News: New details have been released for the next Disneyland After Dark event! Star Wars Nite tickets went on sale for Inspire level Magic Key Holders Tuesday, February 20th, with other Magic Key Holder pre-sales happening on Wednesday and Thursday the 21st and 22nd. The general public can get tickets starting Friday, February 23 no earlier than 9am Disneyland time. There will be a new “notify me” option for the virtual queue that will email you when your window to order has arrived. The Cast Member union effort calling itself “Magic United” will be represented by the Actors’ Equity Association – a union who currently represents performers and stage managers at Disney World, Broadway, and in many live theater productions in the US. Magic United will include entertainment cast members, which includes theatrical, parade, and character performers. There are some attractions that are coming back soon. News: The future of the Disneyland Resort has taken another step forward last week. DisneylandForward had a workshop with the Anaheim City Council where some more details were laid out. Disney proposes to invest $1.9 billion on attractions, entertainment, lodging, and retail within 10 years of approval, along with up to $90 million to update city streets and improve streets near the parks. $30 million will be used over five years for affordable housing, $8 million for Anaheim park improvements in the first year, and funding of worker education, development, and recruiting programs. The next steps are a planning commission workshop in February, with a hearing in March, and a City Council hearing in May. – DisneylandForward ➡ Charting The Course For Future Adventures! Over at the Haunted Mansion, walls are up from Tiana’s Palace all the way to Critter Country for construction of the expanded queue and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Trees have been cut down in front of the New Orleans Square train station, between Tiana’s Palace and the Haunted Mansion. News: Ken Potrock revealed a new nametag design coming for Cast Members at the resort. The new design goes back to the first name of the Cast Member and their “hometown.” The logo at the top is a colorful design, featuring Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Pixar Pal-a-Round and the vintage Disneyland Resort sign used at the Disneyland Hotel currently. Eight nights of Sweethearts Nite in late January and early February, a new Disney Channel Nite has two dates on March 5th and 7th, eight Star Wars Nites in April and early May, and Pride Nite for two dates in June. Tickets go on sale to the general public on December 14th no earlier than 9am Pacific time.
