FaceLift - David and Tommy
2026/10/21
It's a brand-new episode of Ian's Untitled Scene Show, and this time I'm joined by David Tomlin and Tommy Bradley of Las Vegas metalcore scene newcomers FaceLift!
FaceLift may be new, but these guys have already made a strong impression on me with their killer self-titled debut EP. I've had it on repeat, and it's easily become one of my favorite releases of the year!
We get into how the two came together, their previous experiences in the music scene, signing with Roux & Ruin Records, and why they're determined to bring back the raw, fun, unpredictable side of metalcore. We also dive into the debut EP, their songwriting process, what P.U.D. actually stands for, and their plans to finally take FaceLift on the road in 2027.
Of course, the conversation goes in plenty of other directions, including the problems with modern live performances, backing tracks, AI, the current state of the music industry, ridiculous concert prices, musical influences, and everyone's favorite... drinking stories!
There's a lot to get into with David and Tommy, and this was such a fun conversation. If you miss the days of killer riffs, catchy choruses, heavy breakdowns, and bands that actually want to play their music live, you're going to want to check out FaceLift!
Check out the episode, stream their new EP, and discover why FaceLift is a band worth paying attention to 🤘

Scary Kids Scaring Kids - Albert Schweizer
2026/10/13
On this episode of Ian’s Untitled Scene Show, I finally get the chance to hang with Albert Schweizer, the newly official vocalist of Scary Kids Scaring Kids!
Albert and I go all the way back through his history in the scene, from Note To Self and recording with Matt Good of From First To Last, to Violent New Breed, his first national tour, and the ridiculous series of full-circle moments that eventually led him to Scary Kids Scaring Kids.
We get into how what was originally supposed to be just a couple of shows turned into Albert becoming a permanent part of the band, including the story of how everything became official.
We also have a very open conversation about the rotating vocalist era of Scary Kids, the legacy of Tyson Stevens, why Albert never wants the band to abandon the classic material, and the pressure that comes with helping determine what Scary Kids Scaring Kids sounds like moving forward.
Of course, we talk about the brand new era of the band, “Something In The Water,” why it was the right song to introduce Albert, becoming a true band collective again, and the upcoming album, RISE, arriving January 8th. And, of course, so much more!
This was an incredibly fun conversation with someone who genuinely loves this scene and understands exactly how much Scary Kids Scaring Kids means to the people who grew up with them (like me).

THE UNCRTN - Sonia and Tyler
2026/10/06
On this episode of Ian’s Untitled Scene Show, I have another band joining the first-timers club: Sonia and Tyler of THE UNCRTN!
THE UNCRTN are getting ready to release their debut EP, MACHINE, on October 16th, so we get deep into this new era of the band. We talk about how working with Ricky Armellino helped completely reshape their sound, the creation of the dystopian world behind MACHINE, The Drifter, The Coalition, and how one song ended up changing the direction of the entire EP. We also get into their recent show with Greywind, why they want their own shows to feel more like actual events, and why collaboration has become such a huge part of what they do.
Of course, there are plenty of tangents along the way. We talk about their metal version of Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been,” bringing back that Punk Goes Pop feeling, working with friends throughout the scene, spending a lot of time creating with Ricky and company, and why apparently talking about aliens can be part of the recording process. Sonia and Tyler also open up about THE UNCRTN continuing as a duo, what that means for future live shows, their plans to eventually tour, and the fact that they’re already working on the next chapter after MACHINE.
There’s a lot happening in the world of THE UNCRTN, and if MACHINE is the beginning of where they’re taking this band, things are about to get very interesting.
Tune in and Scene up 🤘

SAVE US - Miguel Owls and Chris Biddiscombe Visit
2026/08/31
This week on Ian's Untitled Scene Show, I welcome Miguel and Chris of SAVE US to the show!
SAVE US may have started with thousands of miles separating the band, but things are about to get very real. We talk about preparing for their first-ever live shows on the upcoming tour with Saosin, Silent Planet, and Like Moths To Flames, what forced them to drop off the Dark Divine tour, Miguel preparing to be a frontman for the first time, their search for a permanent bassist, and somehow making a band work when half of it is across an ocean.
We also dive deep into their debut album, Death To Something, out October 16th through Solid State Records, including working with Landon Tewers, trusting an outside producer after doing everything themselves, Miguel almost scrapping the title track in the middle of the night, why they don't want filler, and why they're actually leaving plenty of unheard music for release day. Plus, we get into terrible studio diets, Chris' questionable history as a Tottenham fan, and so much more!
Make sure to listen to SAVE US, pre-order Death To Something, and check them out on tour this fall!

