Wichita State basketball coach Paul Mills and Voice of the Shockers Denning Gerig join the podcast to discuss the non-conference schedule. We discuss how Wichita State’s high number of returners informed scheduling plans and why a move from Nashville to Lexington didn’t change Mills’ desire to play Kentucky. Home games vs. Boise State and New Mexico are highlights and we dive into their importance to building an NCAA Tournament resume. We also talk about learning from NBA coaches and Mills’ choice for a road arena he would love to visit.

Max Buettenback and Maddox Meyer of Wichita State baseball visit the podcast to discuss how they chose Wichita State and how they are aiming to improve their skills. We talk about teammates making a good impression this fall, Runza sandwiches and The Barton School of Business.

Wichita State volleyball assistant coaches Ashleigh Houlton and Katie Zimmerman visit to get fans prepared for the season, which starts this weekend with the Shocker Volleyball Classic. We discuss exhibition matches vs. Omaha and Kansas City, how running the 6-2 might fit and the benefits of Jordan Heatherly’s second season. We talk about Chris Lamb’s texting buddies, the importance of digging coal together, and lessons learned from polite disagreement. Houlton breaks down the liberos and Zimmerman dives into the middle blockers, both returners and newcomers. We wrap up by talking about Lamb’s fanny pack promotion and a sampling of items found in Lamb’s fanny pack/backpack.
