the reception of their Saint Slayer review, their thoughts on the Mario Galaxy movie and WrestleMania 42, Sean's time with Mouse: PI for Hire, and Kevin's excitement after playing the Replaced demo. The first major AAA game of 2026, Resident Evil Requiem is finally here! The guys have both beaten it and they couldn't wait to give their full, SPOILER-FREE, thoughts on Capcom's newest entry in what has really become their signature franchise. Is it a contender for GOTY in a stacked 2026, or did it leave them disappointed and wanting more? The world of video games over the past week can be summed up by the timeless Jim Halpert quote "WHAT IS GOING ON?!?". PlayStation shut down beloved developer Bluepoint Games on Thursday, and then on Friday Xbox came out and said "Hold my beer" as Phil Spencer was announced to be "retiring", and Sarah Bond "resigned" from her position as well. Oh yeah, and the new head of Microsoft Gaming has no experience in games, but most recently was in charge of Microsoft's CoreAI program, so this is probably going to go GREAT! Let's discuss. PlayStation's State of Plays (States of Play? States of Plays?) have become so infrequent, that when they actually get announced many people's hype levels go through the roof. With last week's State of Play, it is easy to say that they absolutely delivered on that hype! At over an hour, with plenty of new game reveals, this State of Play felt like it could have been a Showcase instead. From Kena's sequel reveal, all the way to the God of War announcements, the guys are here to go over everything that Sony showed off last week!.
