LA Galaxy Comeback Again! Haak & Klauss Spark 3-2 Win | Playoff Race Tightens

For the first time this season, LA has won back-to-back games, and with only six matches remaining, the Western Conference playoff race has taken a dramatic turn. But this one looked lost at halftime. Colorado carried a 2-0 lead into the break, repeatedly finding space behind the Galaxy defense. Then Greg Vanney changed the approach. LA became far more aggressive with its pressure, disrupted Colorado’s attempts to play out of the back, and turned that pressure into opportunities. The result? Three unanswered second-half goals and three enormous points. João Klauss continues to show just how much the Galaxy missed him. After months away, the striker is creating problems again, and his pressure directly produced another goal against Colorado. Then Justin Haak delivered the winner, heading home Robert Taylor’s corner for his first LA Galaxy goal and earning recognition on the MLS Team of the Matchday.   Josh and Kevin also examine the tactical details behind the comeback. Sergi Roberto and Pablo Ruiz started together in midfield, while Vanney's second-half adjustments allowed Roberto to exert more control and Haak to push into unexpected spaces. Add Marco Reus as a dangerous second-half option, and the Galaxy may be discovering a formula that can change games late. And don't overlook JT Marcinkowski. The goalkeeper made crucial saves that kept a 2-0 deficit from becoming something much worse, and the Galaxy have now rewarded him with a contract extension. Josh and Kevin discuss his remarkable path back from a serious injury and why his performances have become so important to LA's playoff push. Then comes the big question: Are the Galaxy actually going to make the MLS Cup Playoffs? LA has climbed into a playoff position in the table, but games in hand and points per game tell a more complicated story. The Galaxy still have work to do; their goal differential could become important in a tiebreaker, and six matches remain to determine whether this late-season surge ends with postseason soccer. Two weeks. Two halftime deficits. Two 3-2 comeback victories. The Galaxy have finally found some momentum. Now they have to prove they can keep it. 🎙️ Corner of the Galaxy breaks down the Colorado comeback, Vanney's tactical changes, Haak and Klauss stepping up, Marcinkowski's new contract, and the playoff math with six games to go. -- Follow Corner of the Galaxy All Season Long Corner of the Galaxy is kicking off Season 18 and has surpassed 1,320 episodes! As the longest-running team-specific podcast in Major League Soccer, we’ve been covering the LA Galaxy through championships, rebuilds, blockbuster signings, unforgettable moments, and everything in between. LA Galaxy vs. Colorado Rapids: No Chucky, But Sergi Roberto Returns | Playoff Push

On this episode of Corner of the Galaxy, Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira get you ready for LA Galaxy vs. Colorado Rapids at Dignity Health Sports Park — a matchup against the team sitting directly above LA in the Western Conference standings. After a dramatic comeback victory over Minnesota United, the Galaxy have an opportunity to do something they haven't done all season: win back-to-back games and pull Colorado directly into the crowded playoff fight. But Greg Vanney will have to shuffle his lineup. Chucky Lozano will miss the Colorado match while away with the Mexican National Team, leaving the Galaxy without one of their most dangerous attacking pieces. Joseph Paintsil is progressing in his return from injury but was considered unlikely to be available for the weekend. The good news? Sergi Roberto and Elijah Wynder are both available for selection, giving LA some badly needed reinforcements for the final stretch. Josh and Eric discuss what Lozano's absence means for the Galaxy attack and why the potential midfield combination of Sergi Roberto and Pablo Ruiz could become one of the most interesting tactical developments of the weekend. Ruiz has quickly emerged as an important piece for LA, bringing composure, distribution, and another dangerous weapon from outside the box. Then it's time to break down the Colorado Rapids. How does Colorado want to play? Where can the Galaxy exploit them? And could a Colorado team willing to possess the ball and press through midfield actually create opportunities for LA to attack quickly in transition? With Marco Reus, João Klauss, Robert Taylor and Ruiz available, the Galaxy may have the pieces to punish Colorado if they can successfully play through the Rapids' pressure. The guys also dig into the Western Conference playoff race, where the standings don't tell the entire story. When the conference is sorted by points per game, LA's position becomes even more precarious. With seven matches remaining, scoreboard watching has officially begun — and Portland, Seattle, San Diego, Austin, Real Salt Lake and Colorado are all part of the equation. Plus, John Nelson reaches 100 appearances for the Galaxy, and we explain why his defensive stability could become increasingly valuable during the stretch run. The Minnesota comeback gave the Galaxy some life. Now comes the harder part: proving they can build on it. Seven games remain. Colorado is directly ahead of LA. Chucky is away. Sergi Roberto is back. And the Galaxy's margin for error is disappearing.

