We believe that to be saved, sinners must be regenerated or born again; that regeneration consists in giving a holy disposition to the mind; that it is effected in a manner above our comprehension by the power of the Holy Spirit and independent of divine truth; and is evidenced in the holy fruit of faith and repentance and newness of life.

Today we are going to see that our Lord goes beyond the scope of just adultery of the heart to that of the act of adultery after divorce. We play the little game that if we get divorced, I have the right to remarry. And, at least as far as Christians are concerned, we find validation in Deut. 24:1-2 for remarriage; a comfort where there is no comfort; a false and invalid validation to justify sin.

John Gill in his commentary most eloquently said, the first and chief over all persons, angels, and men; having a superior nature, name, and place, than the former, and being the firstborn among many brethren designed by the latter: and in all things he is the first, and has the precedence and primacy; in sonship, no one is a Son in the sense he is; in election, he was chosen first, and his people in him; in the covenant, he is the surety, Mediator, and messenger of it, he is that itself; in his human nature, he is fairer than the children of men; in redemption, he was alone, and wrought it out himself; in life, he exceeded all others in purity, in doctrine, and miracles; and in dying he conquered death, and rose first from it; in short, he died, revived, and rose again, that he might be Lord both of dead and living; and he ought to have the pre-eminence and first place in the affections of our hearts, in the contemplations of our minds, in the desires of our souls, and in the highest praises of our lips.

This Article appeals to the mind of men for it teaches that man has a duty to believe, a duty to have obedient faith and be penitent towards God. If man has a duty, then it is incumbent that he must also have the ability to fulfill that duty. Does this ability flow from the will of man? How is there a duty to perform without the means to perform it, unless we believe that every man has the means to believe to the saving of his soul. That in every man lies the spark of faith that can be ignited by preaching and by the fanning of the Holy Spirit to bring everlasting life to that man. Why, such thoughts are contrary to the Holy Scripture, for all men lie in darkness and have not the faith of Jesus Christ. Duty faith removes and need of GRACE!

If you cut off your right hand what can your right hand do that your left hand cannot also learn to do? Jesus is not speaking to the mutilation of the body but rather the matter of the heart because if you plucked out both your eyes you will grope after sin with your hands, and if you cut off your hands you will run after sin with your feet, and if you cut off your feet you would crawl like a worm after sin.

Do we, as Christians fear God. Not be frighten of God, but fear Him?

The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is the pattern of sin. It was the pattern for the temptation of Eve; the pattern of Christ's temptation and the pattern of sin in our own lives.

It is Christ that is made to us wisdom, and he the author and cause of all spiritual wisdom. He is made unto us righteousness, that is he satisfied the righteous law of God and made satisfaction to it that we might be justified from all sin, discharged from all condemnation and brought into the holiness of his nature. Christ's righteousness being reckoned, accounted to us as our justification. He is our sanctification, that by the imputation of the holiness of his nature, the merits of his blood, and the efficacy of his grace in a covenant relationship we are set aside and kept holy and brought to perfection. Christ is our redemption having obtained eternal redemption from sin, Satan, the law, and this present evil world.

When we worship, either privately or publicly or corporately, our worship will not be acceptable while there is unresolved resentment, envy, anger or any malice towards another in our heart, it is an offering blemished by our sin.

This kingdom in which we have been translated is not something future, something to look forward to in the resurrection, No! we are in possession of the Kingdom right now. In fact the Aorist indicative is used, the timeless verb form teaching us that we are now in that Kingdom by a singular event,
