Ep 469: September New Releases, In Review
2026/09/30
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach Kazan and Zach Weiss sit down to talk about a string of new releases from brands both large and small. New watches from Rolex and Hublot (with Jeff Koons) were the big headline grabbers in September, but there were also interesting new watches from Grand Seiko, H. Moser (their most affordable watch ever, and it’s digital) as well as a deep cut Swedish indie.
Let us know in the comments what caught your eye in September, and what you thought of the marquee releases discussed in this episode.

Ep 468: A Look Back with Kat Shoulders
2026/09/23
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach Kazan is joined by Kat Shoulders for her final episode as a member of the Worn & Wound team. As Kat prepares for what’s next, she sits down for a conversation covering her time at Worn & Wound, some of the projects and experiences that stand out, and a few memorable stories involving scorpions, snakes, and other assorted wildlife.

Ep 467: Poking Holes in Watch Industry Conventional Wisdom
2026/09/16
This week on the podcast, Zach Kazan and Kat Shoulders are interrogating some watch industry conventional wisdom. There’s a lot of it out there. From the idea that it’s the “story” that matters most in a watch, to the principle of “buying what you love,” and even the idea that everyone needs a certain type of watch in their collection. This is a fun conversation and Zach and Kat definitely poke some holes in some watch industry ideas that perhaps don’t stand up completely to close scrutiny. Let us know in the comments if we’re on the right track!
And stay tuned until the end of the pod for some great cultural recs from Zach and Kat, including a produce recommendation from Kat (a first on the podcast) and one of Zach’s most watched trailers ever for a movie that looks absolutely insane.

Ep 466: The Geneva Watch Days Debrief
2026/09/09
Zach Kazan and Zach Weiss are back from Geneva, and breaking down their experience at this year’s Geneva Watch Days in this episode of the Worn & Wound podcast. From overall impressions of the show, to favorite watches, and even meeting Jiro Katayama, it was a very full week in an unseasonably warm Geneva (seriously, it was really hot).
Let us know what you thought of this year’s Geneva Watch Days releases in the comments, or tag us on Instagram.

Ep 465: Doug LaViolette & Brian’s Sheffield
2026/09/02
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach Kazan and Kat Shoulders welcome Doug LaViolette. Doug is the founder of the Brian LaViolette Scholarship Foundation, and recently collaborated with Sheffield on a new watch that honors his late son, Brian, and raises money for the foundation named for him, which has awarded thousands of scholarships to students all over the world. Doug tells us the story of his son, what the foundation has accomplished and hopes to accomplish in the future, and of course all about the watch itself. Mostly though, this is a conversation about community, and the great ways that watches and the people in this hobby can accomplish worthwhile things.

Ep 464: Watches We Were Wrong About
2026/08/26
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach Kazan and Cait Bazemore are holding themselves accountable and talking about the watches they were wrong about. After years of collecting and working in the watch industry, Zach and Cait have both realized there have been times when they were just plain wrong about a watch, or a preconceived notion about watches in general. In the spirit of reflection, this conversation focuses on watches we misjudged – things we liked and now don’t, or vice-versa. There’s also some discussion here about principles we’ve held that we’ve come around on in one way or another. It’s a fun conversation, and of course we welcome your input: what have you been wrong about in your time in this hobby? Let us know in the comments!

Ep 463: How Collections Evolve
2026/08/19
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach Kazan welcomes Zach Weiss to the podcast for an old-fashioned discussion on the nature of collecting. Specifically, they’re talking about how their taste has evolved over the course of years. They drill down on how working in the industry, being exposed to a huge variety of watches, and the simple nature of time have changed their thoughts on what’s appealing, and what’s not. They also get pretty granular on specific watches from their collections’ past that represent a different era of their collecting journey, and reflect on why they’ve moved on, and what proved to be the catalyst for their moves.