Recording LIVE from Long Beach Beer Lab, Josh Guesman, Sophie Nicolaou and Kevin Baxter break down the Galaxy’s dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Minnesota United, a result that keeps LA firmly in the Western Conference playoff fight. After trailing 2-1 at halftime, the Galaxy found another gear in the second half, with Marco Reus and João Klauss coming off the bench and completely changing the match.  Reus delivered a superstar performance, while Klauss announced his return with a massive header. Their impact also raises some fascinating questions for Greg Vanney: Should Klauss return to the starting lineup? Could Kyogo Furuhashibecome even more dangerous against tired defenses? And has the Galaxy finally developed enough depth to change games from the bench instead of relying exclusively on their starting XI?  The guys also discuss Chucky Lozano, who continues to work, create fouls and make an impact but still has another attacking gear the Galaxy need to find. With Lozano recently called back into the Mexican National Team picture, his performances during the final stretch could also play an important role in determining his future with LA.  And what does this victory mean for the MLS playoff race? Seven games remain, the Galaxy are fighting around the playoff line, and their remaining schedule includes several direct Western Conference competitors. The panel works through the road ahead and debates whether this comeback could finally be the result that changes the direction of LA's season.  Plus, Sergi Roberto and Joseph Paintsil could be getting closer to returning, Robert Taylor continues to make a case for his place in the lineup, and the discussion turns to which players have made the strongest cases for Galaxy Player and Defender of the Year.  It’s a lively Corner of the Galaxy postgame show recorded in front of Galaxy fans in Long Beach after one of LA's biggest road victories of the season. On this episode of Corner of the Galaxy, Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter break down the Galaxy’s road victory, including Pablo Ruiz’s free-kick goal, the second-half impact of João Klauss, and another huge performance from Marco Reus, who came off the bench to help turn a 2-1 deficit into a Galaxy win.  With Klauss getting healthy, the Galaxy finally have a different dimension in the attack. What does his return mean for Kyogo Furuhashi? How can LA get more from Chucky Lozano? And should Reus continue carrying the attack as the Galaxy fight their way toward the postseason?  Josh and Kevin also take a detailed look at the MLS Western Conference playoff race. Seven games remain, and LA's upcoming schedule is packed with teams directly around them in the standings. That makes the next match against the Colorado Rapids particularly important: a Galaxy victory could pull Colorado back toward the pack, while a loss could put significant distance between LA and seventh place.  Plus, we discuss LA's Designated Player situation, possible offseason roster decisions, the importance of getting Sergi Roberto and Joseph Paintsil healthy, and what the Galaxy need to prove before anyone can believe the Minnesota victory represents a genuine late-season turnaround. And we recap an incredible night with Galaxy fans at Long Beach Beer Lab, where roughly 80 people packed the venue to watch the match and join COG for a live postgame show.  Seven games. On this episode of Corner of the Galaxy, Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicolaou examine the Western Conference playoff race, the pressure surrounding Greg Vanney, and why Saturday’s road matchup against Minnesota United could be pivotal to LA’s postseason hopes.  There’s encouraging LA Galaxy injury news ahead of Minnesota. Sergi Roberto is trending in the right direction after his shoulder injury and could return sooner than initially feared. Elijah Wynder is also nearing availability, while Marco Reus is expected to be ready for Saturday. Plus, João Klauss discusses the physical and mental challenges of his injury recovery and return to the field.  The show also breaks down the Galaxy’s 2026 roster construction and MLS salary mechanisms, including newly released General Allocation Money figures, Designated Players, U22 Initiative players, TAM contracts and international roster slots. After a significant summer roster overhaul, has Will Kuntz given Vanney the pieces necessary to reach the playoffs? And Chucky Lozano earns a return to the Mexican National Team as he prepares to play a major role in LA’s stretch run.  Finally, Josh and Sophie preview LA Galaxy vs. Minnesota United and what the Galaxy need on the road. LA Galaxy Let Seattle Escape as Injuries Threaten Playoff Push

Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter break down a match the Galaxy needed to win, from missed opportunities in front of goal to the defensive breakdown that allowed Seattle to equalize in the closing minutes. LA created chances but couldn't find the second goal, continuing a season-long problem of failing to turn leads into victories.  Now the MLS Cup Playoff race gets even more difficult. The Galaxy remain alive in a crowded Western Conference, but the Seattle draw puts even more pressure on their remaining eight games. LA hasn't won consecutive matches all season, yet the teams surrounding them are struggling too, leaving an unlikely opening if the Galaxy can finally find some consistency. The problem? After failing to capitalize at home, they now need to start finding points on the road — beginning with Minnesota United.  The biggest concern, however, may be Sergi Roberto's shoulder injury. Roberto appeared at the Galaxy's season-ticket event with his arm in a sling, and his potential absence could remove one of the most important pieces of LA's rebuilt midfield. Marco Reus also left the Seattle match with a groin concern, while Joseph Paintsil continues to work through a thigh issue. For a Galaxy team whose improved depth was supposed to become an advantage down the stretch, another wave of injuries could dramatically change the playoff equation.  Josh and Kevin also revisit Saturday's Corner of the Galaxy LIVE show with Riqui Puig, Will Kuntz and Tom Braun, including Puig's emotional return to the spotlight and his emphatic support of head coach Greg Vanney. That leads directly into the growing questions surrounding Vanney's future: is making the playoffs enough, and what happens if the Galaxy fall short? The discussion examines both Vanney's 2024 MLS Cup championship and a Galaxy team that has struggled to produce consistent results in 2026.  Finally, the Galaxy turn their attention to Minnesota United and a road match that could define their playoff push. Lucas Calegari's return provides a boost, and LA suddenly has more options off the bench, but draws aren't going to be enough forever. Minnesota sits right in the same congested portion of the Western Conference table, making Saturday another opportunity to take three points while denying them to a direct competitor. The Galaxy survived Seattle, but they lost another precious week — and the clock on their 2026 season is getting louder.  -- Follow Corner of the Galaxy All Season Long Corner of the Galaxy is kicking off Season 18 and has surpassed 1,300 episodes! As the longest-running team-specific podcast in Major League Soccer, we’ve been covering the LA Galaxy through championships, rebuilds, blockbuster signings, unforgettable moments, and everything in between. LIVE FROM DHSP - Riqui Puig Opens Up on LA Galaxy Return, Sergi Roberto & Greg Vanney
2026/09/14
Riqui Puig is getting closer to his LA Galaxy return — and he's looking at soccer differently after two devastating knee injuries. Corner of the Galaxy goes live from Dignity Health Sports Park with Puig making a rare public appearance to discuss his ACL recovery, the difficulty of enduring two surgeries and his excitement at finally getting back onto the training field. Puig explains why his knee now feels stronger and more stable, how the experience changed his appreciation for being a professional soccer player, and why simply touching a ball again means so much. Puig also looks ahead to an intriguing LA Galaxy midfield featuring Sergi Roberto and delivers a strong endorsement of head coach Greg Vanney. Puig believes the Galaxy's recent signings have made the team competitive again and asks supporters to "trust the process," pointing to the club's journey from missing the playoffs in 2023 to winning MLS Cup in 2024. He also makes clear how important Vanney has been to his Galaxy career, explaining that the coach was a major reason he chose Los Angeles and that he continues to believe Vanney can lead the club back to championship contention. Then LA Galaxy General Manager Will Kuntz joins the show to explain a summer transfer window that became far busier than initially expected. Kuntz discusses how departures created additional needs, why the Galaxy added more veteran experience and how the front office is constructing the roster with both the present and the next 18 