Samuel has been serving the Lord for nine years and still doesn't know Him. While the high priest Eli has been serving God's people for 30 years in the same temple as Samuel, God appears to Samuel and speaks to him in person. This Sunday we will look at Samuel's origin story and how we share many commonalities and struggles with his mom Hannah. You'll see how Hannah's faithfulness changes the direction of a nation and how we can lend the gifts we have been given from the Lord to impact those around us. Honor and humility open the door for God to move in ways that go beyond what we can imagine. The culture of this world impacts our thoughts, decisions, and actions on a daily basis. We are to be shaped by God's Kingdom and its culture. The world says that satisfaction can come through more: more money, more relationships, more experiences.
