Why You Can't Rest: 3 Traps Strong Men Fall Into
2026/10/02
Some men are exhausted because they've become really good at carrying.Join the Better Than Best Brotherhood:https://www.skool.com/better-than-best-academy-5909/aboutApply for the Redprint hot Seat Coaching: https://forms.gle/YYDG3Qsa8tQS6ELbAYou solve problems. You provide. You think ahead. You push through. People depend on you. Then responsibility starts turning into control. Learning keeps you from acting. Being needed gets tangled up with being valuable. You sit down to rest and immediately feel guilty because part of you still believes everything might fall apart if you stop moving.I've been confronting this in myself. In this video, we're talking about the dark side of being the strong one and how to recognize when a good strength has started costing you peace, presence, and the people closest to you. We'll get into:• carrying responsibility that was never yours • using activity to deal with uncertainty • trying to earn peace through progress • tying your value to achievement and usefulness • finding your identity in Christ while still working hard and taking responsibilityCHAPTERS:00:00 When Strength Hurts00:25 Muscle That Won't Release01:35 Strength Without Boundaries02:41 Capability Versus Calling03:36 Carry Or Put Down04:29 Trap Of More05:56 Consistency Over Intensity06:39 Count The Cost08:05 Productivity As Avoidance09:30 Faith Without Full Clarity11:24 Achievement As Identity13:27 Being Needed Trap14:54 Coaching Invitation16:20 Peace Through Progress17:29 Jesus Gives Rest19:10 Three Question Challenge20:33 True Strength Is Release21:04 Final EncouragementBefore the video ends, I want you to sit with these questions:What am I carrying that God never asked me to carry? What do I keep doing because it makes me feel more in control? If I stopped trying to prove myself for the next 30 days, what would change?Your family doesn't need you to carry everything. They need you present enough to know what matters.
If You’re Drowning, Reach for the Hand
2026/09/25
Some men don’t drown because nobody offered to help. They drown because they’re trying to look strong while swallowing water. You’re the one people depend on. You handle the pressure. You solve the problems. You carry the responsibility. But what happens when something becomes bigger than you know how to carry? For a lot of men, the answer is silence. We research more. Work harder. Pray vaguely. Delay the conversation. Convince ourselves we’re being patient, responsible, or strong… when underneath it all, fear may be making the decisions. In this video, we’re talking about what secrecy actually costs, why asking for help can feel so threatening, how to choose someone safe enough to tell the truth to, and exactly what to say when you don’t know how to start the conversation.I’ll also give you four sentences you can use when you finally sit down with someone:“Here’s what happened.”“Here’s what I’m afraid it means.”“Here’s what I’ve been doing to avoid it.”“Here’s the decision or conversation I need to face.”CHAPTERS:Real strength isn't pretending you're fine while you're drowning. Learn how to stop the cycle of silence in men's mental health. You carry the weight of responsibility, solve every problem, and handle the pressure. But secrecy has a cost. Many men internalize their struggles because we fear appearing weak, yet this silence often prevents us from finding the support we need. We must learn to move past the instinct to isolate ourselves when life gets heavy.Breaking the pattern of overcoming isolation requires choosing safe people to trust. I am sharing four specific sentences you can use to start a conversation when you feel overwhelmed. True strength looks like reaching for a hand that is already offered, and then turning around to become that support for another. Prioritizing asking for help is not a sign of failure; it is the path to becoming the strong men we are called to be.If you are looking for a place to have these honest conversations, join the Brotherhood below. Why You Need to Stop Believing This Lie About Yourself
2026/09/18
What label have you been living under?Failure. Angry. Undisciplined. Fatherless. Addicted. Broken. Too far gone.Your past may explain parts of your story—but it does not have the authority to decide who you are.In this video, we look at John 1:45–46 and Nathanael’s question about Jesus: “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” One label almost caused him to dismiss what God was doing right in front of him.And we can do the same thing to ourselves.Maybe you’ve spent years allowing your family history, failures, wounds, sins, or reputation to become your identity. But there is a difference between acknowledging what happened and allowing what happened to name you.For the man who belongs to Christ, your identity is not something you earn through better performance. It is something you receive through grace—and then learn to walk out through obedience. In this video, I’ll give you a simple three-step process to begin breaking the labels you’ve been living under:1. Name it.2. Test it against the truth.3. Obey differently.Grace removes condemnation—but it does not remove responsibility. You don’t have to rebuild your entire life today. Take one act of obedience that agrees with the man God is calling you to become. If this message helped you, share it with another brother who needs to hear it.👇 Take the Present Provider Assessment below and discover where you are strong, where you may be drifting, and what your next step should be. https://forms.gle/95Q5bSdNHjLdgbkv8Subscribe for more biblical encouragement and practical guidance for becoming a present husband, father, leader, and man of God.Scriptures discussed:John 1:45–461 Corinthians 61 Peter 1#ChristianMen #IdentityInChrist #BiblicalManhood
