CTP 220: Dunkirk
2026/09/17
After the success of Interstellar, Christopher Nolan came back to Earth to tell one of the most uniquely structured modern war films starring a wide ensemble of British actors. Tackling the civilian-led evacuation of the British Army at Dunkirk during the early stages of WWII, Nolan looks at three different storylines over different periods of time all cut together to tell the story of those harrowing days. Coming up next, we are finally discussing his Best Picture Winner, Oppenheimer (sorry no Tenet pod)!
CTP 219: Interstellar
2026/09/05
It's been a month since our last pod...oops. But we are back with one of the most beloved Christopher Nolan films, Interstellar. Despite being divisive at the time, this film has become one of the most popular of his films, especially among Gen Z. Come back next episode as we discuss Nolan follow up, Dunkirk!
CTP 218: Inception
2026/08/02
A podcast is the most difficult parasite to get rid of, and we're back with our review of Inception as part of our Christopher Nolan series! His 2010 blockbuster came on the heels of the mega success of The Dark Knight and just before his capper of the trilogy. Come back next episode for Interstellar!
CTP 217: The Prestige
2026/07/16
Are you listening closely? Because we're back with our next review in our Christopher Nolan series! Between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Nolan went back to 1890s England to look at the professional rivalry of two obsessed magicians. This is a personal favorite of ours, and we're very excited to break it down for you. Next up: Inception!
CTP 216: Memento
2026/07/05
Today we start our Selected Christopher Nolan series attempting to speed-run to The Odyssey as quickly as possible! Nolan's first non-micro budget feature, Memento, kicks us off. One of Conor's favorite movies, we break down the plot, structure, and what it all means. The rest of the series will consist of The Prestige, Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, Oppenheimer, and The Odyssey. Very excited to get this one started!
CTP 215: Disclosure Day
2026/06/25
We have made it to Disclosure Day! This marks the end of our Spielberg Through the Decades series with our 2020s pick, the new film in theaters. The film received mixed reviews from audiences, and pretty good notices from critics, but how did we feel it stacks up to Spielberg's filmography? Stay tuned to the end of the show to hear our rankings of all of Spielberg's films that we've seen. Next, we start our journey through the Selected Christopher Nolan Filmography with the film that put him on the map, Memento, then we'll follow that up with The Prestige!
CTP 214: The Fabelmans
2026/06/21
Bonus Episode! The Fabelmans represents a huge revelation point in Steven Spielberg's career as he directly looks at his own childhood. The film is starting to now be held up as an overlooked gem in his filmography, but do we agree? Come back for our 2020s pick for Spielberg Through the Decades as we wrap it up with Disclosure Day!
CTP 213: Lincoln
2026/06/18
Been a while since our last episode. Oops. We're back with our 2010s pick in our Spielberg Through the Decades series, Lincoln! This portrait of the 16th President garnered a lot of Academy Award attention in its day, but does it hold up now? Come back next episode for our bonus review of The Fabelmans before Disclosure Day!
CTP 212: A.I. Artificial Intelligence
2026/05/29
We're back with our 2000s pick in our Spielberg Through the Decades series, A.I. Artificial Intelligence! The project began as a film by Stanley Kubrick that Spielberg took over after Kubrick's death in 1999. Seen as an underrated gem in his filmography by many, the crew takes a look at the film in a modern lens with AI starting to take over every aspect of society. Come back next episode as we tackle the Daniel-Day Lewis lead film Lincoln from 2012!
CTP 211: Saving Private Ryan
2026/05/18
A long time passed between our '80s selection, E.T., and now our '90s selection, Saving Private Ryan, for our Spielberg Through the Decades series, including Spielberg winning Best Director at the Oscars. The film we're reviewing has become THE World War II movie that people think of in the last almost 30 years since it's release, but does it hold up? Next episode, we'll be covering his next film, from 2001 (and of his most beloved films), A.I. Artificial Intelligence!
CTP 210: E.T. The Extra Terrestrial
2026/05/12
We're back with Spielberg Through the Decades with our '80s selection, E.T. The Extra Terrestrial! Instead of us going with the aliens, the aliens come to us this time. This film lives in the hearts of many many audience members, but does it hold up for us who haven't seen it since we were small children? Come back next episode for our '90s selection, a much different film, Saving Private Ryan, followed by our '00s pick, A.I. Artificial Intelligence!
CTP 209: Close Encounters of the Third Kind
2026/05/07
We start our Spielberg Through the Decades series leading up to his new film, Disclosure Day, with his seminal 1977 film, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. This marks his first foray into alien encounters, but most certainly would not be his last. In fact, next episode for our '80s selection we will discuss E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Following that is our '90s pick, Saving Private Ryan!
CTP 208: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
2026/04/15
Wahoo! We're back with our continued series of reviewing the Super Mario Bros. films. The sequel to the 2023 smash film hit theaters last week, and we have our thoughts ready for you. Did this film elevate itself above the first film or fall flat on it's face? Come back next week as we start our Spielberg Through the Decades series with our 1970s pick, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
CTP 207: Scream 7
2026/03/30
A lot happened with the Scream franchise between VI and 7, and now we are here finally with our thoughts on the new film! After a quick recap of the events that led to this being the movie that we got, the gang breaks down the movie itself and whether we want to see this franchise continue with Scream 8 potentially. This wraps up our Scream series for now, assuming 8 takes a few years to get to the silver screen. Coming up next, we're going back to theaters for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie continuing our series from when the first Illumination film released!
CTP 206: Scream VI
2026/03/25
Only 14 months after the requel, we got a sequel to the requel with Scream VI. This time, Ghostface takes Manhattan after following the Carpenter sisters and the Meeks-Martin twins to the Big Apple. This turned out to be the last film with Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, and did we think they went out on a narrative high note? Come back next episode as we discuss the long dreaded follow up, Scream 7!