Joe Taylor Must Die/Versus - Joe Taylor Returns - Ian's Untitled Scene Show
2026/08/24
It's been almost seven years, but Joe Taylor is finally back on Ian's Untitled Scene Show! You may know Joe as the frontman of Versus or from Joe Taylor Must Die, but longtime listeners know he's been a friend of the show for years.
A LOT has changed since Ian and Joe last officially recorded an episode. Joe talks about what happened with Versus and their attempted comeback, losing years of social media and followers overnight, how completely changing his life led him to move across the country, and ultimately helped him find his way back to music.
They also get into Joe Taylor Must Die and the new Crash Out Sessions, including working with AJ of The Dangerous Summer, new producers, the future of the project, and what could still happen with Versus...
Plus, Ian and Joe go down plenty of music industry rabbit holes about touring, labels, buy-ons, social media, algorithms, Ryan Cabrera, Benny and AVOID, and plenty of the usual tangents along the way.
Joe Taylor Must Die is back, new music is here, and this time Ian promises it won't take another seven years to get Joe back on the show 🤘

Tom Kiely of Patient Sixty-Seven returns to Ian's Untitled Scene Show and officially joins the Five-Timers Mosh Pit 🤘
Tom and Ian catch up on everything that's changed over the last few years, including touring with Of Mice & Men and Crystal Lake, the possibility of finally bringing P67 to the U.S., a new bassist (!), and the band's next chapter.
Tom also opens up about recovery, sobriety, losing his motivation for music, and how that journey helped lead to a brand new Patient Sixty-Seven full-length album. They also get into the upcoming single, a new label partnership, MySpace nostalgia, Christmas music, and Ian's new Scene nostalgia segment! What could it be...

157frq - Jack Regent Is Back - Ian's Untitled Scene Show
2026/08/03
Jack of 157frq returns to Ian's Untitled Scene Show for one of the deepest conversations we've had in a while. After introducing listeners to A World I Was Never A Part Of during his first 157frq appearance, this episode goes even further by breaking down the album track by track and uncovering the stories, emotions, and inspirations behind each song.
Jack opens up about the success the album has found since its release, how fans have embraced the entire record instead of just the singles, and why creating a complete listening experience has always been more important than chasing one viral song. From there, we dive into the creative process behind the album, discussing everything from concept records and cinematic storytelling to the bands and albums that influenced his approach.
Along the way, we also explore topics like cancel culture, the importance of allowing people to grow, the art of leaving room for listener interpretation, and why some of the most meaningful stories are the ones that aren't spelled out for the audience.
Whether you've already spent time with A World I Was Never A Part Of or you're hearing about 157frq for the first time, this episode offers an inside look at one of the year's most thoughtful heavy records and the creative mind behind it.

The Plot In You - Landon Tewers Returns - Ian's Untitled Scene Show
2026/07/27
Landon Tewers of The Plot In You returns to Ian's Untitled Scene Show for another conversation after almost four years!
This time, we talk about the band's incredible rise over the past few years, touring arenas with Bring Me The Horizon, what success has changed (and what it hasn't), Landon’s growing role as one of the scene's top producers, and why authenticity in heavy music still matters more than ever.
We also get into one of the biggest debates in modern live music, discuss what's next for The Plot In You, and, as always, end up going down a few unexpected fun tangents.

What Lies Below - Andrew Watson - Ian's Untitled Scene Show
2026/07/06
Andrew Watson of What Lies Below joins Ian's Untitled Scene Show mere days before the release of the band's debut full-length album, I Let It Consume Me. Andrew dives into the evolution of the band's sound, the deeply personal songwriting that connects every release, and why this new record represents their darkest work yet.
The conversation also explores the creative process behind the album, the decision to release six singles ahead of launch, touring with Asking Alexandria, upcoming tours with JILUKA, Haste the Day, and Still Remains, the Harrisburg music scene, the role of atmosphere and production in modern metalcore, and more. It's an honest, in-depth discussion about writing meaningful lyrics, avoiding metalcore clichés, staying true to your sound, and what it really takes to build a band one release at a time 🤘

Jake's Untitled Scene Show: The Sequel Feat Ian Scene of Podcasting
2026/06/17
Jake Ohio (of Pyro, Ohio) is back! (and Ian Scene is sick with allergies, so don’t believe what the meds make him say in this episode…)
After a few months away, the legendary co-host returns for a long-overdue reunion episode, and it's like he never left. Ian and Jake catch up on everything that's happened since the break, from weddings and new setups to World Cup madness, USA!, and the beautiful chaos that only this duo can create.
Of course, they dive into the Scene as well, discussing Warped Tour, From First to Last's new era, Caleb Shomo's non-music headline, Senses Fail drama, THERAPY IS FOR WOMEN (🤪), and plenty of the unfiltered opinions you may have come to expect.
No scripts. No reviews. Just two old friends getting back behind the microphones and reminding everyone why they ended as the best in the Scene 🤘

