How can you shine as a light in the world? This passage teaches us to do all things without grumbling or disputing, hold fast to the word of life, and rejoice together. This is God's recipe for a brilliant life! #ShiningLight #Philippians2 #Philippians #BibleStudy #ChristianLiving #LightOfTheWorld #WordOfLife #Rejoice #Sermon

Why would the Bible say, "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling"? That phrase sounds terrifying, and it seems to clash with the love and security we have in Christ. But in Philippians 2:12-13 we discover two golden truths that are meant to be held together: we work out our salvation with fear and trembling AND God works in us to will and to work for his good pleasure. These two truths must coexist at the same time to ensure our growth and confidence in Christ.  #Philippians2 #ChristianWorkOut #FearAndTrembling #WorkOutYourSalvation #BibleTeaching #Sermon #CEFC #ChristianFaith #GodWorksInYou

In this message we learn that the apostle Paul calls us to unity by having the mind of Christ. He reminds us of the blessings we have received in Christ and therefore calls us to humility, looking to the interests of others above our own. Paul points to Christs' life and death as the example for our attitudes and actions with the end result being the glory of God the Father. Join us at cefc.church for more.

Jesus sees how people are harassed, hurting, and helpless, and He looks on us with compassion. In this passage, Jesus uses the illustration of sheep without a shepherd to describe our desperate condition and our need for His care, guidance and protection. Then Jesus describes people as a great harvest ready to be gathered. The fields are ready, the need is urgent, and Jesus calls His followers to pray and go and gather people to Christ.

What makes life worth living? The apostle Paul's life gives us a window into the mind of a man struggling and suffering with the injustices of life and the challenges of old age. His words offer profound insight into what it means to live a life of meaning and purpose found in Christ. #LifeWorthLiving #reasontolive #purpose #Jesus

God is amazingly able to use bad things for good. The worst that people throw against you, God is able to use for good. But what is good? Good is the advancement of the gospel. That is more important than health or happiness or anything else that we might pursue in this life. God can use bad things to advance His Gospel, and this is a reason to rejoice! The frequent pairing of "grace and peace" in Paul’s letters in the New Testament highlights their importance in the Christian experience. "Grace" initiates and sustains our relationship with God, and "peace" is the result. This first message of our new sermon series in Philippians highlights some of the ways grace and peace impact the Christian’s daily life and make all the difference in the world to the believer. Have you ever faced a situation so overwhelming that you didn't know what to do? If you've ever prayed, "God, I don't know what to do, but my eyes are on You," then this is the next step: It is time to praise! We can praise even when we are still in the midst of our problem because our Lord is bigger than our problems. Join us in 2 Chronicles 20 as we discover the power of praise and learn when to praise, why to praise, and how to praise even before the answer comes. #PowerOfPraise #PraiseGod #Worship #Faith #TrustGod #BibleTeaching #ChristianSermon #ExpositoryPreaching #2Chronicles20 #Jehoshaphat

If you are facing a battle that fills you with fear, then it is time to pray! 2 Chronicles 20 shows us a powerful prayer. Our Father in heaven hears our prayers and saves his people. As king Jehoshaphat prays, "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You" (2 Chronicles 20:12) we too can pray to our heavenly Father. Join us at cefc.church.

Everyone gets off track from time to time. How do you respond when you receive correction? Do you get defensive, angry or withdrawn? In 2 Chronicles 19, King Jehoshaphat takes correction in the best way possible.