months in mind. With the MLS calendar transition, an upcoming sprint season and a new CBA on the horizon, maintaining roster flexibility remains important — but so does making a run right now. The Galaxy enter the closing stretch with nine games remaining and almost no room for wasted opportunities in a crowded Western Conference playoff race. Finally, Galaxy President and COO Tom Braun joins Josh Guesman, Kevin Baxter and Sophie Nicolaou for a broader conversation about the club and its supporters, including the fan experience and the Galaxy's efforts to strengthen its connection with the community. It's a wide-ranging live edition of Corner of the Galaxy that goes beyond the usual match analysis: Puig provides a revealing update on his road back to the field, Kuntz explains the thinking behind LA's rebuilt roster, and Braun discusses the club's relationship with its fans — all while the Galaxy face a defining final stretch of the 2026 MLS season.
LA Galaxy Gamble in Vancouver — Now Seattle Becomes a Must-Win

Faced with a midweek road game on turf against the Western Conference leaders — and another match just three days later — LA rotated several important pieces out of the starting lineup. Sergi Roberto, Marco Reus and Eric Thommy were among those protected, and the result was a 3-0 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps. Was it the right gamble? That's the question hanging over Saturday night's matchup with the Seattle Sounders. Vancouver was simply better. The Whitecaps played with more intensity, pressured the Galaxy into mistakes, and punished the little details LA failed to execute. A quick throw helped create the opening goal, a turnover contributed to another, and Vancouver never really allowed the Galaxy to establish control. The performance also revived a familiar concern: why does this Galaxy team continue to struggle matching its opponent's intensity at the beginning of games and coming out of halftime? Josh and Eric debate how much belongs to the players, how much belongs to Greg Vanney, and whether recurring fundamental mistakes inevitably bring the conversation back to coaching. One player who continues to escape criticism is JT Marcinkowski. Somehow, in a game the Galaxy lost by three goals, their goalkeeper was still arguably their best player. Marcinkowski made six saves and continued a remarkable season that has Josh arguing he deserves serious recognition among the league's top goalkeepers. There are bigger questions developing further up the field. Kyogo Furuhashi still can't find his first Galaxy goal, despite repeatedly getting himself into dangerous positions. Chucky Lozano continues to show the intelligence, movement and ability that made him such an intriguing addition, but the Galaxy are still waiting for everything to click in the final third. And with the season entering its final stretch, the discussion is beginning to shift toward a larger roster question: which players are demonstrating that they're worth occupying the Galaxy's most valuable roster spots going forward? The numbers explain why those questions matter. The Galaxy have now been shut out four times in their last 10 games, and their projected offensive output remains well below what LA produced during its 2024 MLS Cup season. The defense has improved compared with last year, but the offense simply hasn't provided enough support. And yet, remarkably, the playoff door remains open. LA has 29 points through 25 games, exactly where the club stood through 25 games in 2023. Despite Wednesday's loss, the Galaxy remain within touching distance of the playoff line. That makes the games against teams around them far more consequential than losing on the road to first-place Vancouver. Which brings everything back to Seattle. The Sounders arrive in Carson winless in 11 MLS matches, and they're sitting right alongside the Galaxy near the bottom of the Western Conference. These are two teams with remarkably similar statistical profiles, both desperate for points and both running out of opportunities to change their seasons. If the Galaxy's decision in Vancouver was partly about protecting players for Saturday, then Saturday has to justify the gamble. Josh lays out a simple path: LA has five home games remaining. Win those five and the Galaxy would add 15 points, reaching 44 — a total that could put them into the postseason conversation without requiring them to suddenly become an excellent road team. But once LA starts dropping points at home, the math becomes considerably more difficult.
