Who We Are: #3 - Dependence
2026/08/30
Tom Logue - August 30th 2026
What would your life look like if you really believed Jesus when He said, “Apart from me you can do nothing”?
As we continue exploring Who We Are and the values that shape our church, we come to our third value: Dependence. Like a child depends on a loving father, followers of Jesus were made to live in continual dependence on God—not relying on our own strength, wisdom, or resources.
In John 15, Jesus gives us the picture of the vine and the branches and repeatedly calls His disciples to remain in Him. To stay with Him. To live every part of life aware of His presence, seeking His guidance, and relying on His power. Because self-reliance doesn't lead to freedom—it leads to withering. But when we remain with Jesus, He produces the spiritual fruit in us that we could never produce on our own.
Jesus didn't just teach this kind of dependence—He modeled it. And for those who are in Christ, the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now lives in us.
What might change if, instead of relying on yourself, you learned to stay with Jesus and depend on Him in everything you do?

Who We Are: #2 - Family
2026/08/23
Tom Logue - August 23rd 2026
What does it actually mean to belong to the family of God?
We all long for deep, meaningful, lasting relationships. Yet our experiences of family can look very different. For some, family is a place of trust and belonging. For others, it carries wounds, disappointment, or even a sense that something is missing.
Jesus points us toward something deeper: a family that goes beyond biology or simply gathering with people who are like us. Through faith in Jesus, God becomes our Father, and His people become brothers and sisters—a redeemed family learning to enjoy Jesus, obey Jesus, and become more like Him together.
That means Christianity was never intended to be lived anonymously or in isolation. The church isn't simply a building, a Sunday gathering, or another organization we participate in. We were made to be known, loved, formed, and united as the family of God.
And when that kind of family becomes visible, Jesus says the world takes notice.
What would change if you stopped seeing church as something you attend and started living as though these people really are your family?

Who We Are: #1 - Gospel
2026/08/16
Tom Logue - August 16th 2026
What we value shapes who we are, how we live, and what we do—so what deserves to be at the center?
Every person, every family, and every church has values. Not just the values we claim on paper, but the things that actually shape the way we live. And as Restored Church begins a new series exploring Who We Are, we’re starting with the value that everything else revolves around: the gospel of Jesus.
But the gospel can become so familiar that we forget what it actually means for our lives.
It isn’t advice about how to become a better person or a religious system for earning God’s approval. It’s joyful good news about what Jesus has already done: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.
And if that news is true, it changes everything. How we understand our failures. Where we find our worth. How we face fear, insecurity, suffering, work, relationships, and even our own sin.
The gospel isn’t simply something Christians believe when they first come to Jesus. It’s the truth we never move on from.

Who in your life is God putting on your heart right now?
When Paul walked through Athens, he saw a city full of idols—and his heart was deeply distressed. But that burden didn't lead him to condemn the people around him. It moved him toward them with compassion.
Paul showed up. He listened. He asked questions. He built relationships. And when the opportunity came, he proclaimed the truth about Jesus and the resurrection.
We may never stand on Mars Hill surrounded by philosophers, but we all have places where God has already put people in front of us: our workplaces, neighborhoods, kids' practices, coffee shops, and dinner tables. The question is whether we're willing to engage them.
You don't have to force an outcome or have every answer. You can love people, listen well, share the good news, and trust the Holy Spirit with what happens next.
So who is God putting on your heart—and how will you engage them?

What do you do with the guilt, shame, and mess you simply cannot wash away yourself?
We all carry things we wish we could undo—choices we can't unmake, words we can't take back, wounds that still cling to us. Our instinct may be to clean ourselves up, hide what we're ashamed of, or prove that we're still worthy. But Jesus offers something radically different.
On the night before the cross, the King of Kings knelt down and took His disciples' dirty feet into His own hands. Even knowing their failures, denial, and betrayal, Jesus moved toward the mess rather than away from it.
Grace can be difficult to receive because it requires admitting that we need what only Jesus can give. But once we've been loved and cleansed by Him, that grace isn't meant to stop with us. It changes how we see the overlooked, the inconvenient, and the people we'd rather leave for someone else to love.
Who are you willing to kneel to serve because Jesus first knelt for you?

What if the greatest obstacle between you and God isn't your weakness—but the illusion that you're doing just fine?
Most of us would never say we're self-sufficient. But it's possible to become so busy, comfortable, capable, and familiar with church that we slowly stop living with the desperate dependence that marks a life with Christ.
The story of a widow with nothing but a small jar of oil reveals something surprising about the heart of God. His provision isn't limited by His ability to give—it's often limited by our willingness to receive. The question isn't whether God is enough. The question is whether we've made room for Him.
If you've ever felt spiritually dry, distracted, or found yourself going through the motions of faith, this message is an invitation to pause, examine what has crowded your heart, and rediscover the joy of daily dependence on Jesus.
God isn't looking for impressive people. He's looking for available ones. And His grace is still greater than your need.

2026/07/05
Mike Harrelson - July 5th 2026
What if the greatest threat to your faith isn't rejecting God... but quietly giving something else your heart?
Most idols don't look like statues or shrines. They look like success, comfort, approval, control, security, or the endless pursuit of "just a little more." They promise life, significance, and satisfaction—but they never deliver what they promise.
The Bible tells a story that's surprisingly familiar. It's possible to acknowledge God while slowly giving our deepest loyalty to something else. The result isn't freedom—it's a divided heart, a restless soul, and a life shaped by competing affections.
This message invites us to honestly examine what has captured our hearts and discover why the gospel is more than behavior modification. Jesus didn't come merely to expose our idols—He came to break their power. His love offers a greater affection than anything this world can offer and the freedom to become who God created us to be.
If you've ever felt trapped by ambition, approval, control, comfort, or anything that seems to own your heart, this message is an invitation to lay it down and discover the freedom only Christ can give.

The King & His Kingdom: #106 - True Love | Matthew 22:34-40
2026/06/28
Tom Logue - June 28th 2026
The greatest command isn't about trying harder—it's about learning what real love actually is.
We use the word love for everything. We love coffee, hobbies, family, success, comfort, and even God. But what if we've confused biblical love with something far smaller? What if we've mistaken good behavior for genuine devotion?
Jesus was asked to identify the single greatest commandment, and His answer reaches far beyond rules or religious performance. It exposes what's happening beneath the surface of our lives and invites us to discover the kind of love that transforms not only our actions, but our hearts.
This message confronts the subtle ways we settle for outward obedience while missing the deeper relationship God desires. It also reveals the breathtaking reality that before we're ever called to love God, we are first deeply, sacrificially, and completely loved by Him through Jesus.
If you've ever wondered whether God truly loves you, struggled to love Him wholeheartedly, or found yourself going through the motions of faith, this message offers an invitation back to the center of it all.

What if everything you've been living for is far too small compared to what's actually waiting for you?
Most of us spend our lives consumed by what's right in front of us—our schedules, struggles, relationships, fears, and ambitions. But what if we've forgotten the reality that changes everything?
Jesus confronts a question about life after death, but His answer reaches much deeper than curiosity about heaven. It exposes what can quietly happen to all of us: living as though the unseen isn't real, letting our lives be shaped by everything except the voice of God, and settling for a vision of eternity that's far too small.
If you've wrestled with fear of death, wondered whether heaven can really satisfy the deepest longings of your heart, or found yourself drifting spiritually without realizing it, this message invites you to lift your eyes again.
The power of God is greater than your imagination. Death is not the end. Heaven is not a downgrade. And the future Jesus has prepared for those who trust Him is more glorious than anything this world can offer.
