Sure Thing Mix 155: Lynne
2026/09/29
It's my pleasure to welcome Japan-born and London-based Lynne to the series, the Astral Industries and Unknown Species resident known across oceans for her uncompromising explorations into the sonic unknown. Recorded live at this year's Chaos Ambiants festival, a gathering of experimental sound in France's Morvan Regional National Park, this set captures Lynne in her most visceral element, expanding breathlessly from a resonant whisper to a wide-open vortex. Within the span of two hours Lynne reconfigures time and space into an orbit all her own, a boundless vision reaching past the mind's periphery. Thanks Lynne!

Sure Thing Mix 154: Aerae b2b Presha
2026/09/02
In collaboration with our friends at Mostra, I'm honored to welcome France's Aerae and Samurai Music Group founder Presha to the series with a monumental back-to-back set recorded at this year's festival.
Presha's decades-long influence on the scope of modern drum and bass is without measure, having established an entire universe of music through Samurai, its several sublabels, and its network of accomplished artists operating in the greater 170 bpm realm. One such talent is France's Aerae, whose few yet impeccable releases on imprints such as QEONE, Annulled, and of course Samurai reveal an astute ability to evoke the meditative and transportive nature inherent to modern halftime dance music.
Listening to this set, it's impossible not to imagine the atmosphere within the festival, the slow build of ancestral revelry, the two-hour temporal whirlwind wherein the sinews of contemporary drum and bass are laid bare. Thank you, Geoff and Claire!

Sure Thing Mix 153: Alex Albrecht
2026/05/26
It's an honor to welcome Melbourne's Alex Albrecht for the next chapter in our series, an artist whose work I've admired for so many years. There is such a sensitivity in Alex's music, a delicate handhold between feeling and movement that lives within each measure, and which Alex brings out with such profound and organic ease. The vast horizon of sound that Alex has built through his own discography and that of his tremendous label Analogue Attic, co-founded with Sean La'Brooy, has undeniably shaped the path I find myself walking today and I know many others would say the same.
Here Alex presents a story compiled from recent live performances and a companion to his newly released album "Hiriketiya", a soft-focus snapshot of a path leading home, a set rooted so firmly in a sense of place that one can't help but feel transported in its wake. Thank you Alex!

Sure Thing Mix 152: Caim
2026/05/13
The Hague's Caim joins our series with a two-hour, all-vinyl recording steeped in late spring's glow, channeling the veteran producer's penchant for sustained groove and mind-diving alchemy. A rare look into the crates of an artist whose sought-after discography demands a deep dive in itself, Caim's set radiates with inner warmth, an infrared swirl of time-worn and newly minted sound channeled through an indelible, effervescent haze. Thanks Mark!

Sure Thing Mix 151: Tammo Hesselink
2026/04/28
Amsterdam's Tammo Hesselink is a rare talent, a multi-faceted producer whose many releases and aliases span both our own imprint and several of our favorite labels, including Nous'klaer, Delsin, and Midgar. Tammo's style is uniquely his own yet all but impossible to define, hallmarked by exacting precision and striking fidelity, unrestrained by genre or style. Holding residencies at both De School and Garage Noord, the evolution of Tammo's artistic career is inseparable from that of the Dutch scene itself and synonymous with its very forefront.
It's a treat to finally welcome Tammo to the series with this extended recording from Madrid's Espacio Perpendicular for Simulacro Colectivo, three hours of controlled chaos, a shifting latticework of blistering percussion, amorphous haze, and pure ballistic sound. Thanks Tammo!

Sure Thing Mix 150: Jasmín
2026/03/18
Jasmín folds us into her singular dimension with a long-awaited episode from the Dutch-Argentinian artist. Jasmín is a mainstay across the Netherlands' most cutting-edge lineups for a reason, and with a recent EP for Hessle Audio under her belt there's no question that she's a remarkable talent to be reckoned with. Her assured command of rhythm is on full display in this set, a chain reaction of subliminal sound built with immaculate control and fluid grace, an intricate ecosystem of silt and stone. Thank you Jasmín!

Sure Thing Mix 149: TSUNIMAN
2026/02/17
Our latest entry welcomes London's TSUNIMAN, whose reputation as one of the city's most beloved selectors long preceded our chance to finally meet during last year's Draaimolen. Conjuring a full spectrum of emotion while maintaining a sense of weightless propulsion throughout, the degree of craft and care within this mix is tremendous, and the result is pure sonic alchemy. A galvanic swirl of modern and timeless sound, a primal gateway reaching stratospheric heights. Thank you Iman!