LA Galaxy Find a New Gear: Sergi Roberto Stabilizes LA as Vancouver Test Looms
2026/09/08
The LA Galaxy finally gave us a glimpse of what this rebuilt roster might actually look like when the pieces start fitting together. LA's 2-1 win over the New England Revolution wasn't perfect. New England piled up shots, hit the woodwork three times and eventually broke through from the penalty spot late. But for long stretches, the Galaxy looked more composed, more mature and — perhaps most importantly — more difficult to break down. And a lot of that starts with Sergi Roberto. In his first Galaxy start, the former Barcelona captain brought something LA has desperately needed: stability in the center of the field. Roberto's positioning, decision-making and ability to progress the ball changed the Galaxy's shape on both sides of the ball. With Roberto sitting underneath Marco Reus and Eric Thommy, LA suddenly looked like a team capable of possessing the ball with a purpose instead of simply possessing it. The second goal provided the perfect example. Roberto helped turn possession out of the back into a quick attacking move that eventually went through Reus and Chucky Lozano before finding Robert Taylor for the finish. It was the kind of direct, decisive possession that reminded Josh of the Galaxy's 2024 attack — and it gave Taylor his first goal in 14 months. But the bigger story may be what all these additions have done to the roster. Taylor earned a start and scored. Pablo Ruiz came off the bench and helped LA manage the closing stages. Lucas Sanabria suddenly becomes another midfield option rather than someone the Galaxy have to rely upon every week. João Klauss is getting closer to returning. And once Lucas Calegari receives the necessary clearance, LA could have another veteran option available at right back. Even JT Marcinkowski deserves another spotlight. His six-save performance helped protect the Galaxy's lead, and Josh makes the case that Marcinkowski deserves consideration for Comeback Player of the Year after returning from a devastating injury and becoming one of LA's most dependable players. Now comes the reality check. The Galaxy have won just twice in their last 11 games, and one good Saturday doesn't erase everything that came before it. But they're sitting on 29 points with 10 games remaining, and the Western Conference playoff race remains incredibly compressed. The upcoming schedule also puts LA directly against several of the teams fighting for those same postseason spots. First comes a difficult trip north. The Galaxy face the Western Conference-leading Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday night, where the challenge isn't necessarily proving that Saturday was the beginning of some unstoppable run. It's showing that this new version of the Galaxy can reproduce the stability, discipline and attacking movement that finally appeared against New England. Vancouver is favored, LA may have to rotate, and stealing points on the road would provide another significant boost before Saturday's home matchup with Seattle. Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter break down the New England victory, Sergi Roberto's immediate influence, Robert Taylor's breakthrough, JT Marcinkowski's season, the Galaxy's newfound depth, the increasingly crowded Western Conference playoff race and what LA needs to accomplish Wednesday night in Vancouver. For the first time in a while, the Galaxy aren't just talking about what this roster could become. Against New England, we finally got to see it.