I Got What I Prayed For… And Hated What It Cost Me
2026/09/11
What happens when you get exactly what you prayed for… and it makes you feel replaceable? For years, I was one of the people my church needed behind the drums. Then the team grew. New drummers came in. They got better. The ministry became healthier. And suddenly, they didn’t need me as much. That should have felt like success.Instead, it exposed something in me.I didn’t just enjoy being useful. Part of my identity had become attached to being needed.Maybe you know that feeling. You’re the provider. The fixer. The leader. The dependable one.The person everybody calls when something goes wrong. Those can all be good things—but what happens when your usefulness becomes the thing proving your worth? In this video, we’re talking about:• Why someone else’s growth can sometimes feel threatening• The difference between being needed, useful, wanted, and loved• How our identity can quietly become attached to our role• Why delegation and multiplication can expose insecurity• What John 15 and Ephesians 2 teach us about belonging and fruit• How to celebrate someone who gets the opportunity you wanted• Why losing a role doesn’t mean losing your worth• Three questions to help uncover where your identity has become tangled with what you doGod may reduce your role without reducing your worth.Your children becoming capable without you, someone you trained becoming better than you, or a team you built functioning without you doesn’t automatically mean you’ve become irrelevant.Sometimes, that’s what faithful leadership and legacy actually look like. You were created to bear fruit. You were never meant to make the fruit the root of who you are.👇 PRESENT PROVIDER ASSESSMENT:https://forms.gle/pixHy6AzSFiaPTFw8If this hit somewhere personal, tell me in the comments:“If they no longer needed me to __________, I’m afraid it would mean __________.”Let’s live faithful—not FOR identity, but FROM identity. Now go live better and best. The World is Training You to See Everything Wrong
2026/09/10
What have you trained yourself to look for? Right now, the world is very good at showing us what’s wrong. Broken families. Struggling kids. Failing marriages. Angry politics. Weak men. A divided Church. AI. Outrage. Fear. Bad news everywhere. The trash business is booming. But what if followers of Jesus are supposed to see differently? A gold miner doesn’t ignore the dirt. He simply knows the dirt isn’t all that’s there. In this episode of Better Than Best Academy, we’re talking about cynicism, hope, Psalm 139, spiritual refinement, parenting, marriage, men, and what happens when we ask God to teach us to see beneath the surface. “Search me, O God, and know my heart.” Before God teaches us to find the gold in other people, He starts digging in us. And when He does, it requires us to stay HOT: Humble.Open.Transparent. Speaking off apply for you chance to be in the HOT SEAT HERE: https://forms.gle/FHYgVqJGLown88dp7 Because we can’t ask God to refine us and then get offended by the temperature. My challenge for you this week is simple: Stop collecting trash. Choose one person—your spouse, your child, a friend, a student, a coworker, maybe even yourself—and ask God: “Show me the gold.” Then when you see it, call it out. The world can keep screaming that the sky is falling. We’ll keep digging. God is still working. And hope is still rising. 👇 QUESTION FOR YOU:Who is one person you need to start seeing differently this week? You Can’t Serve God and Money—Here’s What Jesus Meant
2026/08/28
What if your bank statement could reveal something about your relationship with God? In Luke 16:9–13, Jesus makes an uncomfortable connection between money, faithfulness, and worship. He doesn’t say you can’t have money and serve God. He says you cannot serve both God and money. So how do you know when money has stopped being a tool and started becoming your master? In this video, we walk through 3 tests that expose what money may be revealing about your heart: What are you asking money to give you? What happens when your money feels threatened? What are you doing with what God has already placed in your hands? We’ll also use the Redprint framework to help you recognize what money is exposing, reorganize the lies underneath it, rediscover what is true, rebuild your financial habits, and refine the way you steward what God has given you. Before this video ends, I’m going to challenge you to do something practical: open your real bank or credit card statement and look at the last seven days. Then finish this sentence: “My money shows me that I’ve been trusting ______.” This is not prosperity gospel. It’s not about believing that if you handle $100 correctly, God owes you $100,000. It’s about stewardship. Money can be a useful servant—but it was never designed to be your savior. If this challenged you, comment below: Which of the three tests exposed the most for you? “There are really no failures in life. There are just people that give up.” - Bill Quateman