Ep 462: Summer Review Roundup: Sinn, Moser, the DWC Terra, and More
2026/08/12
This week on the podcast, Zach Kazan is joined by Zach Weiss and Ed Jelley to talk about some of the watches they’ve each had in for review over these last few months. The summer is traditionally a slow time for the watch industry, so we took the opportunity to get as many review samples in the office as possible, and there have been a bunch of standouts. The conversation kicks off with a recap of Zach W’s review of the Otsuka Lotec No. 8, which Zach K. has been wearing a lot as well. And then Ed discusses his experience with the DWC Terra, an ultra-affordable field watch from India that has been having a bit of a viral moment as Ed prepares his review. Zach K. talks about a Moser that is (perhaps) a symbol of a changing brand, and Zach W. gets into details on a Sinn that feels like the opposite, a return to the brand’s roots.
Let us know in the comments if there are any new (or old!) watches you’d like to see us give the full hands-on review treatment.

Time on Screen: The Odyssey
2026/08/07
This week, a special, epic edition of Time on Screen on the most epic movie of the year: The Odyssey. We weren’t going to miss an opportunity to talk about the biggest movie of the year by one of our favorite filmmakers. Zach Kazan is joined by Kat Shoulders, Garrett Jones, and Ricardo Sime to talk about their favorite moments from the film, how it stands up to Nolan’s other work, and more.
In the back half of the episode, Kyle Snarr talks to Hamilton CEO Francesca Ginocchio about the new Khaki Field Auto The Odyssey Limited Edition. They discuss the concept behind the watch, Christopher Nolan’s longstanding relationship with Hamilton, and more. Huge thanks to Hamilton for sponsoring this episode of Time on Screen!

Our Favorite Watches Under $1,000
2026/08/05
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach Kazan is joined by Kat Shoulders and Cait Bazemore for what might be, according to some, an exercise in futility: identifying three watches (each) under $1,000 that have been released this year. With all the chatter about rising prices (and Geneva Watch Days coming up, an event not known for its orientation toward value) the team thought it would be worthwhile to identify some truly affordable watches that have come to market recently. What they’ve come up with is a good mix of some of the usual suspects, as well as some surprising newcomers.
We also have our usual cultural recommendations, including a directive from our friend Mark Cho to participate in his Ideal Watch Size survey which can be found hereand closes on Saturday evening. You can find links to our previous coverage of this survey from past years below. It’s always valuable and provides a ton of insight into our perceptions on what’s big, small, and somewhere in between.

Unwinding: Lorier
2026/07/30
The word has been out for a little over a week, but in case you missed the news, Worn & Wound acquired Lorier. We’re super excited about it. Before the news went public (save for a small leak), Blake, James, and Zach sat down with Lauren and Lorenzo Ortega, the founders of Lorier, to discuss the acquisition. It’s a very open, honest conversation about what led up to the decision as well as about our goals now that we are working together.

Editor’s Note: we had some audio issues on this recording and apologize for the rough patches.
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, it’s once again time to answer your questions submitted through Instagram and our Worn & Wound+ Slack channel. Zach Kazan is joined by Garrett Jones and Zach Weiss to talk about the usual wide ranging topics of interest to our listeners and readers. Among them: managing our growing collections, the state of Omega, our favorite types of cheese for sandwiches, milestone watches we’d never sell, and our favorite movies of the year so far. There are, as always, plenty of digressions along the way, including a dive into Garrett’s energy drink habit, and an update on OraOrea.
We’ll do another Q&A episode in about a month!

Ep 459: How to Know When to Upgrade Your Camera
2026/07/22
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Garrett Jones, Worn & Wound’s Lead Photographer, joins Zach to discuss something many of us have quietly (and sometimes loudly) wondered about: how do I know when it’s time to upgrade my camera? And what about all of our other gear? How do we know when we’re just justifying a gear purchase in the flimsiest way, versus timing an upgrade strategically? Zach and Garrett get into the weeds on how they think about upgrading cameras, EDC gear, and even watches.
Before that, Garrett updates us on his recent excursion with Tudor and the Flying Bulls, and once in a lifetime aviation experience over Manhattan.

Ep 458: Georgia Benjamin on Social Media, Design, and Degendering Watches
2026/07/15
This week on the podcast, Zach Kazan and Kat Shoulders are joined by Georgia Benjamin, who by day works in design at Adobe, but by night (and probably all around the clock, frankly) has become quite a force in the watch world. By the numbers, she is among the most followed female watch personalities on social media, and has become a fixture in the broader enthusiast and collecting community. Georgia talks to us about what drew her to watches, how her career at Adobe informs her interest in watches, the growing influence of women in the watch enthusiast space, and why degendering watches is so important in the watch space.