LA Galaxy Reshape the Roster: Calegari Returns, Ruiz Arrives & the Final Push Begins

Calegari's return might be the most intriguing move. The former Galaxy Defender of the Year is healthy, experienced in the system and eager to return to Los Angeles. But his arrival also creates legitimate competition with Harbor Miller, whose emergence has been one of the more encouraging developments of the season. Could the Galaxy find ways to use both? Then there's Ruiz. The experienced MLS midfielder gives LA another option in the middle and could help reshape how Sergi Roberto, Lucas Sanabria, Marco Reus and Justin Haak are used down the stretch. Roberto already offered a glimpse against San Diego of the progressive passing and creativity he can bring from deeper positions. One departure, however, deserves a closer look. Ruben Ramos Jr. has been loaned to Sporting Kansas City through the 2027 sprint season in exchange for $75,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money, with a purchase option included. After Ramos showed signs of breaking through, is regular playing time elsewhere exactly what he needs — or should the Galaxy have found those minutes at home? Now comes the part that matters. The Galaxy have 11 games and 33 available points remaining. They're still within striking distance of the playoff line, but the required pace from here is daunting. And Saturday's home match against fourth-place New England Revolution provides an immediate test of whether this remodeled roster can turn potential into points. There are reasons for optimism. Chucky Lozano is beginning to show his difference-making ability, João Klauss appears close to returning, Roberto should be ready for a larger role, and the Galaxy suddenly have more legitimate lineup options than they've had for much of the season. Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira break down a surprisingly busy transfer window, Calegari's return, what Ruiz adds to the midfield, the Ramos loan, LA's increasingly veteran roster, and a New England matchup that could tell us whether this late-season rebuild arrived in time. The Galaxy have changed the roster. Now we get to find out whether they've changed their season. Galaxy Running Out of Time: Vanney’s Hot Seat, Lozano Delivers & the Playoff Math Gets Ugly

Instead, they left with a 3-1 loss, another frustrating performance and even more questions about where this season is headed. Chucky Lozano delivered in his emotional return to San Diego, scoring against his former club and looking like the Galaxy’s most dangerous player. Sergi Roberto also made an immediate impression off the bench, giving LA a glimpse of what its midfield could become as he works toward full fitness.  But the individual positives can't hide the bigger problem. The Galaxy have one win in their last nine games, and an offense loaded with recognizable names continues to struggle. LA has scored just five goals over its last six matches despite ranking near the top of MLS in shots on target. Joseph Paintsil's form is becoming a serious concern, Robert Taylor continues to make a case for more minutes, and the podcast asks a question that suddenly doesn't seem so crazy: Should Taylor start over Paintsil? Then there's Greg Vanney. With 11 games remaining, the Galaxy need to produce at a dramatically higher rate than they have all season. The schedule isn't getting easier, the teams around them have games in hand, and simply sneaking into the playoffs may no longer be enough to settle questions about Vanney's future. And hovering over everything is Riqui Puig. His return to full training could finally be approaching in September, but after nearly two years without hearing directly from him, it's time to hear where Puig believes he is physically, mentally, and in his Galaxy future.  Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter break down the San Diego loss, the controversial disallowed goal, Lozano's performance, Roberto's debut, Paintsil's struggles, Puig's return, the increasingly unforgiving playoff math, and the mounting pressure on the people responsible for turning this roster into a winner. The Galaxy have spent months talking about what this team could become. Now they're almost out of time to prove it. Lozano Returns to San Diego as the LA Galaxy Reach a Turning Point