2026/08/21
What does it take to build a meaningful life when the path doesn’t go according to plan?In this episode of the Better Than Best Academy, Red Wallace sits down with Bill Quateman for a wide-ranging conversation about fatherhood, discipline, reinvention, entrepreneurship, health, service, and becoming the man life is calling you to become.Bill shares lessons from his journey through the music industry, publishing, business, parenting, and regenerative health—including being signed during the Clive Davis era at Columbia Records, publishing his own book after facing rejection, and eventually building a career focused on helping others live healthier lives. We talk about why fathers sometimes need to be both a willow and an oak, why “no” can be an expression of love, the importance of teaching children to sit still in a world filled with distraction, and why the obstacles in your life may actually be developing the person you need to become.Bill also shares one of the principles that has shaped his life:“There are really no failures in life. There are just people that give up.”In this conversation, we cover:- Why discipline gives young men direction- Being a strong “rudder” for your children- Why the hardest thing to do may be nothing- Meditation and learning to sit in silence- Failure, resilience, and refusing to quit- Reinventing yourself when life changes direction- Why creativity and business require different mindsets- Serving something bigger than yourself- Finding the courage to do hard things- Thinking about longevity, health, and “peak span”- Why your goals must begin with knowing what you actually want- The importance of living from loveCHAPTERS:00:00 No Failures Mindset01:03 Welcome and Guest Intro01:43 Music Backgrounds Connect02:51 Young Bill and Beatles Spark06:19 Discipline and Focus Lessons07:46 Parenting Boundaries Today13:09 Love and Quiet Practice16:41 Clive Davis Breakthrough19:04 Service Over Showbiz22:48 From Music to Publishing24:56 Oprah Call to Health Pivot26:22 Writing With Purpose27:21 Books As Business28:41 Creative Meets CEO31:53 Embrace The Hard33:58 Ego And Flow34:59 Health Origin Story37:07 Peakspan And Metabolism40:16 First Steps At 3343:41 Connect And Testing45:00 Lightning Round Wisdom47:57 Final Quote And FarewellLearn more about Bill and Advanced BioCell: https://advancedbiocell.comIf you’re a Christian husband, father, leader, or builder who wants to become better in the areas of life that matter most, subscribe to the Better Than Best Academy.Comment below: What is one difficult season of your life that ultimately made you stronger?
Your Bad Habit Isn’t the Real Problem
2026/08/14
You keep getting defensive. You overwork. You procrastinate. You escape into your phone. You lose your temper—and even when you promise yourself you’ll change, the same negative patterns keep coming back. For Christian men trying to grow in their marriage, faith, leadership, and emotional health, simply trying harder isn’t always enough. In this video, we’ll look at why you keep repeating the same patterns, what may be underneath defensiveness, anger, overworking, procrastination, and phone addiction, and how God can transform more than just your behavior. Sometimes the habit isn’t the deepest problem. Your defensiveness may be protecting a fear of failure.Your overworking may be tied to believing your worth comes from what you accomplish.Your phone may be helping you avoid discomfort, loneliness, or emotions you don’t know how to sit with. You can change the behavior while leaving the root untouched. That’s why real Christian personal growth requires more than behavior modification. It requires allowing God to reveal what the behavior may be protecting, proving, avoiding, or trying to control. In this video, I’ll walk you through a simple three-step process: SEARCH — RESPOND — REMAIN SEARCH: Go beneath the behavior and ask what is really happening inside you. RESPOND: Choose one faithful action instead of automatically repeating the old pattern. REMAIN: Stay present when discomfort makes you want to defend yourself, withdraw, escape, or return to what feels familiar. If you’ve been wondering how to stop being defensive, how to break bad habits, how to become a better husband, or why you keep repeating the same mistakes, this process can help you move from temporary behavior change toward deeper spiritual formation. God isn’t merely interested in making you look better on the outside. He wants to form the man underneath it all—a man who can receive correction without collapsing, lead without controlling, rest without feeling worthless, be present without constantly escaping, and love without always defending himself. You Don’t Need More Information—You Need This