Sure Thing Mix 148: Pianeti Sintetici
2026/01/13
We begin the new year with a familiar face, as Milan’s Pianeti Sintetici returns to our series nearly five years to the day following his contribution as part of Primal Code. A favorite of many whose much-lauded releases on labels such as Astral Industries, Hypnus, Samurai Music and QEONE form a universe of unparalleled depth all their own, here the otherworldly talent gathers his inspirations into a divine exploration of shifting wavelengths and rhythms in delicate orbit, heavy in its pull and shimmering gracefully like vapor upon the frost. Thanks Davide!

Sure Thing Mix 147: Jan Swam
2025/10/21
Madrid's Jan Swam joins our series with a potent delivery of centrifugal, sub-heavy psychedelia. At the helm of the Organic Signs label and its annual Refractor Festival, Jan Swam is a guiding force in the realm of modern sonic exploration, in constant pursuit of new avenues for mental metamorphosis through his boundary-pushing platforms and his own exquisite productions. We finally connected at last year's Positive Education festival, bonding over our appreciation for expansive dance floor experiences and a shared love of certain records nearly lost to time. It's a pleasure to share this mix in which every turn is carefully considered, where rhythms contort beneath the surface and the mind’s textures become obscured within smoke. Thanks Alejandro!

Sure Thing Mix 146: Cio D'Or
2025/09/16
Cio D’Or hardly requires an introduction, having long stood as both a pillar of our scene and a source of inspiration for so many. Over the course of her singular and decades-spanning career, the Cologne-based artist has cultivated a universe of sound entirely her own, immediately recognizable yet endlessly evolving much like the work of her contemporaries and collaborators Mike Parker and Donato Dozzy. To experience Cio’s music is to follow a throughline that traces the complex history of contemporary techno in a single gesture, compelled by the vast unknown and the primordial familiar in equal measure. Recalling the blurred realism of Richter’s photo-paintings or the timeless intricacy of Bach’s fugues, Cio’s self-contained sonic world delicately reframes our own precious lifecycle, a reflection revealed through its elegant and subtractive minimalism.
In collaboration with our friends at Mostra, I’m honored to share a selection from Cio D’Or’s set performed at this year’s edition of the Barcelona-based festival, a sublime triumph from a scholar of sound.

Sure Thing Mix 145: F-on
2025/09/04
Madrid's F-on is a much beloved figure within the Spanish scene, known for his elegant all-vinyl sets and curation behind the brilliant Alpenglühen label among so much more. We stayed in touch after his particularly beautiful set at 2017’s Paral·lel Festival, and I've been looking forward to one day sharing this episode of the series since. Alfonso’s mix is uncanny in its precision and demonstrates a prowess behind the decks that few can match, a soft palette built through veteran and timeless selection. Two hours in and out of focus like rippling dust through which the flow of time slows, a stasis in the stream. Thanks Alfonso!

Two remixes from Thailand’s Sunju Hargun and Sweden’s Evigt Mörker complete the vision, reconfiguring each original track in masterful and signature style and bringing new energies to focus.

Sure Thing Mix 144: Haruka
2025/06/24
A veritable staple of the Japanese scene and founder of the Protection label, Haruka joins our series with two hours of delightful, liquiform groove recorded live from Kyoto. Expansive yet dialed in with tireless precision, Haruka’s set transitions between eyes-down introspection and buoyant, infectious energy with ease. To witness this level of craft enveloped by such a warm and vibrant aura is an absolute pleasure, and it’s easy to imagine oneself suspended weightless in Haruka’s element. Thank you Haruka!

Sure Thing Mix 143: Dual Monitor
2025/06/11
London & Liverpool duo Dual Monitor join our series with a stunning showcase of their hypnotic and heavyweight sound, a recipe they’ve all but perfected through releases on SPE:C, Hardline, Rinse and so many more to come. A full-spectrum mixture of their wide ranging influences builds to eye-watering effect, a parallax vision of dynamic rhythms and deepest hues, comprising work from so many label favorites and a hefty dose of unreleased material from the duo. Thanks Fliss & Zebb!