Lozano returns to face his former club for the first time, bringing plenty of emotion to a match the Galaxy desperately need. But after three consecutive games with a red card, Greg Vanney says his team must control that emotion, keep 11 players on the field, and finally turn its revamped roster into points.  And reinforcements are arriving. Sergi Roberto is ready to play. The former Barcelona captain explains why he chose Los Angeles, the role Riqui Puig played in bringing him to the Galaxy, and his desire to help push the club into the playoffs. Vanney believes Roberto can become the on-field organizer the Galaxy have been missing — a player capable of controlling the midfield and raising the team's ceiling. There could also be one more roster move coming before Wednesday's transfer deadline, while the Galaxy continue to evaluate their remaining U22 Initiative opportunity or other needed positions. But everything eventually comes back to Saturday night. A win could vault the Galaxy right back into the crowded Western Conference playoff race. A loss would make the climb significantly harder. With Lozano walking into a hostile Snapdragon Stadium, Roberto ready to enter the midfield, and the pressure building around Vanney, this feels like one of those games that could define what comes next.  Is this finally the night the reloaded Galaxy become the team everyone thinks they can be? 🎙️ Listen to Corner of the Galaxy for Lozano’s return to San Diego, Roberto’s first comments as a Galaxy player, Vanney’s expectations for his new midfielder, the latest transfer reporting, and a complete preview of a potentially season-defining showdown. A 2-2 draw with CF Montreal featured Ruben Ramos Jr.’s first MLS goal, an outrageous backheel from Maya Yoshida and several encouraging performances. But JT Marcinkowski’s second-half red card changed the match and continued an alarming trend: the Galaxy have now been shown a red card in three consecutive games and have six this season, tied for the MLS lead.  Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter break down the discipline problems that continue to cost the Galaxy valuable points — a particularly painful problem with the club sitting just outside the Western Conference playoff positions.  But there are reasons for optimism. Sergi Roberto is finally in Los Angeles and could be available this weekend, while João Klauss may also be nearing his return. Add them to Lozano, Kyogo, Paintsil and an improving group of young players, and Greg Vanney suddenly has options he hasn’t had for much of the season.  And then there’s Chucky Lozano. After three appearances with the Galaxy, the flashes are there — and the podcast explains why there’s little concern about the lack of goals so far. More importantly, everything Josh has seen around the team suggests Lozano has fit into the locker room extremely well.  Now comes the game everyone has been waiting for: Lozano returns to San Diego to face his former club. Can the Galaxy keep 11 players on the field, unleash their increasingly dangerous attack, and turn a highly emotional night at Snapdragon Stadium into three desperately needed points? 🎙️ Listen to Corner of the Galaxy as Josh and Kevin break down the Montreal draw, the red-card problem, Sergi Roberto’s arrival, Klauss’ potential return, and a massive Lozano reunion with San Diego. Playing with 10 men for the entire second half, the Galaxy battled to a 1-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes, snapping a six-game winless streak and moving within two points of the Western Conference playoff line.  On this episode of Corner of the Galaxy, Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicolaou break down Hirving “Chucky” Lozano’s first start and home debut, the energy he’s already bringing to the locker room, and why the Galaxy suddenly look like a much more dangerous team. Lozano played roughly 65 minutes, showing his ability to break pressure, combine with teammates, and create problems off the dribble.  But the night also belonged to 19-year-old Harbor Miller and goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski. Miller created Joseph Paintsil’s game-winning goal and continued his rapid emergence at right back, while Marcinkowski delivered another outstanding performance to preserve the shutout.  The show also tackles Lucas Sanabria’s costly red card, the Galaxy’s growing discipline problem, the improving defense, and the upcoming trip to Montreal—with Sergi Roberto potentially arriving as soon as Friday.  With 13 matches remaining, are we finally starting to see the team the Galaxy hoped they could become? 🎙️ Listen to Corner of the Galaxy as Josh and Sophie break down the San Jose win, Lozano’s promising home debut, the rise of Harbor Miller, and a suddenly fascinating LA Galaxy playoff push. On this episode of Corner of the Galaxy: From the Box, Josh Guesman and Damian Calhoun break down Lozano’s debut, Kyogo Furuhashi’s first start, Emiro Garcés’ third red card of the season, and another frustrating night for the Galaxy attack. The defense limited Houston’s chances, but the Galaxy still lacked the progressive passing needed to supply Lozano, Kyogo and Joseph Paintsil. That makes the arrival of Sergi Roberto increasingly important as the club searches for a solution in midfield. The show also covers Miki Yamane’s transfer to Urawa Red Diamonds, Harbor Miller’s expected move into the starting right-back role, and the possibility of more roster moves. With 14 matches remaining and the Galaxy still within reach of the playoff line, the pressure is building. 🎙️ Listen as Josh and Damian discuss the Houston loss, Chucky Lozano’s debut, and what the Galaxy must fix before time runs out.