2026/08/07
What if the personal development content you’re consuming isn’t helping you grow—but helping you hide? For years, I read the books, bought the courses, filled journals with ideas, and listened to countless podcasts. It felt productive, but my life barely changed. The problem wasn’t a lack of information. It was a lack of application. Most of us believe we need more knowledge, confidence, clarity, or motivation before we take action. But confidence usually doesn’t come before the step. It is built through taking the step, surviving failure, learning, and moving again. In this video, we explore why personal development can become a form of procrastination, what biblical obedience actually looks like, and how to escape the endless cycle of learning without doing. You’ll discover how to:• Make your first step embarrassingly small• Create accountability that outlasts motivation• Measure faithful actions instead of immediate outcomes• Treat failure as useful data• Consume less and create more• “Ship ugly” instead of waiting for perfection• Recognize what God may already be asking you to do• Become disciplined by repeatedly keeping your promisesJoshua marched before the walls fell. Peter stepped out of the boat before he experienced the miracle. Abraham walked. Moses stretched out his staff. The confidence came after the obedience. You may not be able to see God’s entire plan for your life. But like headlights on a dark road, He may be showing you enough to take the next faithful step.So ask yourself:What conversation have I been avoiding? What responsibility have I been neglecting?Who can I encourage or serve today? What can I finish in the next 30 minutes? What step do I already know I need to take?CHAPTERS:00:00 Self Help Confession00:55 Confidence Comes After01:44 Faith Before Clarity03:39 The Learning Loop Trap04:13 Six Action Principles06:52 Coach For Next Steps07:49 Identity Through Repetition08:28 Finding Gods Next Step11:45 Community Invitation12:52 Prayer And SendoffDon’t consume another big idea until you’ve tested the last one.👇 Comment below: What is your next faithful step?Join the free Better Than Best Brotherhood:https://www.skool.com/better-than-best-academy-5909/aboutBook a one-on-one conversation with me:https://calendly.com/coachredwallace/let-s-talk-about-itSubscribe for more Christian encouragement, practical personal development, and conversations about becoming who God has called and created you to be.#ChristianMotivation #FaithInAction #PersonalDevelopment
The Hidden Idol Most Men Never Notice
2026/07/31
What would your calendar, bank statements, screen time, and daily habits reveal about what you truly worship? It is easy to say that God, faith, and family matter most. But sometimes our routines tell a different story. In this video, we examine how good things—work, money, success, family, productivity, and even responsibility—can quietly become idols when we depend on them for the identity, security, control, or peace that only God can provide.I also share a painful moment from the birth of my first child that exposed where I instinctively turned when life felt uncertain. The problem was not simply that I was working too much. Work had become the place where I went to feel safe and in control. In this conversation, you will discover:• How your habits train your heart to love• Why the most dangerous idols often look responsible• How work can become an altar for control• What your calendar reveals about your real priorities• Why good desires can become cruel masters• How the gospel frees you from performance-based identity• One practical change you can make this weekJesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”You do not need to rearrange your life to earn God’s love. In Christ, you are already loved, chosen, and accepted. Making more money may help your financial situation—but it won’t automatically change the person managing it.Money magnifies the man.If you’re disciplined, generous, and honest, more money gives those qualities greater reach. But if you avoid your finances, chase every new opportunity, make decisions from fear, or keep financial secrets from your spouse, more money can magnify those patterns too.In this video, I share the painful lesson I learned after spending $6,000 I didn’t have on a coaching program without telling my wife—and the three-step framework that helped me understand what was really happening beneath that decision:Recognize the beliefRemove the weedReplace it with a rhythmYou may genuinely need more income. You Don’t Need More. You Need To Surrender
2026/07/10
