Lance Johnson comes by way of a life of struggles having been trapped by the unrelenting grip of alcohol and drug addiction and the desperate life style that comes with it. Pastor Lance now reaches into depths of his experience to deliver a starkly real story of freedom by the power of God. Now he only looks back to encourage those that are lagging behind. He has spent almost a quarter of a century rescuing people from a background of death and ruin and introducing them to a life of prosperity and liberty. Lance has pioneered addiction recovery ministries as well as numerous churches. He has planted bible colleges and overseas mission works, thereby reaching people from every walk of life and social background. He has introduced vast numbers of people to a victorious, overcoming lifestyle. He is currently the founder and Senior Pastor of Relevate Church in Ranger GA. He is also the founder and teacher at Lions Gate Ministry Training Academy.

A Timely Message Part 2

When you give your life to Christ, you also give up the old ways of sin that you used to live in. He died a sinner's death in your place so you could be forgiven of everything you've ever done. In today's message, Bishop Lance will encourage you to live like you've been changed! You need to give up the old ways of sin and commit to living for God. Do His will, and watch out for sin trying to influence you to turn away from Him. How you live your life should make it evident to everyone that you've truly been changed.

A Timely Message Part 1

Sin should have no part in the life of a Christian. Once you give your life to Christ, you're a new creation, set free from the bondage of sin and death. It's been washed from your life, and you can live righteously for God. But, as Bishop Lance will tell you in today's message, sin is not powerless. When you go back to it, it will start to work in your life to bring undue suffering and separate you from God. But no matter what the sin, God is more powerful and can forgive you and free you from it when you turn to Him.

God draws near to those who draw near to Him. There's no limit to what He can do through the life of someone totally committed to Him.

Today, Bishop Lance is going to show you that, despite your past, you can be made new in Christ. You don't have to hold on to bitterness, resentment, or regret anymore. Jesus made a way for you to be forgiven of your shortcomings, and His Spirit can give you the strength to forgive others who wronged you. Your past doesn't have to determine who you are.

Jesus made a way for you to be forgiven of every sin and shortcoming in your life. He left Heaven, His home of glory and perfection, to come to earth and suffer at the hands of sinful people, even to the point of being sacrificed, so you could be freely forgiven. He made a way through His suffering for you to inherit eternal life. In today's message, Bishop Lance is going to make it clear that when you give your life to Jesus, sin can't have a place in your life anymore. Sin needs to be dead to you.

Completely in awe of Him and everything He has done and will do for you! Jesus wants you to seek Him to grow closer to Him. He is the way, the truth, and the life! Are you passively following Him, or are you actively pursuing Christ?

If I were to decide that I wanted to start a new career, I couldn’t just hop into it without any experience. I would need the training, possible schooling, and even certifications. Learning and growing take time and effort. In today’s message, Bishop Lance says that change doesn’t happen from a one-time event where you spontaneously decide to flip your life around. Following Christ and becoming more like Him happens when you make the decision to follow Him every day. It won’t be immediate, but it will happen!

Do you have a friend with whom you, over time, have become very alike? It’s a weird concept, but you’ll look like the people you’re closest to. In today’s message, Bishop Lance says that the Holy Spirit can and will flip your life upside down. When you surrender your life to Him, it’s a declaration that you’re going to live for Him, and with that comes a natural change guided by the Holy Spirit. And all of a sudden, you make different decisions, talk differently, and little by little, look more like Jesus.

Staying Filled Part 1

As humans, attachment is normal. We find something that we like, and it brings comfort, and we want it around for a while, but then one day, we realize that maybe we’ve outgrown it. In today’s message, Bishop Lance says that giving your life to God means giving ALL of your life to Him. There may be things that you want to hold onto because it’s comfortable and feels right, but if it’s against His Word, then it needs to go. As hard as it sounds, it’s the cost of laying your life down to Him. What’s something you struggle to surrender?

For some people, the most exhausting thing about socializing is feeling like there isn’t enough recovery time in between. It’s just a constant pouring out, and not enough pouring in. The same can go for faith as well. In today’s message, Bishop Lance says that it’s important to give time for yourself to grow deeper in Christ. Giving others your time and wisdom, and pouring out to them, can get exhausting when you aren’t spending enough alone time with God. How can you spend time with Him today?

Think about a chocolate fountain; nothing can come out of it until something is put into it. There cannot be a steady flow of chocolate unless there’s enough in it to keep it going. The same goes for faith; putting nothing into it will dry it out. In today’s message, Bishop Lance says that in order to continue your faith and keep a steady flow, you need to stay consistent in your Spiritual disciplines. Keep reading the Bible, keep praying, and keep close to Him, or the river will eventually dry out.

When a setback at work happens, the only response is to bounce back and work to prevent it from happening again. Setbacks are merely a speed bump, not a gaping hole that you disappear into. In today’s message, Bishop Lance reminds you that when life just constantly feels like a spiritual war, you know that you’re doing something right. When the enemy has a reason to try to throw you off, you’re doing something that’s offending him. Don’t let it discourage you; persevere in it and grow in your faith!

There are some bugs I see that always make me go, “Why does this even exist?” As much as I don’t like particular bugs, I always remind myself that they were created with intention, just like you are. In today’s message, Bishop Lance says that the same way God created you to be on earth is the same way He has planned for you to live out the time you’re alive. After accepting Christ, you have an assignment to live out. Even when you may feel worthless, remember that He has something perfectly curated for you.

In a relationship, it’s really easy not to voice what you want and what your needs are. But your partner can’t read your mind. How will that person know what you need and desire if you don’t communicate it? This is much like prayer. In today’s message, Bishop Lance says that things can’t change without seeking God. If you’re not praying without ceasing, things will never progress. Your communication with God is powerful; without prayer, you’ll never be as close to God as you’d like.
