Lego products and playsets have been a part of a lot of our collective childhoods in some way, and now that we’re older, it’s only grown with us! The Brickworld conventions in particular are a great way to interact with the Lego community as artists show off their works, building competitions are held, and products that are sometimes difficult to find are offered for sale. It’s a fun experience for the whole family, no matter your age, and absolutely worth a visit if you happen to be close to one of their events! Disney seems like it’s buying up just about everything these days, and we’re here to talk specifically about what it’s now offering on its streaming service, plus what’s to come! Classic monster movies like the original Godzilla were made to explore themes concerning the risks of nuclear armaments and humanity’s impact on nature. Today, however, our cultural concerns have shifted and evolved over time, and with that, our movies have as well. This week, Teegan & Lindsay talk about recent films that reflect that, whether the message is more on the nose like in Don’t Look Up, or when it’s a more subtle commentary on humanity’s interference in nature ala Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Now that the series has concluded, Teegan and Lindsay take a look at The Book of Boba Fett and discuss their feelings on it. We’re back from our holiday break and ready to talk about Spider-Man: No Way Home! With 2016‘s flop of an entry, Ghostbusters fans could be forgiven for being leery of yet another entry to the franchise. With the son of the original director behind the helm, however - and the family of Harold Ramis on board - Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a far different story. It‘s been a long while since we‘ve done one of these episodes, but we‘re back talking about our favourite actors and their careers! And this go round, since he‘s been on the brain lately, we‘re discussing Brendan Fraser‘s particular body of work. From 90‘s classics like Airheads and Encino Man, to his more recent ventures in Titans and Doom Patrol, he‘s covered a lot of varied ground. From the action/adventure side with entries like The Mummy and Journey to the Center of the Earth, to more dramatic and serious roles like Inkheart, Brendan has a wide range that is deserving of appreciation, and we can‘t wait to see what else he‘ll do. Since the first novel was published in 1965, Dune has captured the hearts and imaginations of fans the world over. There have been a few visual adaptations of Frank Herbert‘s work - from the 1984 movie to the 2000 miniseries - and with the release of the 2021 movie, we take a chance to talk about the story and how it‘s been told over time.