What has God already placed in your hands? In this message, we look at a powerful biblical pattern: God often begins His greatest work with ordinary people holding ordinary things. Moses had a staff. David had a sling and stones. A young boy had five loaves and two fish. None of it looked impressive at first, but when it was surrendered to God, it became more than enough.Maybe you’ve been waiting to feel qualified, ready, confident, or resourced before you take the next step. But God is not asking you to start with what someone else has. He is asking you to use what He has already placed in your hands. This message will encourage you to stop waiting, stop comparing, and start surrendering your gifts, skills, story, opportunities, and obedience to God.You are in God’s hands, so use what is in yours. If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who needs to be reminded that God can use what they already have.Join the Better Than Best Brotherhood School community and apply for a complimentary Red Print Hot Seat.https://www.skool.com/better-than-best-academy-5909/aboutCHAPTERS:00:00 Look at Your Hands01:29 My Hidden Seasons03:51 God Uses Ordinary04:00 Moses and the Staff04:49 David and the Stone05:31 Loaves and Fishes06:38 Stop Waiting Start Surrendering07:27 Small Beginnings Matter08:03 Child in the Fathers Hand09:11 Jesus Pierced Hands11:16 Closing Challenge and InvitationWHO AM IHey, I'm Red Wallace, a former rapper(10 year career) current drummer turned personal development coach. You Don’t Have to Prove You’re a Man of God
2026/07/03
What armor are you wearing that God never asked you to put on?In this video, we look at David and Goliath through a deeper lens — not as a motivational story about believing in yourself, but as a reminder that the battle belongs to the Lord.David did not defeat Goliath by pretending to be Saul. He did not win because Saul’s armor made him impressive. He won because he trusted God’s faithfulness and used what God had already trained him to use: a sling, a stone, and a history with God in private. Many Christian men are exhausted because they are carrying someone else’s version of success, masculinity, leadership, responsibility, or purpose. It may look wise. It may even get applause. But if God never assigned it to you, it will eventually cost your peace. In this episode, we talk about:How to recognize “Saul’s armor” in your lifeThe difference between wisdom and pressureWhy comparison can make you counterfeit your callingHow God uses hidden seasons to prepare youWhy your confidence must be in God, not your giftsHow to stop fighting for identity and start living from identityIf this hits you, comment: “Use the sling.”And tell me one piece of Saul’s armor you know you need to take off in this season. If you are a Christian man carrying pressure, comparison, fear, false identity, or a battle you are tired of fighting alone, join the Better Than Best Brotherhood School community and apply for a complimentary Red Print Hot Seat.https://www.skool.com/better-than-best-academy-5909/aboutIt may be time to take off the armor that is not yours and use the sling God has already placed in your hands.#ChristianMen #DavidAndGoliath #IdentityInChrist #GodlyMen #biblicalmanhood 00:00 Heavy Armor Question01:18 God Not Self Help02:37 Imitation Versus Obedience05:39 My Saul Armor Story09:04 Discernment Before David10:38 David Private Faith12:26 Take Off The Armor14:52 Stop Despising Sling18:32 Surrendered Gifts Not Idols20:37 Jesus Greater Hero21:34 Three Reflection Questions22:20 Prayer And Next Steps23:21 Brotherhood Invitation24:06 Final EncouragementWHO AM IHey, I'm Red Wallace, a former rapper(10 year career) current drummer turned personal development coach. What if your biggest problem is not discipline… but belief? In this video, Coach Red Wallace breaks down why so many Christian men keep starting strong but struggle to stay consistent. You may already know what to do: pray more, be more present with your wife and kids, take care of your body, steward your money, and stop numbing out at night. But knowing is not the same as believing. If your habits keep falling apart, there may be a hidden belief underneath them that needs to be confronted. In this video, we talk about three shifts that can help Christian husbands, fathers, and leaders stop living stuck and start walking in truth:- Identity: stop obeying like an orphan and start living like a son of God.- Presence: stop giving your family your leftovers.- Rhythms: stop chasing intensity and start practicing daily obedience. This is not about shame. This is about renewal, repentance, and becoming the man God has called you to be.Take the next faithful step today.Join the Better Than Best Brotherhood and take the Present Provider Assessment to identify what is draining your presence, discipline, leadership, and peace.https://www.skool.com/better-than-best-academy-5909/aboutCHAPTERS:00:00 Discipline Or Belief00:53 Motivation Fails Fast01:30 Behavior Follows Belief03:04 Meet Coach Red04:04 The Hidden Problem05:48 Driveway Reality Check07:32 Renewing The Mind08:47 Three Shifts Overview09:01 Shift One Identity11:04 Lie Truth Step12:09 Shift Two Presence14:21 First Twenty Rule15:02 Shift Three Rhythms17:59 Pool Of Bethesda19:40 Your Next Faithful Step20:34 Join The Brotherhood21:23 Final EncouragementWHO AM IHey, I'm Red Wallace, a former rapper(10 year career) current drummer turned personal development coach.