Paddock Park - Brian Williams - Ian's Untitled Scene Show
2026/06/09
Paddock Park is back, and Brian Williams joins Ian's Untitled Scene Show to tell the full story for the first time 🤘
In this episode, Brian dives deep into the origins of Paddock Park, from the band's early days in the Florida scene and connections to A Day To Remember to the creation of A Hiding Place for Fake Friends and the unexpected events that led to his removal from his own band. Along the way, he shares never-before-heard stories about MySpace-era promotion, touring, record deals, and the realities of navigating the scene as a young musician.
Brian also discusses his decision to bring Paddock Park back with Tragic Hero nearly two decades later, his remarkable personal transformation, and what fans can expect from the band's future. For longtime scene fans, this is a fascinating look behind one of the era's most beloved underground releases 🤘

Light The Fire - Andrew, Blake, and Seth - Ian's Untitled Scene Show
2026/05/25
After what felt like nearly a decade, Light The Fire finally joins me on Ian's Untitled Scene Show 🤘
Seth, Andrew, and Blake stop by for a long-overdue conversation that somehow manages to be equal parts Scene history lesson, therapy session, and fun hangout.
We dive into the band's evolution from the early days through lineup changes, the unexpected way Seth ended up stepping into the frontman role, and how what could have been a disaster actually became the version of Light The Fire fans know today. We also get into ‘Death Won't Be The End Of Me’ (Parts 1 and 2), its long journey through pandemic delays, independent releases, recording with Beau Burchell of Saosin, and how the entire album slowly transformed into something much bigger than originally planned.
We also talk about songwriting, blending melodic hardcore and metalcore influences, collaborating as a full unit, the emotional weight behind some of the material, and why some songs hit a little harder than others. Along the way, we get into old school Scene energy, touring stories, features with Mike from No Bragging Rights and Sean from Decayer, shots on stage, and maybe even expose some secrets the band had been hiding all along…
There are laughs, some honest moments, and a few stories I definitely did not expect going into this one.

Foolish Things - Zak Howe - Ian's Untitled Scene Show
2026/05/18
Zak Howe returns to Ian’s Untitled Scene Show for the third time, and turns out, this might be the most honest (and most fun) conversation yet 🤘
Zak opens up about sobriety, leaving OBE, creative burnout, starting over, and the formation of his new band, Foolish Things!
We also dive deep into the upcoming self-titled Foolish Things album, the band’s heavier direction, Dallas Scene history, touring, modern pop-punk frustrations, and unhinged side conversations we love to travel.
I don’t want to give anything away because I know you’re going to enjoy this conversation. If you’ve followed Zak’s journey over the years, this is the episode where everything finally connects. If you haven’t, then it’s time to meet one of your new favorites 🤘

157frq - Jack Regent - Ian's Untitled Scene Show
2026/05/11
On this episode of Ian’s Untitled Scene Show, I’m joined by Jack of 157frq, and it’s another episode that has been a long time coming 🤘
We get into A World I Was Never A Part Of, and this is not your typical surface-level album chat. This record came from years of grinding, real-life experiences, and finally putting something out that’s completely his. No chasing trends, no playing the game. Just raw, honest music that clearly hit harder than even he expected.
Jack opens up about where that comes from, too. We talk about growing up, dealing with isolation and bullying, and how those experiences shaped both the sound and the message behind the album. There’s a lot here about mental health, self-destruction, and trying to figure yourself out when you didn’t even think you’d make it this far.
We also get into how the album actually came together, including the moment he realized he finally found the sound, plus some behind-the-scenes on specific tracks that you’ll definitely hear differently after this.
We also go into past bands, internet nonsense, and some real talk about how people interact with music and each other now.
This one’s real. If you’ve connected with the album at all, you’re going to want to hear this conversation, and if you haven’t listened yet, now is the time 🤘

Sydney - Jay Jensen and Scott Sanderson - Ian's Untitled Scene Show
2026/05/04
This one’s been a long time coming 🤘
After 20 years, I finally sat down with Scott and Jay from one of my favorites, Sydney!
We get into everything. The full original lineup is somehow back together after all this time, what actually led to the band calling it quits back in 2009, and how much of it had to do with the Scene shifting versus label pressure and just straight up bad timing. There’s some real honesty about their second record not landing the way they wanted, and what it feels like to watch the sound you built your band on start getting passed by something heavier.
We also talk about the return, including the very “Sydney” move of coming back after two decades with a minute-and-a-half punk jam for no real reason at all… which, of course, has a deeper story behind it than you’d expect.
There’s a ton of Scene talk in here, too. Touring stories, how fast things changed in the mid-2000s, getting compared to bands they weren’t even trying to sound like, and what they were actually listening to when they wrote that first record. You may be surprised…
If you were there for this era, you’re going to feel this one. If you weren’t, this is one of those conversations that explains why it still matters. Funeral For A Friend is even mentioned!
Sydney is back 🤘
