It's official, Torquay United are ripping up the cup competitions this season - with wins in the FA Cup and Devon Bowl in the last week, and the draw for the Trophy to come. Just as we were celebrating England's win against DR Congo at the World Cup, the biggest news of the day was dropped by Torquay United - that Deon Moore had signed a two-year deal to remain with the club. Was he? Wasn't he? That was the story of the summer after manager Jimmy Ball offered the striker a contract at the end of last season - after he scored eight goals in 10 days. Those goals almost led Torquay to promotion - but Moore couldn't do it all by himself, and eventually the dream was over. Just over a week ago Ball said he thought the dream of Moore signing was also done ... but then this!
